we tried the mission figs pizza and the margarita pizza with chicken. both were delicious. the ambiance is really nice and perfect for a nice peaceful dinner. we also tried the shrimp and the raspberry sauce chocolate cheesecake. the dessert was lipsmacking!

i ordered the garlic mashed potatoes, herb chicken and spinach and my mom ordered a cheese ravioli. the ravioli is wonderful and the mashed potatoes are the best mashed potatoes i have ever in my life. i would also recommend ordering the lasagna as the people next to me ordered it and it looked pretty good :p the ambiance is lovely and their ac figuratively helps you survive the hot la jolla sunlight. the attendants are cheerful and polite. i would definitely recommend this place if you are craving italian at the la jolla beach.

great atmosphere and decor. it makes you feel like you are eating in a big italian dining room. awesome food, even the warm bread with evoo + balsalmic vinegar with spice.
i had the squid ink fettuccine with seafood - cooked to perfection. i will definitely return to eat here.

diner from scottsdale. great food & service! we have fantastic restaurants in scottsdale and this one could rival most. our server jessica was awesome.

we just happened on this place. very nice restaurant. my group felt out of place in our day clothes/"tourist" clothes. the food was very yummy! i suggest everyone in your group getting something different and everyone sharing bites!

great food, great service; a 5/5 rating. this is a "must come back" restaurant. great food, great service (tim), and an overall great experience. no flaws (other than the noise level when the place it is packed - and it was on a wed night!). much to my surprise, this is a "chain' with 8 other locations in ca, 1 in co, 2 in tx and 1 in wa. but, if you look at their website, it is clear that each chef "crafts his menus based on the seasonality and availability of the local product within his area – from the seaports of seattle to the farmer’s markets of northern california." well, the chef at the la jolla really created a great selection of high quality food.

tim, our server, was friendly and attentive. started with the herbed cauliflower cakes and the polenta with sauteed mushrooms - wow, tasty! then, the beet salad. two entries were tried - the ricotta-butternut squash ravioli with a walnut sage cream sauce and the veal scaloppini with a lemon-caper piccata, sauteed spinach, and mushroom risotto cakes. absolutely the best!

can't wait to come back; and, for that matter, will try the other locations when i travel to the cities where they are located - that is how impressed i was with piatta la jolla.

fabulous homemade italian food. in search of a good italian place i came across piatti la jolla. the reviews were great and picture of the restaurant itself, appealing. when i called they could only accommodate us on the outdoor patio which was plenty warm and a good sign that they were busy on a sunday.

the homemade pasta was divine.i couldn't decide between the butternut squash ravioli with sage cream and walnuts or the ricotta and spinach with tomato sauce.the chef kindly did a half order of each. i oohed and she'd with every bite.my husband had the risotto with prawns leeks and tomatoes. also delicious. we shared the carpaccio appetizer and still managed to find room for dessert.i had the ciccolata, a rich dense flourless chocolate cake which was a bit over whelming but good. my husband two scoops of gelato. very good also. we will be back!

a fabulous meal with incredible service. i had the brussels sprouts and chicken and it was delicious. the atmosphere was beautiful. la jolla is a wonderful place to come visit. the cocktails were fabulous. we had such a wonderful time. we are looking forward to the next time that we are coming to california

great food and service. even the veggie sides were fantastic- we are vegetarian and that makes a big difference.

my 23rd birthday dinner. when my family and i first arrived to our table... we were all surprised that we had a personalized menu that wished me a happy birthday on it! next, the service was great. our waitress was attentive, funny, and you could tell she was having a good time serving us. next the food was amazing. the pizza is great... pasta... and the meatballs. at the end the waitress brought out a slice of dessert for me with a candle in it! super nice touch at the end :).
the ambiance is nice... and the place is always full of people which is nice company.
highly recommend this restraunt to anyone.

i cannot say enough positive things about our experiences at piatti - the service, the atmosphere & the food were each unbelievable & surpassed all expectations - hands down our favorite restaurant during our honeymoon in la jolla. the first evening in town, my husband & i did not have reservations & the restaurant was crowded, however within minutes the extremely pleasant hostess seated us at a lovely table on the patio beneath beneath a beautiful tree and twinkle lights. the wait staff was equally pleasant & very attentive. both my husband's & my entrees were delicious - however we both agreed that the saffron pappardelle was the best dish we tasted while in la jolla. the entrees were elegant & were quite flavorful without being over-sauced and over-salted, as seems to be the case with some italian restaurants. after such a positive experience on our first evening in town, we returned on our final night - we made reservations online & were greeted with "congratulations & happy honeymoon" wishes by the hostess & were promptly seated on the same gorgeous patio at our request. on our second visit, the service & the food were consistent with the wonderful experience we had on our first night - above all expectations. i am so thankful we wandered into piatti and would happily return to la jolla just so we could eat there again.

really good, a little loud. really really good. pretty loud... didn't rush us though for being so busy. i've been in other restaurants as busy and just isn't as loud. still good though! professional servers.
