thefoodis very good. however, they are very disorganized by their inefficient checkout process. one cashier that takes the order, fills your drink, and cashes you out. this may not be bad if there are just a few people in line, but the line is usually to the door. also, i have a toddler and they would not let my son and i sit at a table while a friend placed our order. i have never been to restaurant that made you do this. not family friendly or senior citizen friendly. very disappointed!!

now with two locations, thomas ward’s “pig floyd's urban barbakoa” is frequently mentioned amongst orlando’s best spots for bbq, and channeling his hispanic background alongside 90’s pop-culture references the north mills avenue original is anything but a typical country western smoked meat setup.

debuted in 2014, years operating afoodtruck finding ward now brick and mortar with an extensive menu of sandwiches, sides, tacos and combo plates, it was after debating several daily specials that the #19 was ordered, the pulled pork unfortunately a little over-sauced while lean brisket is surprisingly supple with deeply penetrating seasoning and a good bark.

not about to waste stomach space on store-bought tortillas, at least not when elbow macaroni with aged white cheddar is available, fans of elotes won’t want to miss corn covered in chile-lime butter plus cotija, nor stick-a-spoon-up-straight banana pudding with chunks of fruit juxtaposing nilla wafers.

it's rare that you find an eatery with a truly unique take on afoodyou enjoy. if you are a bbq fan and looking for a 'rockin' experience, you need to try pig floyd's. on the surface it looks like a standard counter service bbq joint but when you take a look at the menu and then taste the fare, you will be hooked. only wish it was closer to this philly guy.

here's a few of my favorites - the big floyd sandwich - melt in your mouth brisket, pulled pork, sausage, choice of hot or sweet sauce served with citrus peanut slaw and french fries or how about smoked brisket, chimichurri, pickled carrots, green over an easy egg on a baguette. then there is pork belly or pork barbacoa banh mi, piri-piri pork or you can have incredible tacos with pork belly, chicken or pork al pastor, shrimp and sausage and more. and yes, there are the usual platters of brisket, ribs, chicken, etc. and all are perfection.

you can't miss here if you are a bbq lover.

a little out of the way but well worth the ride.

this latin, asian, and southern american bbq fusion joint in orlando’s mills 50 district has a nice list of bites, including matambre smoked brisket sandwiches topped with egg, indian butter chicken tacos and the latin plantain and fried yuca sides.

but it’s all about the oakwood smoked st. louis barbecue ribs here. succulent. juicy. sweet, yet refined. delicious. when you can get it, it’s really good. the problem is that it is can sell out fast, so call ahead and make sure they’ve got some ready for you.

founded by thomas “tito” ward esteves, the founder of the treehouse truck, one of the first so called gourmetfoodtrucks in orlando, pig floyd’s urban barbakoa is a an ode to his family’s deep love for food. barbakoa is a form of cooking meat that originated in the caribbean with the taino people, from which the term “barbecue” derives.

poor service & mediocre food. waited forever to place take out order. waited even longer to receive order. order sat on counter for 20 min getting cold while what looked like the owner handed out freefoodto his friends and played around on his phone. i can prioritize too...hence i will not be back. either way there is betterfoodelsewhere.

pig floyd's was a 7.5/10 in our book. it's a little hole in the wall kind of restaurant with a unique feel. you walk in, order, and take your order number to your table besides the standard sit at the table and be waited on. due to the size of the place, the line was a tad long and wrapped to the outside of the restaurant. however, someone very picky would only degrade the restaurant on that. it didn't affect our score. the vibe could use a little work to get a greater sense of what culture the restaurant is trying to display. it was a tad bland on that aspect. thefoodwas very good with a unique flavor. we got the pulled pork with corn and fries as well as the al pastor taco and the pork belly taco. there is a relaxed outdoor area for larger groups with heaters for the cold, and the inside of course for smaller parties. overall, goodfoodand we look forward to returning.

awesome, amazing, wow!. 1st time eating here and i highly recommend it. everything was delicious. the spice rubs used are outstanding. the prices are good for the quality of the food. it's about what you would pay to eat at smokey "you know where's" but thefoodis so much better. the atmosphere is great and the outside dining area is really nice. the music is a nice touch too. and all of the staff are very attentive and friendly. definitely worth going!

we had the 1/2 chicken platter and the beef brisket & pulled pork platter. delicious! the plantains are outstanding....they have a sugar coating on them which was so good you can't stop eating them. the fried yuca, french fries and corn on the cob were out of this world. and the portions were perfect. you leave there feeling completely satisfied without feeling like you need a nap!

take a date...go with friends or just swing in for a bite to eat. it's a great place to enjoy some fantastic barbecue. make sure to put this restaurant on your list of must go places!

started out great, but.... first time eating there thefoodwas outstanding, but the following two visits level me with egg on my face. thefoodwent down hill quickly since all three visits were within 2 weeks time. i'm going to try again, i'm hoping it gets back to the original visit as i'd hate to cross it off my list!

great tasting bbq. this place came to me by word of mouth and i must say that it was delicious. i had the ribs with fries and corn and at first i thought i wouldn't be able to finish my plate but before i knew all myfoodwas gone. the ribs were so delicious that there was no need to put any sauce on them. move over to the other bbq places! everyone was nice and friendly and the owner even came to check on us. will definitely be back again and will spread the word myself!

too long a wait for any food!. went to pigs floyd tonight to try it out. the line to order went pretty quickly, about 10 min, then nothing. we sat outside waiting on ourfoodfor and hour. i had to ask the servers if they would mind getting me a refill in my drink which he never brought back. i ended up asking another waiter for it. finally we gave up and asked for our money back, which took another 10 minutes for them to figure out how to refund our money. they did offer to wrap up thefoodand give it to us for free to go but it was really too late at that point. if one of the servers had come around to check how we were doing or to apologize for the delay, or to offer to try to expedite ourfoodthat would have gone a long way to making a bad situation more bearable. unfortunately they didn't. will i ever go back to give it another chance? probably not.

so yummy!!. we have been waiting for pig floyd's to open and the day finally came! you order at the cashier then thefoodis prepared at brought to your table. the prices are very reasonable! service was friendly, genuine and prompt. the owner was even out and about saying hello, runningfoodand helping out. we got a ton offoodfor about $35. they also seemed to have good drink choices but we skipped out on the alcohol this trip. we waited about 45 minutes for ourfoodbut i attribute that to opening day. however, our meals were so worth the wait that i beg them never to change the timing if the 45 minutes was necessary. (seriously, please, please, please do not sacrifice the quality of yourfoodfor speed and crowds like a certain local bbq place did).

we tried all 4 tacos on the menu, the whole rack of ribs, corn on the cob, and fries with fancy sauce. there was nothing on the plates that we didn't love! the ribs fell off the bones. the spicy bbq sauce was so delicious - still had sweetness too it but it wasn't overbearing. all 4 tacos were so unique and flavorful. i would get each and every one again. personal favorite with the chicken al pastor - due to the sweetness from the pineapple. my next favor was mint in the shrimp & sausage taco really added a nice element to the taco. the sides we got were also tasty but i would not say remarkable or out of the ordinary. however the fries were elevated to spectacular because of the fancy sauce! dang was that stuff good! i will definitely try some of the other sides next time like the fried yuca or fried plantains.

all in all a great place and i can't wait to go back!!!
