great atmosphere...friendly staff.. ok, i have to admit. i sent the first entree back. i ordered the calamari risotto and the calamari was way overcooked. the waiter was very nice about it and recommended another dish which was great. the cauliflower cake appetizer is awesome.

best italian in la jolla for 20+ years. been coming here since i was a child, what can i say, it has never let me down. best cioppino i've ever had, and they have an amazing wine list. i can honestly say that i've had everything on their menu and it is all incredible.

don't miss this. awesome, intimate spot, with a great outdoor patio and greater food. eat witt the locals, you won't be disappointed.

very kind and accommodating for special diets. they were packed so we ordered take out and ate at the beach. they were extremely patient with our (complicated special diet) take out order while being very busy. food was delicious!

the food was very good, the waitstaff were excellent. the hostess was disorganized and not very responsive.

great bar scene, great food, service, especially love the veal picatta. reasonable corkage. indoor and outdoor seating, always packed!

had never been to this place. won’t go back. not nearly in the class of the dearly departed bravo, which used to be just east on fair oaks. service ok. room ok, except for the dinky table with barely enough room for utensils and dishes, much less lunch. food below average and an insult to any halfway decent italian restaurant. would have much rather travelled 15 miles to espanol to get really good family cooking. walked out with upset stomachs from crummy calamari. overpriced, too, viz., $8.50 for 2 scoops of gelato, total over $60 for so-so pizza and sides. wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody i respect.

i had the mushroom celebration event for oyster and ordered the mushroom risotto. it was cooked to perfection. the firmness and the flavour were done with utmost quality. the warm bread was a nice touch and they asked if you want more when you're done ! btw i ate the whole portion myself.

great waitstaff and classic wine menu. food was excellent, i really enjoyed the pasta dish i had. the dipping bread was incredible and very addictive. loved the outdoor space.

good list of wine, and great choice of pastas and pizzas.
not sure why this place gets bad reviews. i enjoyed the food. service was great. it gets a little loud so hard to hear conversations but other than that, i'd go again!

we make reservations each and every time we ae visiting san diego. it has a very impressive wine list.  our past visit was in the early fall 0f 2015.  we indulged in some appetizers of beef carpaccia and veal sweetbread. i had the house made ricotta-butternut squash ravioli . the atmosphere, the food, and exceptional staff were superb. can't wait for my next visit. coming soon!
