peri peri charcoal chicken

ever sinceperiperi rebranded and restructured its menu, i have grown to appreciate it more. it's charcoal-roasted chicken are juicy and falling-off-the bone tender, well-complemented by its accompanying java rice and coleslaw.

in this particular branch, however, wait staff are a bit scarce for those of us seated at the tables near the front of the store.

first time to tryperiperi chicken in this branch, and i must say that i was surprised on how tasty the chicken was. the rice and the sauces that go with the meal really complement the chicken that makes the whole experience to remember. as for the price range, the food is kind of pricey by the looks on how small their serving is.

after strolling around the outlet shops around laguna, my boyfriend and i decided to have dinner atperiperi charcoal chicken since (1) he hasn’t tried it yet, and (2) i kind of wanted to redeem some faith in this well-praised chicken from my not-so-good, not-so-legit chicken first time experience from another restaurant.

for that evening, we had some (sao paulo) 1/2 chicken peri-peri with two sides and some peri-peri chori nachos. believe it or not, the serving was actually very filling and generous for two (though i’d have to warn that sometimes we eat like a bird so that might’ve been the case that night). flavors are so pronounced, grilled just right and the addition of sauces amps it up to perfection. the nachos was a heaping mountain of chips and everything else good. we took most of it home because we’re already full enough but immediately warmed it up and snacked on it as we came home and let me tell you, it tastes just as good. would definitely come back for those.

thierperiperi chicken is the best. one downside, difficulty to avail seats inside the store.

the food is very good since i love chicken. ☺ what i really loved inperiperi is that there's a lot of sauces to choose from. the ambiance is quite good, most of the time they are full. i just hope for some extension. the price is reasonable for their great food. perf. for family. 😊

it was our first time visitingperiperi in nuvali. our order took so long to served. i didn't find the taste of the chicken good bit i love their sauce. yes! they do have choices of sauce for you to enjoy your chicken. you can give it a try.

atmosphere/ambiance: slightly hot maybe it was exactly 12nn, the place is crowded.

cleanliness: yes! but not in the sauce station..

service: you need to wait for the chicken, at least freshly cook and hot!

food: love the vareity of difference sauces for the chiken. pilipili saperiperi sauce!

cost: mid..

don't mistakeperiperi as just a glorified inasal, its way more than that. yes it is charcoal cooked but the flavor is distinct. there's a certain taste that makes you keep on eating (or am i just really hungry). kidding aside you should go and try it out, i heard the spice is of african origins making it really good. they have combos of chicken with your choice of sides with unique names...i ordered a "shakira" which is a combi of chicken and shrimp. hehe

january 31, 2016. my girl and i tried dining here. at first, we felt excited about the variety of sauce we can try in combination with theirperiperi chicken as well as the unlimited soup. when our orders were taken, my order was jotted down okay but my girl's order was not available so she ordered again and again and again, until the set she'd chosen was finally available. fortunately, the unlimited soup was self-service so i got a cup or 2 while waiting. after 15-20 mins, my girl received her order, it was quite similar to my order but i assumed the fish sticks included in my set could be the reason of the delay. unfortunately, after another 15 mins of waiting, i'd been eating a significant portion of my girl's food as well as a number of scoops of soup and yet, my order was still on pending status so we decided to follow it up. surprisingly, we were informed that my order was not available even after waiting for more than 30 mins and i was right it was because of the fish but i was wrong to assume it was just delayed because it isn't, it would never arrive on my table. irritated but still we went for another try, the order was confirmed to be available this time. we continued eating my girl's food and continued getting more soup. 30 mins passed and still, poor me, no food on my table. our cool ran out and we approached the manager to cancel our order and print our bill out. the bill came and we got even more frustrated, there was a 10% service charge, thus, we told the manager we're not willing to pay for the service charge since their service is no good. definitely not a good service and experience we had. too bad 1.0 is the least rating we could give. hope the management would learn something from this review.

while waiting for the first showing of a second chance, we (me and my girlfriend) had lunch today atperiperi in solenad 3.

what caught our attention is the restaurant's design concept. it has a western texas design. there are seats outside, the lights are not so bright, and the seats are comfy. it is not space-y inside though. they also have water drums as their design and it also serves as their cabinet. haha! their crews are also friendly.

we ordered bahia and fernando's. bahia is a 1/4 chicken with one side and fernando's is a boneless chicken with one side and salad. my side is java rice and my girlfriend's is fries. they also offer unlimited sauces with plenty to from. we chose chilli peppa, garlic brew and hoisin sesame.

they serve some of their dishes on a chopping board. their chicken was good, it is not dry, tasty and yummy. you must really pick the right sauces because it is a bit ordinary without it. it also tastes good when you mix it with the other sauces.

we are grading this with a 4.0 because of their unique concept and, taste and presentation of food.
