puckett's grocery & restaurant

tabemasho, dayton, oh. wonderful experience! while shopping in franklin, we went to puckett's grocery for lunch. a great choice! i ordered the blt with afriedgreen tomatoe. my companion ordered the chicken wings with homemade chips. we were seated right away at the lunch hour. there was mix of business men, families and visitors like us. the server was friendly and knowledgeable. would eat here again

my girlfriend and i were traveling south from columbus, oh and decided to take a detour to stop here. we were not disappointed! we were seated quickly, and the food didn't take very long to come.

the food was mostly excellent. my hot chicken sandwich and our dessert hit the spot. we weren't impressed with thefriedpickles, however. mostly breading, not much pickle.

we will definitely return!

we were on a tour in franklin and went to puckett's for lunch as part of the tour.

their food was fantastic. we were a large group of 14 but that was no problem. everybody raved about whatever was ordered.

i let my server pick for me. i had thefriedgreen tomato blt. yum! there was a generous portion of bacon. thefriedgreen tomatoes were fantastic. i'd definitely order again!

the cobbler of the day was cherry. even the small nana's portion was too much for me to finish. but i loved every bite!

our experience was so good that several went to puckett's in nashville the next night for dinner.

good food. from mississippi which has better southern food but overall was good. wish zomato did the .5 still. i had the chickenfriedsteak and it was good. haven’t had a ton of good southernn comfy food other than this place and loveless cafe in nashville. ✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️🐳

saturday afternoon lunch. 15 minutes wait notifies by text message.friedgreen tomato blt sandwich on sourdough was excellent! sweet potato fries were good but nothing special. three sliders in pulled pork, chicken, and brisket were very good. well worth the trip.

went there saturday for an early supper my wife got the pulled smoked chicken with slaw and sweet potato fries i gotfriedchicken white with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans and a side offriedgreen tomatoes food was excellent some of the bestfriedchicken and green tomatoes i've ever had service was excellent about a twenty minute wait not bad for a saturday night. i will be back and on march 18th i did my wife and myself had thefriedchicken with mashed potatoes and green beans withfriedgreen tomatoes still wonderful service and the food was excellent

high expectations?. guess i read too many reviews on this place. love the idea of live music while eating the stuff on their menu....but...thefriedgreen beans were tasteless, didn't finish the shrimp and grits. i have had shrimp and grits 4 times in recent memory and this was the worst. just poorly spiced, not good. don't get it. ribs were ok but nothing like you'd expect from a great barbecue area like this. unfortunately, the live music wasn't too good either... a little screechy. i hope it was just a bad night and i got the wrong stuff.

second great dinner at puckett's. we moved to franklin recently and tried puckett's on a recommendation from a friend. my husband had the cajun chicken & waffles, and i got the moonshine glazed salmon. both were excellent. (first restaurant i've been to in ages that didn't overcook the fish!) the sweet potato fries are amazing. crisp outside, sweet inside. last night we brought my in-laws there. we knew it was a friday night, and the place was hopping. the hostess initially thought all the tables might be booked for reservations, but she got us in with absolutely no wait right in the middle of dinner rush. our server was kalley, and she was excellent. helpful, friendly, thoughtful and efficient. she checked on us frequently, and our drinks were always full, but never seemed to be hovering or pushing in any way. i even watched her interact with children at other tables, and was sweet and patient with a little girl who was screaming and crying. last night i tried the southernfriedcatfish, and again, it was great. my father in law fell in love with thefriedchicken, commenting that he hadn't hadfriedchicken like that since his grandmother died. loved the service, loved the food. will be back again and again.

i had the shrimp & grits, it was awesome! wife hadfriedchicken and it was delicious as well

awesome!. possibly the best club sandwich i've ever had. and thefriedgreen beans are to die for. great atmosphere and service.

local favorite. our entire family loves puckett's. my personal favorites are thefriedjalepenos and the bbq pork nachos. i would eat them every day if i could! the burgers are also amazing, and the salads are fresh and tasty. a nice local business. we try to support locally owned businesses when possible, and puckett's makes it easy.

hit or miss food/service. i wish i could rave about pucketts but sadly i can not. sometimes the food here is amazing and other times it is just bland. on my first visit i ordered heritage classic chicken sandwich
grilled chicken breast, topped with cheddar, bacon and our bbq sauce served on a bun 8.99. unfortunately, the chicken was dry with no seasoning. my husband ordered the fall specially. i can't for the life of me remember what is was except it was beef and very good. our waiter, i think his name was brandon, was exceptional. very friendly and engaging with a radio announcer voice. also, was quick to refill our glasses. on our next visit, i ordered thefriedchicken salad. thefriedchicken was very good. my husband order prime rib....they do know prime rib is supposed to be pink the middle right?? guess not. they cooked it like it was a roast and the sauce tasted like a gravy. not a fan. our waitress was terrible. she never refilled our glasses.not one time. my husband actually had to get up and ask our waiter from our first visit for a refill. 30 seconds later we all had our glasses refilled. our waitress saw this and did not apologize for the over site. in fact, later on she neglected to refill our glasses again. not once did she refill our glasses. i really believe our waitress was just not good at her job. other service staff around us seemed great and the hostess was very friendly

but my official opinion is that puckett's is it is a tourist trap.

good service.friedpickles & jalapeños were interesting. thefriedgreen tomatoe blt was amazing! make sure to call ahead and make a reservation. the restaurant is somewhat small and fills quickly, even on a tuesday night. live music was okay, but not spectacular.
