monstergarlicappetizer. like garlic? the roastedgarlicappetizer at richardson's is heaven. everything is good - from the wood roasted green chilies stuffed with potato to all the regular items. a little of new mexico in phoenix. wonderful!

we're happy to have richardson's back up and running a little north on 16th street in phoenix. highly recommended.

heavy with cheese but tasty. everything we tried was delicious! i had a perfectly prepared pecan grilled chicken on top of a toastedgarlicbread topped with yummy mushrooms and a tasty jalapeño hollandaise sauce. all together this was very delicious and i think anybody would enjoy what i tried. it came with a super yummy roasted green chile stuffed with spicy mashed potatoes and a salad that was loaded with lots of cheese. my husband tried the new mexico enchiladas with red and green chile sauce. he really enjoyed his plate but said it was also really loaded with lots of cheese. i haven't been here before so i don't know if it is typical for them to use so much cheese but we still enjoyed the food.

if you rebuild it, they will come.... summary:
richardson's offers amazing new mexican cuisine. it is one of my favorite restaurants in the valley. it's in a questionable location and looks like a dive from the outside (even when not burned to the ground), but the inside is wonderful. in fact, when rebuilt, it promises to be better than before.

ratings (1-10):
food - 9.5 (get thegarlicplatter!)
service - 8.0 (usually great, but terrible last time)
setting / ambiance - 8.0
value - 9.0
overall - 9.0

wonderful. this restaurant is one of the top restaurants in phoenix that i frequent. i have recommended it to friends for the past 15 years and it has been their top favorite as well. highly recommend it. oh, thegarlicshrimp is to die for!
