cute littlepubin the glebe that's an awesome pick if you're in the market for a new regular neighborhood haunt. my friend and i chose a cozy booth toward the back, but bar seats as well as a patio seats are also options. i enjoyed a snack of mozzarella sticks, served with a side of fresh, just-spicy-enough salsa. my pal loved the philly cheese steak sandwich, with a generous, but not overwhelming, serving of fries. the service was attentive, friendly, while respecting our space. if you're in the mood forpubfare and an impressive selection of beers, check out p & q!

the variety of food offered is much better than what is typically found is apubor bar - something for everyone. the also offer a nice selection of local beers in addition to the usual suspects. worth another visit!

dynamite pub. my wife and i went for for a drink or two on st. patty's and had a great time. the owner has got to be the nicest guy in ottawa -- and he cooks. i had the irish stew. dynamite. all in all - the best littlepubin the glebe.

bestpubin the glebe!. hands down the bestpubin the glebe.

the food is great... but the best part is amir... the hard working, friendly owner who runs the place magnificently.

it has been a long while since i have seen an owner care about his customers like he does!

the burgers are great!

great burgers, great beer. some of the best burgers i've had in town, and a great selection of sandwiches. portions aren't stupid huge and the staff are great. the weekend afternoons it's a great lunch place, quiet and intimate, that kind ofpubthat's more of a family restaurant than a pub. sometimes on sports nights it gets a bit loud around the projector screen but fortunately there's another section around the corner and behind a wall from the loud sportsbeasts. beer selection is great. it's in the regular rotation.

i have been to thispuba few times now after having just moved into the glebe. the staff are fantastic and have always made me and my wife feel at home, with lots of laughs and great service. the food is very good, large servings and well presented. the owner is a great host and keeps the atmosphere fun and lively - i think we found the perfect place to kick back, listen to great music and have fun.

bestpubin ottawa (hands down). wow, this place is great. just always such quality food, well prepared. the owner is always there too and there is just so much pride of ownership there. to be honest, i'm surprised it's not more packed all the time considering how consistently great the food is. the service is also excellent.

i'm hooked on this pub!!. ate here (again) friday, feb 28th 2014. i'm impressed and love that the owners take pride in their establishment. i have to be honest, i didn't really enjoy my first visit at p&q in 2013. the service was great, but the food wasn't. except, every other visit (3) since has been amazing. the owners are so accommodating, friendly and truly want your dining experience to be a great one. i had the portobello mushroom burger and my boyfriend had the quinoa burger. the look of shock on my boyfriend's face when i stated that p&q's portobello mushroom burger was better than my own (and better than the works!!) = priceless! and i'm a great cook (i swear i am not just biased!!) also, my boyfriend is vegan and thispubis that special place in ottawa where you can go out with a group of friends that are meat eaters and still not be stuck ordering a plain salad for the vegan in the group. everyone has good eats!! and the beer list is one of my favourites in ottawa - i love when i have 4 choices that are top contenders so i can switch it up throughout the night if i want to. so would i go again? yes. would i recommend you go? yes!

finally, apubwith good food in the glebe. update: i have stopped going here due to the terrible service.

my hockey team has been searching out apubin the glebe with good food. the corner has great ambiance, but terrible food. (like make you sick bad.) arrow and the loon has an impressive beer menu, but meh food again. clocktower's menu is fairly boring. p&q, however, was great! all my teammates loved their food (most of them got the sunnyside burger). i wish the lettuce wraps came wrapped instead of build-your-own, but they were nonetheless quite good. the owner came over to greet us and gave us a shot at the end of the night. i think we found our post-hockey pub.

the mediterranean burger is the best burger i have ever eaten. p&q had a surprisingly gourmetpubmenu, with all freshly prepared items. i highly recommend coming here for a pint and food. the owners are always around and check in with the tables which gives the place a welcoming feel.

i don't think i ate at the same place as these other people.. so i leave the city for awhile and come back to what i thought was the royal oak only to discover a completely new staff and a different sign outside. as far as changes go, that's about it. not even the drink specials have changed.

i seriously question the veracity of some of these reviews. don't fool yourself people, this place is essentially a clone of the royal oak that was there previously. there may be some changes to the menu, but the quality is the same. i'm not saying it's awful, but it'spubfood - nothing half as exciting as some of these reviews make it out to be. definitely not "fresh". i've tried the burger, which was good but not "10x better than the works" as one other reviewer noted. tried other things such as the poutine and salads. same as the royal oak.

service is... adequate. certainly not worth some of the gushing that's been going on here. the new owners are nice enough (almost to a fault) but have clearly never been in this business before.

i live close to the neighbourhood and when it was the royal oak i'd walk by and pop in a few times a month. i have noticed there are fewer people in there at any given time as opposed to when it was the royal oak. if the regulars aren't that regular anymore, that should tell you all you need to know.

succinctly, there are much better options within a minute or two walk of this place.

excellent food. this newly opened restaurant is an excellent addition to the glebepubcommunity. the food is spectacular. i am a food critic and almost nothing can satisfy me, unless it is real and tasty and homemade. i asked the owner if i could visit their kitchen, and i was surprise how well everything was maintained and kept, and how sparkly clean everything is. the other thing that grabbed my attention was, the fact that they make their burger with real meat, and fresh without any additive. the burger's taste can tell you a lot about where the meat has been and its age and quality.
their bar serves 14 draft beer, and the staff know their beer really well. i have also noticed that they have changed quite a bit with the place and made a much nicer place (previously was royal oak). the ambient is very nice, and lovely. they have many hd tvs and free wifi.

fantastic burgers. easily the best burgers in town, carefully crafted under what looks like very strict supervision by the owner. juicy, tender, and very flavourful, i normally have to go to the us to get burgers like this.

the other menu items, notably the spinach dip, are also must-haves. they clearly do not skimp on their food preparation. very refreshing to findpubfare this good.

the service is also fantastic, and you can tell the new owners are looking to create a nice, cozy neighbourhood bar and restaurant that emphasizes proper service to the customer.

will definitely go back.
