prime burger bar

not too bad. i decided to stop by for lunch and ordered wings as an appetizer and the texan burger and cheese fries as the main. the wings wereniceand crispy and had a lot of meat on them them. they were covered in frank's hot sauce which is a bit of a let down as i find frank's very generic for such an establishment. the burger was just "okay"...there was more bun then burger and it took away from the other ingredients in the burger. the angus beef patty was under seasoned and it made the whole burger taste very bland. overall, it's not the best burger i've had in ottawa, but at the same time it isn't the worst. service and ambiance was good overall.

those fries.... went to prime burger last night. was very happy with the result. i ordered a cheeseburger and fries and the fries were amazingly hot, crispy, and flavourful. the burger was delicious. whatever sauce they put on it was amazing. it was anicechange over the kanata works we often go to. will definitely be coming back.

my new spot :). i took my friend here for his birthday on saturday night. there were only a handful of people on the patio and a a few people inside. it wasn't very busy but it was the long weekend so that could have played a part. it is in an odd location but inside the restaurant looks great. they have anicedining side and a separate bar side which is equally nice. we were greeted right away and shown to our table. our server aleya was extremelyniceand helpful. she explained all the beers on tap without flaw and was happy to explain the ones i had never heard of before. i ordered the bull burger which was really yummy, i could have done without the onion ring but it was a good onion ring! the burger was cooked perfectly. i substituted the fries for sweet potato fries which were super delicious. the only complaint i had was that the tzatzkiki sauce seemed a bit bland i prefer mine to be much stronger tasting. i asked for the chipotle mayo afterwords and it was a much better choice. they have the new citrus somersby on tap which is really neat. my friend got the sunday bbq burger which apparently was very good. he was very impressed how little mess there was despite that fact that it was so large and had pulled pork and coleslaw on it! :) he substituted fries for poutine which was really good, and had a lot of gravy. our bill was more than a trip to a chain restaurant but the quality and service made it worth while. we will definitely return in the near future, they have some pretty good deals.

not sure how i feel. i didn't dislike it but i didn't love it either, here's why.
service:
could be better, 10 minutes to get water is too slow especially in an empty restaurant with 3 waitresses

décor:
awesome, looks reallyniceand a little upscale (not enough to look out of place with jeans). good job

price:
expensive and for what you get, not sure is right. there are no options to order just a burger so i ended up with the sliders which were surprising.

food:
i had the chicken sliders my husband had the cheese burger. for a place that prides itself with fresh never frozen beef, why do you drown it in spices? don't get me wrong, it was okay tasting but you could barely taste the beef... it was also overcooked. i mean the waitress said they cook it at a medium welldone, i like medium personally and although the waitress told us we could change it to medium when we are ready to order, when we were ready, we forgot. my point is that it should be medium in the first place. the bun is like a brioche type and its alright. it wasn't fresh. i suggest freezing them if you don't get a delivery everyday. the chicken sliders were amazing. i added pickles to mine and my mind was blown. delicious. the fries were also very good

all and all, now that i know what to expect i think i would be ''less'' disappointed if i were to go again. it was very expensive and without the option of cutting on the price like having just a burger for like $10 or something, i feel like $30 for what we ate was a little much and it left a bitter taste.

yikes, a whole lotta surprises!. first big surprise was the option to have your burger wrapped in a lettuce leaf! but at a $1 surcharge, i was hoping for something a little more exotic than iceberg. the side salad was excellent, the dressing had a unique tang to it that complemented to ingredients, which included chick peas. only downside was the use of iceberg lettuce. seriously? use romaine at least for some nutritional value. i don't mind - and prefer - paying for quality, hate being charged for stuff that i know costs next to nothing and tastes like crap.
second big surprise - the fries, both sweet potato and regular were cut from real potatoes and then deep fried. no pre-packed frozen dreck as you would find at a typical burger joint - world burger comes to mind, as do others that i won't bother mentioning.
third surprise - the portion size is generous! we're not big eaters to begin with, but for the most part we can each finish a burger, and part of a side in one sitting. not so with these portions. half my burger was left after a loosened my belt. but, that's a-ok, it'll make anicebreakfast tomorrow morning before heading off to work.
we have every intention on returning, and spreading the word about this place!

i enjoyed this restaurant. the food was good and atmosphere was nice. their fireplace added an extra cozy spot on a cold winter's day.nicemenu, fresh ingredients, decent portions and good options for gluten free, vegetarian or low cal diets. my only issue was that the burger was a little dry but i would give them another chance! :)

great new spot! decor is fun and hip, comfortable and relaxing with a bit of edge. food was yummy - salmon panini hadniceflavour. the fries were crispy and tasty! only suggestion would be for the side salad to include some spring greens (iceberg lettuce has never been my fave, pretty low on the nutritional scale for me). fun spot to check out - and i hear the wings are awesome.

upscale burgers. only open for a few day we decided to stop in anyway. upscale place for your burger adventure. menu consists of about ten burgers and i think you can build your own. burger and fries are going to run you around the $15. one local brew on tap. i ordered the chipotle burger that had a chipotle mayo that could use a bit more kick, double smoked bacon and double jack cheese. juicy burger very well presented, the brioche bun making it seem small until you pick it up and notice it is a weighty burger. the meat itself was juicy and seasoned properly with enough fat to give it a good flavor. i noticed a bit of pink that made it even better. i opted for the onion rings upgrade at a premium charge and was a bit disappointed with only four rings. they do their own rings and have not yet perfected the cooking method. the onion was painfully strong leading me to believe it had not been properly cooked. the breading wasnicewith an italian bread crumb as a base. when they get this issue figured out they may be a winner. my wife had the italian burger which had mozzarella a strong sundried tomato sauce and prosciutto with a bit of arugula. not my thing but my wife enjoyed it. this burger was served medium inside, it could have been a bit undercooked but no complaints here. as soon as the kinks are worked out this place has the potential to be top burger in town. i was asked for my feed back and hopefully it gets through to management and the cooks.
