this place is opp to the cmbt bus terminus and its very noisy. avoid this restaurant, if you are looking for a peaceful and calm place. the view is not so great unless you sit on one of the corner table

however, the food was tasty and the staffs were very polite.

don't miss the "bharme aloo pathohari" it was fantastic!

food : 4  ambiance: 4  staff service: 4

decided to visit this outlet bcoz of it's rooftop ambiance and indeed it was an amazing experience from the top of the hotel which is situated at the 8th floor. one can see the mesmerizing beauty of chennai from the top as we all were busy seeing outside the yellow traffic lights everywhere for quite a while.

my friends have decided to visit this place for my farewell party. as the name suggests, both food and ambiance are rajputana.

we ordered  baby corn and achari paneer in starter which were delectable and also malai murgh kabab was mouth watering . main course was decent.

it seems my farewell cake was on the house which was delicious. thanks guys!!!

got complimentary desserts as a plate with rabri, gulab jamun, dark chocolate & carrot halwa!!😁😁 we just got lucky !!!

staffs are friendly and courteous.

so , it's a must try place for north indian food lovers !!!!!

here i go with my first review............................

being my wife's birthday i had booked my table with rajputana restaurant in jp hotels near koyambedu.
this is a small roof top restaurant with mixed reviews. i bit the bullet and went ahead with it.

to my surprise i was allowed to park my car near the entry of the building. i thought that i was in for a bad night. but my suspicion were wrong.

this restaurant although was small, it is no way small in service and food.

we had went for the à la carte and ordered the mushroom cappuccino for the soup. a minced corn starter, butter naan and a palak paneer and we finished of with the desert. we had ordered a sweet lassi.

mushroom cappuccino for the soup.  - 4
a minced corn starter - 3.5
butter naan - 4
palak paneer - 4
 sweet lassi - 4

i ordered only one lassi because i was informed by my waiter tat the desert was free when i ordered it.
the desert was a platter which had

chocolate, rasgulla(2), gulobjamoon (1), vanila icecream, rasmalai, one payasam absolutely on the house

all in all i had paid 2038 for 3 which is nominal i would say for the portions that they served.

the courtesy that they show is really great as it was bit stuffy i had asked them to place a fan for which they had obliged.

only turn off was that i was able to hear the traffic although i was 8 floors up and the tables for my liking was a bit too close as i could hear them speaking and vice versa.

in total its a good roof top restaurant for couples to have a long and peaceful dinner where people are first and food comes next. since we had entered at 8:40 and left at 10:30.

if you need to enjoy your company and your food this place would be good.

enjoy...........................

a rooftop restaurant with a stunning view of the city - cos it's on top of 8th floor!!😎-above jp hotel
went here couple of weeks back with a group of friends, although it took a lot of time to reach there but it worth the journey all the way from omr
the place great with personal booth kind of setting, the staff was very hospitable
coming to the food-the name sounds like an all veg place but nope, they have good variety of non veg as well
we ordered a baby corn and paneer starter-both kind of melted as soon as you put in mouth😋- along with a couple of chicken starters-forgot the exact names, all of those were really tasty
the breads and main course were okay too
they gave complimentary desserts-a plate with rabri,gulab jamun,dark chocolate & carrot halwa!!😁😁
we were giving farewell to one of our friends and so on request they had arranged for a cake-that was on the house😉🤘
cost i would say was fine given the food quality and the restaurant location and all
we later came to know that there are other branches as well but not sure if they are rooftop
its a must visit place even though the travel takes a lotta time!😃

heard so many reviews about this place that it is one of the few places that serves awesome north indian both veg and nonveg.

yesterday six of us went to this place. this is exactly opposite to cmbt chennai and very easy to locate. this is a roof top restaurant with dim lights makes this as an awesome ambience. overall it is a beautiful place for couples and families.

the staff is very very friendly and polite. service is the main attraction of this restaurant, i would like to mention mr. jd who took care for our dining. thank you for making our dinner awesome.

coming to the food, everything which was served was mouthwatering and delicious that you would like to try everything that they have as a part of their buffet. infect a simple veg pulao, dal makhni and aloo methi was delicious.

food and service both are really commendable for this place. we will definitely plan to visit this place once again. food lovers if u haven't tried rajputana then you are missing something.

this is a place with open rooftop which serve a nice food along with drinks. you can see the half city from the height of the hotel. service staff are very nice. food what they serve is very good but you should think about the portions. the best part of the restaurant is, in the city like chennai a restaurant plays gazals which purify your mind completely and the north indians staying in chennai should try once it will amaze you. gazals collection of pankaj udas ji, jagjit sing ji are amazing. loved it. and how can i forget about the roof top swimming pool its a add-on to it. keep the standard of food as it is. and don't stop serving complimentary welcome drinks and desserts.

rajputana is an open to sky restaurant at jp hotel, koyambedu. it is one of the very few rooftop restaurants in the city and was on my wishlist for quite a while. finally, i visited this place last month with my friends for dinner. it is an outdoor restaurant and ambience was spot on for fine dining with breeze of cool air, bird’s eye view of the city, fantastic view of asia's largest bus stand - cmbt, chennai traffic and the metro rail.

ambience does make you forget the food for a while for which we had been there for. we were greeted with an unpleasant welcome drink which turned out to be an alert for the not so pleasant dining experience which was en route. starters were served on the table. 2 veg and 2 non veg starters were served and were pretty decent. however, we had to wait for a very long time to get refills. we did lose our patience in due course and moved on to the main course which turned out to a pretty disappointing fare. roti/naan with gravies were not up to my expectation, considering that they mainly specialise in north indian cuisine. deserts collection was just okayish...
great ambience is no replacement for a terrible meal..

my rating: 3/5  :|
location: 4; ambience: 4.5; food: 2; service: 2; cost: 2.5

very few restaurants manage to that perfect trifecta of excellence in ambiance, service and food. rajputana comes as close to that as any place i've ever been. set in koyambedu, of all places, it literally rises above the noise, smoke and bustle, with its soothing, leafy rooftop setting.
the staff are very courteous and friendly, making sure they go that extra mile - bringing us a fan to keep away the few mosquitos that were bothering us, and  playing in a non-intrusive way with my son. the sense of generous hospitality was only heightened by the complimentary welcome drink (a delicious twist on mango juice with little apple chunks) and toothsome desserts.
the food was overall excellent, but the truly unforgettable touch was the veg biryani. i've had a lot of biryani varieties over the years, but nothing quite like this. it wasn't the typical hard-hitting spicy version, but a much more nuanced and genteel take that captured the soul of the dish while giving it a unique touch of class. you could almost taste each individual spice, even as they came together in the perfect blend. the vegetables were done just right and packed with flavour, and the dried fruits were juicy and perfectly complemented the heat. a rarely order the same dish twice at a restaurant, but this biryani is totally worth repeating over and over again.
overall, a truly satisfying and delightful experience. i went there at the end of a superstressy work day and left with that warm, fuzzy feeling that only the perfect restaurant experience can provide.
