best pub in the glebe. great casual, fun atmosphere - fantastic food - always a funtimeespecially on the weekends, lots of socializing, great way to chill with new people

came with a large party-half were children. despite having a reservation weeks in advance they were totally unprepared. our waitress was lovely but clearly overwhelmed. appetizers arrived with or after the mains. kids were fed after the adults even though their orders were taken first. almost 2 hours from arrival to food on tables for most (though inexplicably some peoples' food arrived 45 minutes earlier). told delays because it was a busy night, but very few tables besides our large group - and they knew we were coming. food was good - but of course we were starving by thetimewe were fed, so who knows. lots of mistakes in the orders but most of us just sucked it up because we couldn't stand any more delays. have done this big group annually at other spots with much better service.

excellent st. patrick's day! i've always had a goodtimeat the pub and st.paddy's was no exception - great laughs, music and exceptional service as always. a great local pub with atmosphere!

slow service. my server asked me multiple times what i had just to forget to bring it back. i dont know why she asked my name because my bill was also incorrect. in the past i've had a greattimeat pqs but the lack of care really turned me off.

best pub in ottawa (hands down). wow, this place is great. just always such quality food, well prepared. the owner is always there too and there is just so much pride of ownership there. to be honest, i'm surprised it's not more packed all thetimeconsidering how consistently great the food is. the service is also excellent.

love it. best poutine in town, and believe me i tried every poutine in ottawa...absolute favorite burger is amazing.... so delicious...everytimei go there i wish i could get hungry more so i could order all of them at the same time....

love it. discovered this place when we were visiting ottawa from toronto on canada day. best burgers we've ever had, fresh guinness on draft, dartboards, great music, and super-friendly staff. will definitely be returning nexttimewe're in ottawa :)

i don't think i ate at the same place as these other people.. so i leave the city for awhile and come back to what i thought was the royal oak only to discover a completely new staff and a different sign outside. as far as changes go, that's about it. not even the drink specials have changed.

i seriously question the veracity of some of these reviews. don't fool yourself people, this place is essentially a clone of the royal oak that was there previously. there may be some changes to the menu, but the quality is the same. i'm not saying it's awful, but it's pub food - nothing half as exciting as some of these reviews make it out to be. definitely not "fresh". i've tried the burger, which was good but not "10x better than the works" as one other reviewer noted. tried other things such as the poutine and salads. same as the royal oak.

service is... adequate. certainly not worth some of the gushing that's been going on here. the new owners are nice enough (almost to a fault) but have clearly never been in this business before.

i live close to the neighbourhood and when it was the royal oak i'd walk by and pop in a few times a month. i have noticed there are fewer people in there at any giventimeas opposed to when it was the royal oak. if the regulars aren't that regular anymore, that should tell you all you need to know.

succinctly, there are much better options within a minute or two walk of this place.

nice enough owners, i am sure. they seem full of hope. they always there on the weekend....tough jobs...taking over a business that had a reputation for crappy food can't be easy. .. if there was a check mark for "good people/bad food" , i'd totally check it.

the food is boring and sub-par at best - be honest. the lasttimei ordered food it was the fish and chips and the grease was pooling under it.timebefore that: soup and sandwich - just canned/pre-made oily crap and a cheddar stuffed wrap i could have gotten at any ...erm....royal oak.

given the choice of food options in the glebe, and my own experience eating there, i find that these previous ratings are just a wee bit over the top to be taken serious.

wow! i am so impressed!!. i have lived in ottawa for a longtimeand i have never had such good service in my life as i did at pints and quarts! i went there with a friend last week for a business lunch and had what i think may be the best burger ever (absolute favorite burger with awesome fries). our server, who was also the bartender was so great. she really seemed to care about us, which is rare these days. if i had a business, i would want her! we will be back here for sure! i want to try all the different burgers.

pub food done right!. pleasantly surprised to drop in for a quick bite while running and errands. ordered jalapeño poppers, the special burger, and the clubhouse wrap. the poppers were amazing - hot, crispy with a great batter. my boyfriend really enjoyed his burger - and though he had wanted to go to the works, felt that this burger was much better than what he would have got down the street. my wrap was delicious - the chicken was crispy and hot, fresh ingredients and amazing fries. our waitress was friendly and the owner took thetimeto bring us our food, introduce himself and ask us about our experience. will definitely come back here!!

an exceptionally place of everything ! all in one family-managed pub. we had two massive parties organized by p&q team. such a pleasant experience. this place has everything! great food, great service, great prices, great staff - they have it all!! i highly recommend spending yourtimehere.
