good pizza concept. 1) parking in the back is limited to maybe 15 cars, if it's packed just park next door at the bank.
2) during the week if you are going to eat here you better show up early... i arrived at 11:45.. by the time i stood in line and placed my order it was almost noon and the line was out the back door and down the steps.
3) the concept is fabulous. . it's one thing to go somewhere and place an order and tell them what all you want and hope they get it right... but here its set up like a subway and you watch them put everything on your pizza/salad.
4) i have no idea why the girl who took my original order at the front of the line needed to know that my gluton free crust request was due to afoodallergy..
5) they bring your pizza out to you after it has sat in the fire oven for a few minutes. ....
6) didn't really seem to have enough seating for the amount of business they were getting. ..
7) all in all the pizza i ordered was great and the unsweet tea was good as well.

one of my local favorites.... i've been recommending the pyro's closest to me - the east location - for a while. i've been to midtown quite a few times and enjoy it just as much. last night, they had trivia, so we enjoyed that while we watched the grizzlies game on the 2 flat screens above us. i've never had problems getting my pizza order correct at this location and i've always been full afterward. flat crust pizza usually isn't my cup of tea, but i've always thought pyro'sfoodis great - their salads, pizzas, and coffee are stellar in my book. i understand people's complaints about the wait and slow staff - sometimes it's not consistent. but these things happen and at least the owners are doing their darnedest to make the customers happy, provide continuous training to the employees', be highly responsive, and resolve any issues...so i commend them for that. also, people who say it's too expensive boggle me?? you can get an entire meal in a nice atmosphere for under 10 bucks (please tell me where else in midtown you can do this...) and they even ask you not to tip. so yeah...the price doesn't bother me.

pyro's is on fire!. first of all, full disclosure: i love pizza. i could seriously eat pizza every single day and never get bored with it. c'mon, it's got all the majorfoodgroups except dessert. it's fabulous. also, i 'll eat just about any pizza, even bad school cafeteria style pizza. it's pretty hard to muck it up for me. it can be done -there at least two major chain pizzas you couldn't pay me to eat- but it's a rare experience.

i more than like pyro's pizza. i truly, madly, deeply love it. i'm a thin crust kind of guy anyway, and their flatbread style crust is simply wonderful. i also love the "subway" style of walking the line and picking out exactly what i want on it, and folks there's an abundance of different toppings, at least 40 of them. you get loads of veggies, meats, cheeses, and sauces from which to choose. the best part: you get as many as you like for one low price. it's 8 bucks whether you get 2 toppings or 20.

one tip: get the 11 inch pie. a 7 inch is offered, but it's barely a couple of bucks less. in this instance, size definitely matters, with the larger the better value.

on my most recent visit, i had them spread half the pizza with spicy marinara sauce and the other half with pesto and added gorgonzola instead of the pedestrian mozzarella. i love the fact that there so many different cheeses from which to choose. the staff makes it exactly to order, and they're all terrific. they build your pie in front of you, and if you want more items or the pie constructed in a different way, they're happy to do it for it. the service at the union location is exceptional. and to seal the deal, there's a nice selection of wine and beer available if you wish to imbibe.

granted, pyro's is new to midtown. clearly, they're off to a good start and firing on all cylinders. i hope they continue to offer yummy pizza at a fair price with friendly service. i wouldn't go anywhere else for a pie. sorry memphis pizza cafe. time to step your game.

i'm not a fan of thin crust, but i did enjoy the pizza. i like the fact you can build your pizza like subway is set up. the dining area is really nice too. great price for thefoodtoo. just wish the crust was thicker.
