great food and definitely worth the wait.
when i found out pgh tacotruckwas going to be near my house from 5-9pm i immediately made plans to go. i arrived at 5:15 and the window had not yet opened. there was a line of about 10 people. the first taco wasn't served until about 5:35. i got my taco around 6:15. while waiting in line i was slightly annoyed at the long wait however the fantastic food was well worth the wait! i had the chorizo taco which was amazing. the spicy jerk chicken taco was good but a little too spicy for my liking. my favorite was the thai peanut chicken. definitely will be back for more!

good food, very long wait. i really was excited to see thetruckat wqed as i drove by. the food is delicious, but i really think the wait needs to be addressed. people go to food trucks because it is supposed to be better tasting food (it definitely is), at a reasonable cost (pretty reasonable), and quick. i know people in line who waited an hour and a half and another person who waited two hours!

i just happened to stumble across these guys on twitter...and i'm glad i did. they were doing a saturday afternoon stop with a mac and cheese truck...and i had a fantastic afternoon.

first, a little disclaimer. i'm giving them a 4.5 instead of 5 because i only got one taco. i hate to judge a place solely on one item, so when i go back again and try other items, i might change my rating.

from what i can tell, they have a menu that changes daily (i believe based on what items they have). i tried the simple/basic beef verde taco. it was fantastic. the flavor of the meat was unreal...really something i've never had before. i would have and could have eaten many, many more of those, and i'm sure the others were delicious as well. and, it appears they always have at least one vegetarian option, which is a great thing as well.

however, this brings me to my only complaint. all the tacos were $4 (the fish one was $5). i was hoping for that price, it would be a little larger than your normal street taco. it was not. i know it's atruckand they pay for local ingredients, but the price was a little high (go to mexico and get a local street taco...you could get the better part of a meal for $4).

the good news...unlike most small restaurants in the pittsburgh area, they do take credit card here. so you can stock up on the tacos and not worry about carrying cash.

overall...definitely worth a trip. i'll be going back and trying more. i wish the prices were a little less, but i know that's not going to change. if it was cheaper, i'd chase them down several times a week...but even with the $4 price tag per taco, i'll still be back again and again.

i did go back again and enjoyed it just as much the 2nd time. got the spicy jerk chicken and pork chorizo tacos. both were delicious and spicy, which i loved.

i'm still leaving the rating at 4.5 solely because of the price...at least for now. the food is really good and eventually, it may change my mind about the money side of things.

when i was playing at a pittsburgh pinball tournament at an establishment that did not serve food while very hungry, i was not as thrilled as everyone else when someone ran in and announced, "hey! the tacotruckis here!".  knowing that i was going to eat somewhere else later on, i eventually ventured out and got one taco...the spicy jerk chicken...you know: just something to "hold me over". bottom line?  i should have gotten three of these things and skipped the restaurant i ate at later in the evening! absolutely one of the best tasting things i have ever put in to my mouth! don't let the "food truck" image keep you from enjoying some of the finest food anywhere around pittsburgh...

foodtruckroundup. i drive past the tacotruckeveryday it's parked at coffee buddha on my way home from work. i'm always tempted to stop and never have. i went to the coffee buddha foodtruckround up this past saturday, and if i would have known what i was missing i would have stopped many, many times on my way home from work already! i ordered the organic curried potato taco with chipotle mango creama. the taco was overstuffed to the point i needed to eat it entirely with a fork. it was very tasty but far too spicy for me to finish. luckily my dining partner loved the spice and happily finished it. my dining partner ordered the spicy jerk chicken taco with avocado cream. it was the decided favorite of the three we ordered. i ended up finishing this one. it was not spicy to me and the avocado cream blended nicely with the jerk seasoning. the final taco we ordered was the flank steak with brussel sprout kimchi. this was the least favorite but it was still very tasty and beats what you could get at most local mexican restaurants. i short, do yourself a favor and visit the pittsburgh taco truck-your tummy will thank you!

right...personal beef. nothing to do at all with the fact that i waited nearly 70 minutes in your line and when i mentioned it to you i got an earful. treat your customers with a little more respect. doesn't seem to me line you have it in you to take this feedback and learn from it. prediction - pgh tacotruckwill be out of business by jan 2015.

this guy is a nut. he thinks he's bobby flay. dude makes tacos that are average at best but treats his customers like they are dirt. avoid this guy at all costs.

the pgh tacotruckis an experience, delicious food, fun music and great people. the braised beef melts in your mouth and tastes like your mama made it and the curried potatoes must have crack in them, because you can't stop eating them. pgh tacotruckis love in a shell and a visit with friends. : )

jerk chicken is awesome!. really good tacos. they tend to have a lot of filling, and having 2 is a pretty decent lunch. depending on the location and time of day, there can be a line. i have only ever eaten at thetruckwhile they have been at blumengarten in the strip district, and twice i have had to wait at least an hour for a taco, but the third time i only waited 10 minutes.

the owner, james, is a really nice guy, and he'll remember you if you come enough times.

love this truck.

i have been following the pgh tacotruckon twitter for a while now but have’t had the chance to match up their schedule and visit them. this week at work we were running a few errands and driving on perry hwy when i noticed the pgh tacotruckwas parked out in front of coffee buddha. we decided to stop by and i was very happy that we did. i ordered: 1/3 lb angus ground beef cheddar jack salsa spicy jerked chicken avocado cream chicken bacon cheddar sriracha cream the taco shells must be home made because they were excellent. the ground beef was pretty hefty in size and i would get it again but nothing to make it really stand out like the others. i tried the chicken bacon next…oh man, this was fantastic. i wish i would’ve ordered more to go! chicken, good! bacon, good! cheese, good! put them all together and add some sriracha cream and you’ve got yourself a taco that i will be coming back for (hopefully it is on the menu next time!). the spicy jerked chicken had a nice kick to it, mo

tasty tacos from the 'burgh!. i was introduced to the tacotruckvia a friend and i've been back twice since. i've tried the beef and kimchi, the chicken and avocado, the spicy shrimp and pineapple. they were all amazing and very tasty! it's nice to see something like this finally come to pittsburgh. you don't mind standing in a line when you know that what you are getting is amazing and made with great care. worth checking out for sure!

unique and tasty!. whether you are looking for a unique taste or more of the typical taco fare, the pgh tacotruckis a must-stop at any round-up. word of warning: they tend to get the biggest lines (blame the organic ingredients and fresh taste), so be sure to get there early!

i had the jerk chicken with avocado cream and curried potato with siracha lime cream, and both were amazing. i'd recommend either. my boyfriend had the "regular" beef, and was also impressed. the shells are nice and warm, and they come with plenty of filling--almost enough for two tacos in one (but definitely try more than one taco while you're there).

it doesn't matter if you are gluten-free, vegetarian, or a happy carnivore, they've got something for everyone (and siracha. everyone knows how much better a taco tastes with siracha).
