best pub in the glebe. great casual, fun atmosphere - fantasticfood- always a fun time especially on the weekends, lots of socializing, great way to chill with new people

came with a large party-half were children. despite having a reservation weeks in advance they were totally unprepared. our waitress was lovely but clearly overwhelmed. appetizers arrived with or after the mains. kids were fed after the adults even though their orders were taken first. almost 2 hours from arrival tofoodon tables for most (though inexplicably some peoples'foodarrived 45 minutes earlier). told delays because it was a busy night, but very few tables besides our large group - and they knew we were coming.foodwas good - but of course we were starving by the time we were fed, so who knows. lots of mistakes in the orders but most of us just sucked it up because we couldn't stand any more delays. have done this big group annually at other spots with much better service.

i had a very nice lunch , thefoodwas fantastic, and the service was friendly and prompt.

in addition, the owner came by to chat with us and make sure we were enjoying our meal which was a very nice touch. i would highly recommend this restaurant !

the variety offoodoffered is much better than what is typically found is a pub or bar - something for everyone. the also offer a nice selection of local beers in addition to the usual suspects. worth another visit!

dynamite pub. my wife and i went for for a drink or two on st. patty's and had a great time. the owner has got to be the nicest guy in ottawa -- and he cooks. i had the irish stew. dynamite. all in all - the best little pub in the glebe.

best pub in the glebe!. hands down the best pub in the glebe.

thefoodis great... but the best part is amir... the hard working, friendly owner who runs the place magnificently.

it has been a long while since i have seen an owner care about his customers like he does!

the burgers are great!

pints & quarts strikes me as a place where you can come and have a good time. the service goes a long way to making sure that you are comfortable with your surroundings. thefoodcomplimented all that.

the staff was very nice but thefoodwas greasy and fries tasted as if they were store-bought frozen. my friend had a burger, which tasted bland. very disappointed.

i have been to this pub a few times now after having just moved into the glebe. the staff are fantastic and have always made me and my wife feel at home, with lots of laughs and great service. thefoodis very good, large servings and well presented. the owner is a great host and keeps the atmosphere fun and lively - i think we found the perfect place to kick back, listen to great music and have fun.

eh... ok. i went here with my husband on a saturday night. thefoodwas good and the owner seemed to be very engaging. the server made multiple mistakes and hardly seemed to be paying attention. i saw the bartender drinking multiple shots (i guess she thought she was being sneaky?). overall it was an ok experience but the staff seemed drunk and i doubt we will return.

i'm hooked on this pub!!. ate here (again) friday, feb 28th 2014. i'm impressed and love that the owners take pride in their establishment. i have to be honest, i didn't really enjoy my first visit at p&q in 2013. the service was great, but thefoodwasn't. except, every other visit (3) since has been amazing. the owners are so accommodating, friendly and truly want your dining experience to be a great one. i had the portobello mushroom burger and my boyfriend had the quinoa burger. the look of shock on my boyfriend's face when i stated that p&q's portobello mushroom burger was better than my own (and better than the works!!) = priceless! and i'm a great cook (i swear i am not just biased!!) also, my boyfriend is vegan and this pub is that special place in ottawa where you can go out with a group of friends that are meat eaters and still not be stuck ordering a plain salad for the vegan in the group. everyone has good eats!! and the beer list is one of my favourites in ottawa - i love when i have 4 choices that are top contenders so i can switch it up throughout the night if i want to. so would i go again? yes. would i recommend you go? yes!

upgrade in the glebe. way betterfoodthan prior restaurant. love the burgers, nice and juicy. everything i order has been great. will be back often.

finally, a pub with goodfoodin the glebe. update: i have stopped going here due to the terrible service.

my hockey team has been searching out a pub in the glebe with good food. the corner has great ambiance, but terrible food. (like make you sick bad.) arrow and the loon has an impressive beer menu, but mehfoodagain. clocktower's menu is fairly boring. p&q, however, was great! all my teammates loved theirfood(most of them got the sunnyside burger). i wish the lettuce wraps came wrapped instead of build-your-own, but they were nonetheless quite good. the owner came over to greet us and gave us a shot at the end of the night. i think we found our post-hockey pub.

just had the best burger at p & q!

some of the best pubfoodin town!!! you won't be disappointed! the owners are always in and they're fantastic!

i don't think i ate at the same place as these other people.. so i leave the city for awhile and come back to what i thought was the royal oak only to discover a completely new staff and a different sign outside. as far as changes go, that's about it. not even the drink specials have changed.

i seriously question the veracity of some of these reviews. don't fool yourself people, this place is essentially a clone of the royal oak that was there previously. there may be some changes to the menu, but the quality is the same. i'm not saying it's awful, but it's pubfood- nothing half as exciting as some of these reviews make it out to be. definitely not "fresh". i've tried the burger, which was good but not "10x better than the works" as one other reviewer noted. tried other things such as the poutine and salads. same as the royal oak.

service is... adequate. certainly not worth some of the gushing that's been going on here. the new owners are nice enough (almost to a fault) but have clearly never been in this business before.

i live close to the neighbourhood and when it was the royal oak i'd walk by and pop in a few times a month. i have noticed there are fewer people in there at any given time as opposed to when it was the royal oak. if the regulars aren't that regular anymore, that should tell you all you need to know.

succinctly, there are much better options within a minute or two walk of this place.
