nice experience. a friend has been wanting to take me to p.f. chang's for quite some time. we finally did it on saturday. we arrived early (no reservation) to beat the crowd - or so we thought. we were told there'd be a 40-50 minute wait. others arriving soon thereafter were told that it was up 90+ minutes. they do have the remote pagers that work throughout bridgeport village which is a nice touch so you're not stuck in their lobby.
the decor is beautiful, but the acoustics are lousy. it was extremely loud and difficult to carry on a conversation. they had outdoor seating (with heaters) that they finally opened up and reduced thewaittime.
we opted for the p.f. changs for two - a four course meal for $39.95. we started with the chicken lettuce wraps. you assemble them yourself at the table. they were tasty and a really nice deviation from the typical appetizer. our server mixed the sauce at our table, but did so without asking our spice preference. the hot & sour soup was dark and flavorful, but lacked in any sort of sour.
we also had the kung pao shrimp and the sesame chicken. the kung pao was quite different than any other i've ever had. there really wasn't a sauce, it was more of a coating on the shrimp. they were tasty, but my friend commented that they are usually crispier. the sesame chicken was very flavorful.
we had the chocolate peanut butter crunch for dessert. it was probably half the full portion and was the perfect size for dessert. sadly, however, it was dry and lacking in much flavor.
overall, i enjoyed the meal and will go back. however, i was not "wowed" like i had hoped.
