this place is incredibly overrated. the cocktails are admittedly good, but that's where the upsides end. their lobster bisque is actually disgusting, and the heirloom tomato/mozzarella salad has only trace amounts of the highlight ingredients. the meat itself was fine, but the desserts were a colossal disappointment: the pavlova was just bizarre and difficult to eat, the chocolate dessert was basically like a chocolate dipped ice cream bar from the grocery store thrown on a plate, and the pistachio creme brûlée is not brûlée at all. literally not even caramelized on top. it was just a lackluster pistachio pudding, with some random brittle thrown on top that tasted like sesame. and the kicker is that they don't validate parking. so you pay an arm and a leg for dinner, and then you still pay for parking at the shang. theservicewas well-intentioned but not great. all in all, too much money for a lackluster meal - manila has much better places for steak.
