graceful ambience. wonderful staff. quick service. and most importantly ingredients with great quality.

my family has been going to this place for 20 years or so. we love their salads, the eel rice and most of all their ox tongues (thin cut, salt and pepper).

firstly, there are japanese restaurants. then, there are japanese restaurants that serve good sushi. and then, there are japanese restaurants that only do ramen. still, there are also japanese yakiniku restaurants.

i have been a loyal customer since i first visited this restaurant in 2011. love their wagyu and sashimi. very fresh, beautifully cut. always come here everytime i am in sydney.
favourite cuts : chateaubriand, oyster blade, loin, short rib, pork loin with bbq sauce. side order: garlic butter mushroom, premium sashimi, unagi rice, beef tataki, salmon avocado salad. accompanied by plum sake. oishii!

booked this restaurant for my anniversary and by far the best japanese yakiniku i've ever tried!
we chose the unlimited bbq buffet and i highly recommend this option! a wide range of choices with unlimited waygu, noodle, sashimi all taste nice

had the lunch box at this place. we sat outside which was not the nicest part of the resteraunt and liking around inside there were some nice tables. i have rate a fair amount of japanese lately and i would rank it as okay but would try somewhere else before going again

this is our fourth time here and it's been consistently satiating! even in spite of the recent price increase, it represents great value because of the premium ingredients that it offers. just be sure to order promptly and constantly, in case your time runs out!

rengaya has always been one of the top favourite restaurants of mine and my grandma's immense love for this place can be seen through her constant choice to return here on special occasions. rengaya is a japanese restaurant that specialises in yakiniku (bbq), as they use premium ingredients such as australian black cattle and also fresh seafood sashimi. the restaurant's interiors are simple and typical of a japanese dining setting with their shoji screens and you are warmly welcomed in by enthusiasticly friendly staff. to start off, a sip of complimentary, hot japanese green tea to warm yourself! my grandma's must-have entree at rengaya is this little dish called namuru ($8.90), which consists of 5 kinds of korean-flavoured vegetables. quite a refreshing entree to start off! the mushrooms are particularl

never again. the worst japanese restaurant i have ever had. the foods didn’t worth the prices and the workers didn’t care about the customers.

it used to be our fav japanese all you can eat buffet; i was disappointed after they changed management, wagyu beef quality dropped and so over priced, no more nice cocktails either

this use to be our favourite wagyu restaurant in sydney but the quality has decreased drastically. we had the buffet and the wagyu beef is not as nice anymore and some meats were actually tough and shockingly the ice cream came in the saddest small scoop i’ve ever seen in my life and without red bean as was given on the previous visit a year or two ago and today on the screen menu! when i asked for it they said it was just a photo but that if i wanted the red bean i had to pay extra.
for the price we paid being $90 or so dollars per head, it was not worth it and we won’t be going back.

my friend recommended this restaurant and now every other jap bbq place in sydney does not come close to the great quality. very friendly and helpful staff. quality of meat, sashimi, ice cream etc were the best i've ever had. everything came out quick and doesnt make you wait like other places. would come here again.

don’t go! used to be a tie with kobe, but was so disappointed when i went there three months ago. for buffet they no longer serve raw wagyu beef but all marinated shitty quality beef. i don’t know why i spent $90 for those beef.... extremely disappointed. and when i walk out, most people do not order buffet- seems like they still serve good quality wagyu beef. just so angry with myself going with buffet. still, will never go back again unless they serve unmarinated good wagyu beef.
