awesome entrees, horrific service- not just anyone can be a great server.. last night in seattle so picked this place based upon previous good reviews of food. i applaud the cooks and chefs for they delivered on our expectations. halibut, ahi tuna, and salad courses were divine. bar was busy, lighting warm, and nice wooden booths. the service by server is another issue. i must give additionalbackstory that my husband and i have over 15 years professional experience in the fine dining and restaurant industry so have first hand expertise in knowing when a restaurant delivers on the core principles of running a business: delicious food, immpeccable attentive service, and enjoyable environment. queen city grill had 2 out of 3. we were looking forward to an enjoyable night but had it ruined by an arrogant server who can't handle the basic elements of greeting your customers warmly, providing prompt and effortless service, and most importantly leaving your attitude at the door. our server was laxidasical at best, with no interest in making an effort to even do bare minimum of service his fellow servers and bus staff took better care of us as it was like having tables meant we were interrupting his social hour. it is an unfortunate trend we see in too many restaurants where the front of the house fails the hard workingbackof the house. a server needs to earn their tip, and we still gave our minimum 15%, but by not taking the time to check on us thought the night, and to just drop the check on the table without a word, he lost out on our additional order for after dinner drinks. just because we were not ready to order dessert when his coworker stopped by to clear our plates and inquired, did not mean we were done. oh well- his loss of a potential $40 tip by being short sighted and short on manners in his haste to turn a table. next time just get carry out!

came in by myself and the matradee was texting on my way in. server had great personality and one day will be a wonderful server with training and support. her knowledge of wine was limited. she was a busser and thdn s server for the past six months. after the fist glass of wine from the bottle i ordered i poured my own glass. when my ap arrived i finished it by the time i had a checkback. my entree waus about half done when i got a checkback. i dont blame the server. with five tables then being triple sat on top of those she needed help from the host who was nowhere to be found. and the barback rarely helped. there was only 4 people at the bar. why do you need a barbackinstread of a host and busser. if it wasnt for the personality and overworked server this would of been a disaster. and the matradee is still hanging outside on his phone. is anyone going to help this server.
