so one day my partner was determined to take me out for a surprise dinner date and she is been nagging about the same all day long. :p though it was meant to be a surprise, i still helped her with deciding on a place. after an extensive and exhaustive search for an ideal romantic dinner date sort of places (going by their reviews and pictures) on zomato, thisplacecaught her attention. i was totally unknown about rajputana till the moment we stepped there. it wasn't even on zomato then. one of her friend suggested this and she without giving it another thought, she decided to take me there for which we went all the way to koyambedu from thoraipakam and that too almost at their closing time.. but the staff was courteous enough to consider her request for the later dinner and served us with a smile.

my second visit was with a group of 10-11 foodies who were invited for a on-the-house meal.

being located on the rooftop of jp hotel right opposite to koyambedu bus stand, the view you get from here is amazing. the busy roads of koyambedu, the car lights...though it was seems busy and noisy you would enjoy the peacefulness of the view! you can also spot the metro trains that goes for trail runs at intervals.

theplacehas rajasthani village theme with wooden furnitures around. but one strange thing about thisplaceis, they offer a rajasthani theme with a punjabi menu. you wont find any rajasthani rajput dishes here, not even one.

what ever it is, for me the food is the main thing. :-p the first time i went there, we chose a la carte and all our dishes tasted well esp. their paneer tikka and some chicken starter that my carnivore partner had. only disappointment was their their bhindi based main course we had ordered. (cant recall the name).

on my second visit, with the foodies, i felt the food was not up to the mark. we were served the buffet this time. apart from the starters (their paneer one again) and their lip smacking desserts none of the other dishes seemed to win any of our hearts. the biriyani was okay and maa ki daal was good. rest of the dishes tasted sweet. the welcome drink was made a bit too rich and it was hurting the throat. it was quite disappointing experience for all of us!

coming to their service , they care of you and your choices well. one dedicated seever serves you the dishes.

a la carte is expensive but the buffet seemed reasonable given the array of dishes.

overall, this is aplaceyou can take your partner to, have a romantic candle-light dinner with an amazing view. order a few dishes from a la carte (ask for their suggestions) and enjoy their service.

it was for our friend's treat! we dropped here around 7ish... we had pre-booked the table... surprisingly it was empty when we reached 😜 but later on the crowd began to come thou. 😉😋

ambience- mind blowing! rooftop, dim light, not so high noise, the ipl screen... it was amazing guys... better than azuri bay!😊

service- mr.ajith, the so called famous person in chennai after thala ajith is this guy i think! he was sooo humble... we were asking him for suggestions in starters and all those starters was sooo good... keep it up guys :)

food- we were welcomed with complimentary drinks: chocolate shake... it was good :)

for starters we had paneer, corn and gobi! all the 3 was top notch with right amount of spices and grill... 😍😍😍😍

coming to main course we had multiple breads and side dish... quantity was decent :) we were full by the end and even had few dal makhani left 🙈

dessert- they gave us this astounding gulab jamun and you know the best part of that, it was on the house 😋
i mean seriously guys, you could literally drop pff thisplaceif you have got some special occassions like bday or anniversaries!

thisplaceis no short from legendary. 😍😍😍

i decided to visit thisplaceon a saturday night dinner so i called and booked a table for me. the manager was friendly and got a seat for me.. the restaurant was not that crowded. i decided to go for the buffet instead of a la carte. they served the welcome drink which was good and starter's were very less they serve chicken, mutton, and fish. first they serve a very small quantity and if you want to more you have to wait for atleast 5-8 minutes to get more. the main course will be also served at your plate they serve chicken biryani which was not that hot and the taste was really bad.. the roti's served was ok with chicken and mutton gravy's the desert was really good especially the phirni and kulfi. overall the food was not worth for the money... the buffet cost's 750 + taxes and the nett price will be rs.925

firstly, theplaceis located at a very accessible location on the 100 feet road in koyembedu. the restaurant is on the terrace 8 floor high.built in a royal manner as the name suggests, it gives a soothing experience to fine dine at such a place.
coming to the food, they serve you with their complimentary drink and some papad while you lusciously enjoy the breeze on a fine evening.
though a limited menu for the vegetarians, whatever they have to offer is worth trying and with such fine flavors.
must try: achari paneer tikka, seekh kabab, chat items
after a hearty meal,we were served three varieties of desserts as compliments of the kitchen which were mind-blowing.
we even got a discount on our bill .
suchplacewith less crowd and amazing food is what makes this restaurant so appealing and makes us visit again.

so it was my wife's bday and wanted to take her out to a romanticplaceto celebrate the day. searched for a few rooftop restaurants and found rajputana on the top of the list. when we reached the place, it was already filled with people. apparently there was a private party going on and they were almost full. i guess there was some confusion when i had reserved seats, but they were gracious enough to make adjustments and get us to our table.
we started off with a spiced mushroom cappuchino. it didn't look very appealing and frankly it looked more like a payasam rather than a soup. but we were actually gobsmacked after our first sip. it was light and soothing with a very smooth mushroom taste. it's probably one of the best soups i have ever had and the main highlight of the evening.
as starters we ordered the amritsari machchali and the murgh tikka chandhini chowkwala. the fish was a batter fried fish. we thought it was maybe fried for too long and was lacking the flavour it deserved. the chicken on the other hand was superb. it was succulent and flavoursome.
for our mains, we ordered the lahori murgh biriyani. it was a huge portion with sufficient chicken pieces. the rice was surprisingly full of flavour and even though the biriyani was a bit dry, the entire dish was pretty good.

apart from the food, theplacehas a really great ambience. the view from the top is superb and they're props around theplacewere all visually very appealing.
i'm definitely looking forward to the next time i visit the joint.

had thisplaceon bookmarked for a while and i finally got to visit this restaurant. it’s located on one of the busiest roads of chennai making it really hard to ignore it.
thisplaceis a roof top restaurant which serves some delicious food from the north indian cuisine. couldn’t take much decent pictures of the food as we had visited thisplacefor dinner and it was quite dark.
we had ordered the following
-the tamatar ka shorba soup just to start off a bit fancy. it was just a plain tomato soup with a thick consistency, just a note for those who would love their soup that way.
-shebnam ke mothi for starters which were stuffed mushrooms with grated paneer and cheese over it. definitely a different starter from the ones i usually opt for in starters. a bit bland but well complemented with the mint chutney. wasn’t spicy and might be a bit bland if you have too many of these so 1-2 pieces would be fine.
-also, the murgh malai kebab lucknowi which were tbh the non vegetarian version of the shebnam ke mothi replacing the mushroom for chicken.
-garlic naan, tandoori roti, kadai paneer and jeera rice for mains. there isn’t anything i would point out as a flaw and you can feel free to try any of the above dishes.

loved the service at thisplacewhich definitely deserves a special mention because every waiter was assisting us so well and helped us feel comfortable throughout our dining experience. the ambience was fairly good and definitely aplacei would consider visiting again.
