themenuis frequently updated and changed. this way you essentially have to try something new every time. maybe it's not for everyone but we very much enjoy it. there are variations on the standards. service is generally better than average. atmosphere is a little different but fine for a family, kinda open for couples or a more private group. desserts are at a separate counter but a must buy.

i recently visited this place with couple of my colleagues. it looks quite small from outside, nice entrance but looks cramped, you'll probably miss it, if you dont know it was there. as soon as we entered there were quite a lot of folks waiting to get a table, we were lucky to get a table almost immediately as we were only 3. we were seated at a really nice place where were able to see whatever was going on in the kitchen.

themenuarrived and it was quite disappointing to see only sandwiches, salads and me being me, i really thought we made a mistake coming to this place. probably that was a good thing as it just removed whatever expectation i had of the place and i must say i was pleasantly surprised by the chicken pesto sandwich i ordered. it was delicious, juicy and one of the best sandwiches i had. within no time i finished it and wished had another one on my plate :)

by the time we finished, we saw a guy completing a frosting on a cake and dressing it, looked quite good at the end. overall a very good lunch !!

pomegranate bistro is a favorite brunch spot on the eastside (east of the sr 520 bridge) of the greater seattle area. it is part of the lisa dupar catering company. brunches are available on the weekends and they have a limited breakfastmenufor other days. if you get a table towards the back of the restaurant, you can see lisa’s crew in action though huge glass windows.   it is nice to watch the goings-on in the bakery while you wait for your food to arrive. the southern fried chicken and waffles are something you should not miss, so are the fire breads and the quiche. they have their bakery out at the front near where you wait and you can order your dessert from there to be brought to the table or to take it to-go to eat later.   $$$ 18005 ne 68th street, redmond, wa (425)556-5972

nondescript, but awesome. previous reviews have noted that if you were to drive past pomegranate without knowing it was a restaurant, you might pass it by - the nondescript building in a sea of business parks doesn't really stand out as a restaurant.

pomegranate is a bit of a local haunt for us - its nearby location and something-for-everyonemenuappeals to all. themenurotates (seasonally, it seems) to showcase different available options and the desserts are to die for. even the kids'menuoffers tasty treats for your little one - something we are starting to learn is an important thing - though our one year-old eats almost everything, there are a few areas in which she may disappoint. pomegranate is a welcome oasis in a desert of otherwise bland food. we go here fairly frequently and have never had a bad experience.

second visit was wonderful. had lunch at pomegranate bistro today and it was really excellent. i had been earlier (april) and not been all that impressed, but today's meal was so good i'll definitely go again.

my husband and i shared one appetizer and two sandwiches, and all three were interesting, slightly different and delicious.

the lamb sliders (3) were outstanding - tangy slaw and tender, well-seasoned lamb. nice flavor mixture with the feta cheese.

the tuna melt was a special, and not at all the standard sandwich. it was open face on a thin crisp base and had a lovely mixture of soft and crunchy and the pickled onion slices really made the flavors shine.

the tequila rock shrimp firebread looked a little sparsely covered when i first saw it, but that was part of what made it work so well. the firebread was beautifully cooked - a little crispy, but not chewey or tough. the light touch with the toppings made the balance of flavors delicious - better than if they'd loaded on the shrimp.

i'd have loved to have room for dessert, but after we split these three things and each had some hot tea, we had no room.

service was prompt, pleasant and our questions were usefully answered. all in all a really excellent lunch out.

good earthy food. my family ate dinner there last night and had a good meal. i'm not sure i'd go back again though as there was nothing that really said "wow" and themenusounded better than the food tasted.

my kids are a bit picky and didn't care for the cheese quesadillas or pommes frites (i tried both and liked them a lot). sometimes the boring and expected is more palatable for kids. i can't defend their eating habits, but it helps when the kidsmenucaters to them, versus tries to improve their food choices.

i had the lamb shanks and they had been well cooked (fell off the bone) but if i hadn't read themenuthat said "braised kaffir lime & coconut milk lamb shanks with jalapeño ginger basmati rice & organic vegetables" i would have just said that it was stewed lamb shanks. i got no hint of lime, coconut or ginger. so it was tasty but not really what themenuled me to expect.

my husband had the hard cider braised pork (which i tried). he really liked it, and i thought it was good, but again, no real hint of the flavoring beyond the pork.

we didn't have room for dessert - portions are plentiful.

my favorite restaurant. lucky for me its close by so i go all the time. we try to get through all the items on themenubefore they change every season, but sometimes don't make it because something stands out so much that i have to keep getting it. right now that is the meatloaf, and the mulled sangria. i wouldn't even try to count how many times we've been here and yet i can't remember anything i didn't like. and the soups are often surprising and always delicious. we chose our wedding location to allow for lisa dupar catering - that's how much we love this place :)

the service feels very cold. i had to go to whole foods across the street to have dinner after dinner. themenuis way over priced for the portion and quality of food. i had the duck breast and figs with rissotto.... it was awful. the duck was so dry i choked on it and had to throw up. the rissotto was over cooked mush and the vegetables were so hard they should have just served it raw. awful restaurant!
