unfortunately no. so we are 4 months in now since the opening and this was our 6th visit but the first time for dinner. what a shame! the poor service on the previous visits has been partially rectified with attentive staff but i still dont understand why ere are so many staff walking around trying to lokk busy. its gives an air of confusion. not the right atmosphere for dinner. and while they we very attentive its a pity they still didnt get the drinks or meal order right. how hard can it be? to the food.....in the past we have had the pizzas which are sensational. last night we went for the a la carte dinner menu. not sure what the gnocchi was like as they bought out ravioli instead. the pork filling was good but the shells needed more time in the pot. the rack of lamb was a shocker. ordered it medium well done and when it arrived it was still bleeding. well.....what meat there was. it was the fattiest lamb ever.. and because it was undercooked the large fatty slabs were inedible. the accompanying beans with bacon were incredibly fatty and rich as well. if you like fatty food you will love it. given we are locals we have been hoping that this would work a treat. its a wonderful renovation and thewinelist is superb but the service stills needs a lot of work and the food weve had apart from the great pizzas certainly dont match up to the many options in the area. overall.....if you can handle ordinary service call in for a pizza. if you want something more...definitely go to the many other places in the area. for us...we will wait another few months and try again.....we so want this place to work!!!!

went to epicurean unsure what to expect. huge warehouse seating area and very well setup. we had the bread sharing starter with dips (very tasty - olives could have been better!). then we had sea food pasta dish and a special sausage pizza. the pasta dish had some delicious seafood in and was good (perhaps just a bit too garlicky but still v good!). the pizza base was fantastic...the toppings i was unsure of. yet again not taking anything from the dishes as done very well.winetasting was slightly disappointing as we were just served thewinewith no explanations or descriptions. overall it was good and i recommend a visit.

steve. we've been to the shed at the epicurean four times now. on every occasion we have had great food, an excellentwineselection with reasonable prices considering the quality of the establishment.
it has a relaxed great atmosphere with 3 open fires in the cold weather. despite the relaxed atmosphere the staff are attentive, friendly and efficient. guisseppe attended to us today and he was witty as well as attentive.
would recommend this place to anyone.

excellent. came down on saturday for lunch. the restaurant looks amazing. the staff were attentive, experienced and were happy to meet our requests. everyone enjoyed their food and found theirwineselections (andwinebar) impressive and had an enjoyable lunch. i don't understand why this place is getting such negative reviews but it doesn't seem to matter as the venue was busy all afternoon!

what's with all the bad reviews?. admittedly, my review is a little late. we came up during the easter break, and ate here for dinner on easter sunday. there was no wait for a table, however the place was already full. love the fit out, if i recall hecker and guthrie's handywork.

this cool yet laid back eatery, think ladro but more relaxed, is just what red hill needed.

pizzas are rustic, and generous in size, and dressed with local produce.winelist by the glass is ample, but no really outstanding options.

i enjoyed this spot, given i'd had some big and heavy meals around the wineries, this was a little lighter on and a nice way to finish the day.

a breakout spot, like a bar only area would be nice for post dinner drinks.

the recent dining experience at the epicurean red hill was a very disappointing one, shocking to be exact. it was one of our favourite restaurants and go-to place for a nice lunch whenever we visited the peninsula region. the service before this wasn’t one of the best but decent enough to have us returned for many many times over the years. but last week was horrendous. it was the first time we visited after all the lockdown dramas. waited at the entrance for 10 minutes without anyone greeted us. all the waiters and waitresses were aimlessly walking around and no one cared to lead us in. i had to wave a few times and finally someone at thewinetasting area directed us to the rear section of the restaurant for ala-carte menu. again no one cared that we walked in. and when someone finally saw us waiting awkwardly in the middle of the room she asked if someone directed us there (what?!). they have changed the menu and the entire ordering system (probably post-covid lockdown). the main area is now reserved for set-menu diners only and if you wanted ala-carte be prepared to be deserted into the back area without much attention given. they got rid of those usual staff and hired a bunch of school leavers who don’t even understand the menu at all. and you have to walk to the counter to order and pay (for the $$ you pay yes you have to walk to the counter and order, what a joke). the new ala-carte menu is so minimal (only have pizzas as main) compared to the really extensive and interesting one they used to have. brought us the wrong food and had to ask us a few times what did we order. it seems like there’s no communication between the counter, kitchen and waiters at all! food standard has dropped too, bad presentation and the taste just wasn’t as good as before. gave us a few pieces of prosciutto when we ordered charcuterie and cheese board. asked one of the staff if that was the right thing and if so where’s the cheese and he answered “i have no idea”.

very sad to see a bunch of people who don’t know what they are doing managing the restaurant. what a crap system they have now! understandable it’s been a very difficult time for the fnb industry. however bad service is definitely something that is going to ruin it forever. bring back the good old epicurean, if possible!

the venue is stunning, a great place to chill for a while and enjoy a glass ofwineand some food. the pizzas were amazing as was the bread…seriously…the bread! delicious. what really let this place down was the service, it was exceptionally slow and they even forgot our pizza order completely. and with no apology offered when we queried it, disappointing. the spinach gnocchi was also tasteless. overall its a great place for a pizza and a glass of vino but for the high price tag ($18 for bread and oil) you may want to look elsewhere.

first time at epicurean after a long drive from melbourne! we were starving patrons and it did not disappoint! we did not have a booking however they gave us a cozy spot under a heated roof until a table was ready.

we sipped on some light whitewinerecommended by the staff in the interim. we got a table 20 min later and ordered the focaccia and prawn pizzas. it was by far the best prawn pizza i ever had👏🏽👍🏽🍕! so delicious and the seafood fresh and well executed. not to mention it was wood oven with a divine crust!

service was excellent and the venue itself very inviting with huge fireplaces, heated roof and an amazing view through sky lights. we will drive the 2 hours to eat that again! 😊thank you!

i have been to the epicurean about 4-5 times now and love it. my first visit was for a pre-wedding party which was held in the private room (beautifully line withwinebarrels).
my most recent visit was for dinner last night and again it didn't fail to impress us. despite my slight hit of illness (which limited what i could eat on the night) our table shared a salumi board, polenta fries, a dante pizza with pork belly and truffle paste, wagyu gnocchi and the pan fried barramundi with fennel puree and salad.

all the food was delicious - the polenta fries were very thickly cut and paired perfectly with the slight dusting of smoked paprika and mayo. the pizza was unreal and was unanimously touted as being in the top 5 pizzas we had all eaten. perfect balance of truffle and pork!

i am a big fan of the epicurean - its such a great space for all sorts of occasions. big enough to host private functions with separate spaces to cater for bigger groups, i also love the big warehouse main dining area. it's spacious enough to host a big event or enjoy a quiet dinner.

will be back anytime i'm back - so good!

great wine, good food if you want pizza, then order away. however don’t order above this. $38 barramundi was entree size at best with a lemon wedge. menu suggested “mary’s greens” would be served, but nothing green on the plate. piece of fish with lemon wedge no bigger than 8cms! yikes! worse was the coffee, the short blacks were
so bitter, never tasted worse coffee ever, and we drink daily, we asked them to check, but they served just as bad. poor girls we tried to tell them to check machine. they kept serving us syrup. so order pizza and localwineand you’ll be happy! don’t do anything more than this.

went there on a saturday afternoon and the place was still buzzing even though it was after lunch time. we had a beautiful sticky date pudding that ticked all the boxes - moist, decadent and yet not overly sweet. the sauce was just the right balance of caramel and alcohol and thewinelist was so extensive that you'd want to try to back several times over to sample all of it.

i've been here twice now, once with some work friends and once with my boyfriend. each time it was packed and service was understandably a bit slow because of this, if you are coming in a group be sure to book first. nonetheless, epicurean has a great atmosphere, casual yet a bit fancy too and everything i've eaten here has been delicious, made with obviously high quality ingredients. i also really like the strawbelini sparkling strawberrywinethat they stock.
