prime burger bar

our first time at this restaurant was a saturday night at 6:00 and we got seated right away. my husband and i split an onion rings and i had a paris burger (brie,carmelized onions,bacon)and he had a chipotle burger (bacon, cheese, chipotle mayo) they came with handcut fries. we both really enjoyed our meals.
it was a lot of food!!! he also had a mojito and it was amazing! fresh limes and mint, two kinds of rum and cane sugar garnished with a stick of sugar cane.quiet, comfortable with great staff!

there are certainly worse burgers in town. and if you’re in the neighbourhood, i would encourage you to try it for yourself. there are plenty of good options on the menu, including a poutine burger which i need to go back and try. the fries are fine – middle of the road i’d say. and the deep fried oreos are insane (insane = delicious)! but for a joint specializing in burgers, i was a tad disappointed… great presentation though

pretty average burger restaurant. the burger and fries were tasty, but nothing special. the ambiance and staff were pleasant, but not particularly memorable. prices are kind of high for what you get.

first off, i've never seen a menu with more spelling mistakes in my life, from the angus beef parry to whatever a poituine is. probably spotted 5-6 and i just stopped after that. the burger itself was good,except when you say you sell an "inferno burger" and indicate it's the spiciest burger you have, why is there only jalapenos on it with a mild mayo? place wasn't very busy while we ate there and like most other reviews the servers generally didn't seem to care to much either way. i don't live here so won't be back regardless but if i did, this would be the one and only time i visit

had the chicken wrap with garden salad. delicious food and great service. have had burger and pouting in the past, also very good. reasonably priced and relaxed atmosphere

its a very cute place, but veryy very greasy. buns itself has so much oil. i could feel my chin pores opening. its not really busy in there either.

quite honestly i was not impressed at all with my experience here. the food was okay however both mine and my boyfriend's order got messed up in more than one way. and the customer service was so appalling yaht i don't think i would go back even of the food was good. there was next to no one else in the restaurant but we didn't get checked on once. my partner had to get up twice to find the waitress. once to get water and the second time to pay our bill.

not too bad. i decided to stop by for lunch and ordered wings as an appetizer and the texan burger and cheese fries as the main. the wings were nice and crispy and had a lot of meat on them them. they were covered in frank's hot sauce which is a bit of a let down as i find frank's very generic for such an establishment. the burger was just "okay"...there was more bun then burger and it took away from the other ingredients in the burger. the angus beef patty was under seasoned and it made the whole burger taste very bland. overall, it's not the best burger i've had in ottawa, but at the same time it isn't the worst. service and ambiance was good overall.

loved this place. friendly staff and very accommodating to allergies. gluten free buns available. fries are gluten free but done in the same fryer as everything else. lots of options for everyone. from mac and cheese to burgers to delish-looking salad. will be back!!

disappointing. we went on a thursday lunch for their $6 pints and to check out the burgers, and the waitress tells us the fuse for the legs blew overnight so all of their draft beer is warm. she said it takes 30 min to cool the kegs (which didn't make sense as it was lunch and should have been fixed by this time). she suggested putting ice in our glasses of beer. no thanks. this place was busy, so i'm sure most of the people were just as disappointed. i'll admit, i'm a burger snob and know a good burger when i taste one. this burger i give a 5/10 because...the patty didn't have much seasoning, wasn't very thick as the bun is very big, and all of our buns were dry (that pouder/dry taste). good toppings which was good but is why it got a 5/10, and good options for other burgers. would i go back? no. would i recommend? no. service was good but everything else was not. also, for a burger joint there burger menu is way at the back of the menu hidden behind salads and sandwiches. their quality is affected by other food options.

good!. service was attentive and fast even for a large group of people. i had the sliders and they were pretty good. their regular sized burgers are much larger than what i've seen at other places. the place was modern and clean without it being overly pretentious.

fancy but still family friendly. my husband and i went to prime burger the first time because it is very close to our home and we didn't want to wait forever to get into lone star. we really enjoyed the food and have been back a few times since. the last time we decided to bring the kids with us. my 10yr old got the poutine and loved it. my 7yr old ordered the special mac and cheese but after one bite decided she didn't like it (not enough like kraft dinner!). the waitress noticed right away and came to ask her if she would like something else. she asked for chicken fingers instead and we were not charged for the mac and cheese. the staff have always been really great and this time they went above and beyond.

fantastic burgers. i took my girlfriend to prime burger bar after the last date's brutally disappointing burger rendezvous at cornerstone in byward market, and prime restored my faith in upscale hamburgers. the decor was nice, other happy patrons created a sizzling atmosphere, and the burgers were perfect. the truffle fries were a little overpowering but i'll definetly be back to try some more of their offerings!

cooked perfectly, but still tasted terrible. first off, everything was cooked perfectly. the burger was still hot and juicy with a hint of pink in the center (like a burger is supposed to be). the fries where like chip wagon fires, thick and a little soft (i liked that too). and the mac and cheese had a great cheese coating.

though the burger itself tasted weird. this is more of a subjective point, but i didn't like whatever the spice blend was in the burger. it tasted unpleasant, but at least it had some flavour, unlike the mac and cheese. the pasta was just bland and dull. i would suggest adding more cheeses to the sauce to make some sort of blend, but whatever they are using now just isn't worth the price (even with bacon on top).

but the big reason why i won't be returning was the waitress my friend and i had. when i arrived, she did greet me proptly and took my drink order when i sat down. i ordered a beer and when she brought it a minute later she spilled a signficant portion on the table as she placed it down. she said "sorry" and wisked away to the kitchen. i thought she was maybe going to get a towel or something to clean it up, but i dismissed this idea after she never returned. my friend arrived 10 minutes later after i had grabbed all the napkins from the set table next to me to clean up the beer, and she returned then and took his drink order. when she returned with his drink order, she took our food order. i wanted to try this burger but i also had a craving for mac and cheese. i noticed that they offered the mac and cheese as a topping for the burger for an extra cost, but i didn't want it on the burger, i wanted it as a side. when i asked if it was possible to substitute the fries for a side of mac, fully expecting to pay a little more for the extra, she proptly answered with a "no" and just stared out the window next to our table. my friend informed me he was planning to order the mac seperatly with an order of sliders, so i didn't push it. in the end, i guess she saved me a few dollars in the end because, as stated above, it was extremely bland. food arrived shortly and like i said, it was cooked nicely but just didn't taste that good. when it came to pay the check, she again came back, made no eye contact, barely said a word, and had a look of inconvience on her.

overall, the food isn't that great, but the service really made it worse.

prime burger bar. a group of 3 had went for dinner but was not all that happy with the food. to begin with the coke had to be changed twice because it was so watered down and the third time the waitress gave can coke instead. i found for the quality of the food that is was over priced. the salmon burger was good but the onion rings were bland with no real flavor. the burgers were ok as well but the buns that were served where too big, way too much bread! the house sauce was delicious. the selection was too small with no originality for a restaurant that specializes in burgers. the staff on the other hand were fantastic but unfortunately not enough for a return visit.
