creepy manager!. we were in the restaurant recently and thought we would give it another try since they were bought out last year. not worth our time! our server, emma, was amazing. unfortunately, that is where amazing ended. thefoodwas okay, i'm sure it would have been better if it was served hot and in a decent time frame. the part that really got me was the weird old man that was managing. first of all, i don't appreciate people interrupting my conversation, especially the staff of the restaurant i am at. i'm fine with my server coming by, but the manager has no business cutting me off to come within inches of my face to ask "how is everything my friends". you could have done that from a reasonable distance with much more class. i don't know you, therefore i am not your friend, as he insisted on calling us. if i were your friend i would have made sure you had a breath mint that day. all in all, it just weirded me out. also, i did notice that there are almost all new faces, my favorite long-time servers and bartenders are all gone. they too must have been turned away by the awkward new management. hopefully that will be resolved soon and the restaurant will be returned to it's former glory!

the 7 of us went to redds on a sat. night. the place is beautiful, location on the river is wonderful, thefoodmediocre. we waited an hour and half and my meal was cold and over priced. we had to ask for salt and pepper. there are too many great restaurants to give redds another chance. won't be back. les d

yummy to my tummy!. this restaurant is quite the gem! thefoodhere is delicious, and the martinis are too. my husband and i go here almost every week. i've had a lot on the menu, and i can't think of anything i didn't enjoy. we've gotten to know chef glen, and not only does he know his stuff, but he also puts a lot of heart and soul into what he does.

this needs an "i love it" button. the bestfoodin gr hands down. scratch kitchen, seasonal menu, works with locals, oh man it's good food.

the cream that they served to go in my coffee was whipped and sweetened and a delight to the eyes and taste buds.

3 times perfect! i don't think they know less than that. service aaafoodaaa atmosphere aaa.

this is probably the fancy restaurant in rockford. i remember dressing up the first time i went there thinking it was jacket and tie, but with our cultural rot in the usa, there were no shortage of people grossly underdressed with no reverence for the fine and classy atmosphere of this excellent restaurant. the waitstaff was very accommodating for my parents demanding dietary requests. this is a great place for both thefoodas well as when your dining experience is to be an event. probably the best place in rockford for a more formal family affair. i just wish i could go somewhere for less than $100 per plate where i don't have to see a 300 pounder with a mid-riff justin bieber t-shirt. it's weird to see 75% of the clientele properly dressed for the caliber of the restaurant and the other 25% looking like they just came back from a tractor pull.

will not return or recommend.. sad for such a beautiful restaurant to have such inconsistant and mediocre service standards, thefoodis ok but the service is atrocius - from the time you (are not) greeted to the time you leave. definately not worth the time or money....if you must go try the sandwiches or the bar. just know you wil not be having a fine dining experience.just saying.....

wonderfulfoodand classy romantic atmosphere. the scallops i ordered were exceptionally delicious however the risotto that came with it was bland. my husband ordered london broil and throughly enjoyed it. we both raved over the goat cheese appetizer, i would definitely recommend that!

incredible night out!. we travelled over hundred miles for the most incredible dining experience ever! the most important ingredient to a perfect evening is," service,foodquality and athmosphere". brian (our server) expressed a very high level of professionalism by being very polite and masterful of the menu and preparation of our choices.
each coarse and presentation of the meal was very tasteful. our steaks were one of the best we have ever had outside of my preparation on the grill! finally, a quick comment of the surroundings. our table location by the fireplace was warm and cozy, and the accoustics were very quite considering the amount people in the restaurant. thank you, ron

love it!. i ate at reds on the river for my birthday in april. the weather was wonderful, so we were able to eat on the deck by the river. (i strongly recommend it). both thefoodand service was great. it is a bit pricey, so i would recommend it for a special occassion. (they brought me a chocolate mousse and wrote "happy birthday theresa" in chocolate).

so so. the last two visits to one of our former favorites were disappointing.foodwas ok and the service was lacking, even when the place was less then half full at our last visit.

two things..... two things the drinks are great and the service is wonderful! the only bad part is thefoodis not that good. i have eaten here several times and the only good meal i had was at lunch and i had a salad. i wonder can anyone really mess a salad up. other then that i don't enjoy thefoodand the only reason i would go here is for the outside atmosphere and to have some drinks with friends.
