this place has a very beautiful interior. i sometimes go there to enjoy just sitting there after lunch. the food is good. i like theirgrillitems more than their mandi dishes. complementary soup being served is very tasty.

lamb chops bbq : fresh & super juicy 👌 i think best chops in the town.
bukhari rice : full of flavour 😋
the mixedgrillplatter comes with hummus & salad : most amazing kebabs. however, if you are true spice lover like me then the only problem that you might face whilst eating here is the bland kebabs. in spite of the bland taste they have its worth a try.😍😘
the bread was super fresh and soft.

the best afgani kababs i have had till now in ras al khaimah....the mixedgrillplate comes with hummus khaboos salad soup and kababs varieties ofchicken , lamb , mutton and mixed... the quality and ambience of the place is rustic and very arabic...the food is super fresh it is a must visit if you are looking for kababs...1kg meet is approx aed 130 ... it is sufficient for more than 4-6 easily.. bon appetite!!

we decided to visit qasr al afghan mandy restaurant in ras al khaimah again, as we had a good experience with their kababs and mandi on previous occasions.

we visited there for a friday lunch.

here is a review of what we ordered on our previous visits as well as at the present one:

the mixedgrillplatter used to be so tasty - this time it look oily and the browned meat was actually chicken kabab on the inside. out of seven, there was only one string of grilled lamb cubes - all the others were chicken. i feel we were cheated on this one.

the mutton mandi was delicious but one of the pieces contained less meat and more of a layer of skin on it.

the kunafa was not only a let down, it was a disaster!! we could not figure out whether it was filled with cream, cheese or semolina!

not sure, if we will visit them again.

the staff is quite friendly. the ambience is nice. there is free parking just outside the restaurant.

food is good especially the afghani rice and mixgrillbarbecue. however the service was quite lost. we didn't had plates for a while and we had to remind staff for things like water, cutlery, even also stuff which was supposed to come with food. could be because it was friday and they must be really very busy.

we went with our relatives to this restaurant. nice ambiance for a mandy setting. loved and enjoyed the floor seating. we ordered 2 kg mixgrilland it was enough for 9 people. soup was complementary. thegrillwas tasty. at the end they served cinnamon tea which was very good. one of the best restaurant in rak for family.

qazr al afghan mandy was our stop for lunch in rak , though from outside nothing much can be known but the inside of the restaurant was quite impressive with sitting area for families and friends as per your preference. interior of the restaurant was quite impressive with afghani decor . we went for family area with private majlis , it was quite clean & comfortable. for our lunch we orderd chicken mandy , mixgrillplatter as it was hot favorite there , chicken madfee and for sweets kunafa & sweet dumplings. though we tired mandi in many places so nothing very special about the mandi, it was good but not the best , kunafa which is my personal favorite was quite a turn off as it was hard neither crispy and cheese filling was very less. sweet dumplings were just fine. best thing about this place was the ambience. service was just ok as the ladies who were the severs were very unfriendly and non responsive to your request. mixgrillplatter was the winner as it was very good soft & tender, khubus & humus which comes with the meal was good humus was good . overall everything was fine not very best though , service was unwelcoming by the ladies & somehow lil rude.

good place to go for a filling meal at reasonable price ! i have tried their chickengrill,chicken kebab,makboos with fish all were up to the mark! their soup which is complimentary is a good start .the staffs are polite and the ambience is that of traditional afghan culture.

whenever we visit ras al khaimah this restaurant is on our top to-do list. amazing ambiance and staff. love the interiors it gives a village vibe. the food is amazing full of flavour. tried their chicken mandi , mixgrill, lamb chops, arayes and kunafa. everything was cooked to perfection.highly recommend. worth the drive and money.

we ordered mixgrilland rice with chicken both the items were exceptionally good and with every bite you can feel the taste.

overall recommended to everybody, whose got a appetite for some kebabs.

love this place .. it's a regular favourite with a group of european ladies.. we love the setting and the food is delicious fresh and plentiful.. mixedgrilland the lamb chops are lovely. downstairs seating for ladies majlis setting or at a table. upstairs for general seating .. we always bring visitors here , they love the quirky setting
