very disappointed. the two of us arrived just after 5pm, and although the kitchen was due to open at 530, they said we were welcome to have a drink while we wait. while enjoying our drinks, 530pm came along without any attention from the staff. at 550pm, we finally got the attention of a staff member who appeared to be the manager, and we asked if we could see the dinner menus. he went to get them, taking my empty glass without asking if i would like another drink. we eventually got his attention to place our order. the pizza and polenta chips came out quickly, probably because there were only three other occupied tables in the massive, cavernous space. the pizza was ok (although it had a hole in it!), but nowhere near the quality of doc mornington - who we ate with the previous night - and the polenta chips were not crisp, and very gelatinous - not particularly appetising. when our plates were cleared, he did not ask us how we enjoyed our meals, and when we asked where to pay, he simply pointed in the direction of the till. all in all i would call his service surly and inattentive. the only plus side was his offering of complimentary sweets from the day's cafe service as we left, which really did not balance a truly sorry experience.
