my surprise at the pomegranate bistro. this was my first time to visit the pomegranate bistro and when i walked in i immediately noticed the huge window that allows you to look into the kitchen area. at first i thought wow! this is kind of cool but then i noticed something was missing. there where many employees busy mashing, mixing, rolling, dipping,...etc but not a single employee wearing a hair net or even a white over coat like you would expect in any professional kitchen. this was a bit unsettling for me and made me a bit concerned of the food i ordered. i probably wont be back simply because of this concern.

the menu is frequently updated and changed. this way you essentially have to try something new every time. maybe it's not for everyone but we very much enjoy it. there are variations on the standards. service is generally better than average. atmosphere is a little different but fine for a family, kinda open for couples or a more private group. desserts are at a separate counter but a must buy.

small place but they have a great happy hour. small portion plates make it nice to try quite a few different dishes. get here early for the best tables.

i recently visited this place with couple of my colleagues. it looks quite small from outside, nice entrance but looks cramped, you'll probably miss it, if you dont know it was there. as soon as we entered there were quite a lot of folks waiting to get a table, we were lucky to get a table almost immediately as we were only 3. we were seated at a really nice place where were able to see whatever was going on in the kitchen.

the menu arrived and it was quite disappointing to see only sandwiches, salads and me being me, i really thought we made a mistake coming to this place. probably that was a good thing as it just removed whatever expectation i had of the place and i must say i was pleasantly surprised by the chicken pesto sandwich i ordered. it was delicious, juicy and one of the best sandwiches i had. within no time i finished it and wished had another one on my plate :)

by the time we finished, we saw a guy completing a frosting on a cake and dressing it, looked quite good at the end. overall a very good lunch !!

one of our favorite spots, its southern comfort food at its best.. so glad to have found this on the east side, and not have to drive to seattle anytime for a good brunch.

amazing. the ambiance, the food, the service, all of it. such a great experience. for a long time, i believed no sandwich would take the place in my heart for paseo. but their cuban was the best sandwich i've ever had. the flavor was to die for, and the dip provided completely changed the entire meal, somehow making it even better. totally unexpected from the exterior of the place. a must-have when in redmond. might be worth the drive from the city on its own.

pomegranate bistro is a favorite brunch spot on the eastside (east of the sr 520 bridge) of the greater seattle area. it is part of the lisa dupar catering company. brunches are available on the weekends and they have a limited breakfast menu for other days. if you get a table towards the back of the restaurant, you can see lisa’s crew in action though huge glass windows.   it is nice to watch the goings-on in the bakery while you wait for your food to arrive. the southern fried chicken and waffles are something you should not miss, so are the fire breads and the quiche. they have their bakery out at the front near where you wait and you can order your dessert from there to be brought to the table or to take it to-go to eat later.   $$$ 18005 ne 68th street, redmond, wa (425)556-5972

went for lunch order the flatbread chorizo, tasteless, the thyme out drink totally needs a time out, no flavor besides the sourness that left a discussing flavor in my mouth. way too expensive for what you get, service ok. will not return and will definitely put a word out there to my colleagues to stay away.

one of the few good american restaurants on the eastside. first thing when i got into the store was to purchase my favorite cherry chocolate scones. their scones were not as soft and fluffy as murchie’s, but the flavors were very good, particularly the deep dark chocolate with the chewy dried cherries. they often sold out of this particular flavor scones as well. the three of us shared a firebread (thai peanut lime flank steak), salad (dueling wedges) and calamari appetizer.

dinner. went to dinner on sat (3/9/13) and was disappointed. we ordered a salad to share, fish tacos & fried chicken. the chicken came out in 10 minutes and the waiter apologized that the kitchen that did the dinners was way ahead of the kitchen that did the salads. we cancelled the salad. the fish tacos came out a few minutes after the chicken. the food was ok, but the chicken drum stick was way under-cooked it couldn't be eaten. the rest was fine.

wow!. there's not a lot of great dining in redmond, i'll admit. my wife and i have talked about going to pomegranate a couple of times, and we finally took the plunge.

we started with the lamb sliders, which were pretty amazing. perfectly balanced the sweet slaw, the savory of the feta cheese, and delightful lamb patties. i had the fried chicken, which was incredible!!! the crispy batter was wonderful but was also so incredibly light, it was crispy when i bit into it, but then it just kind of melted in my mouth. wow. my wife had white fish tacos, which had some spicy yucca fries. we'd never had yucca, but they were pretty addicting - the spices were awesome! we decided to round it out with a "jarred peanut butter cup." outstanding! even that seemed light for something so otherwise decadent.

we'll definitely be going back, hopefully taking my parents when they come into town, and i'd love to also check out their brunch menu.

we love sunday brunch at the pomegranate! the food tends to be better than the service at times, however, especially when the restaurant is very busy.
