omg. i am in love with this bbq the best i have ever had.....everything was awesome the ribs oh my....themacand cheese yes i will please.

if you are near you should go. they are open only a short amount of time so go early. the line was long but moved fairly quickly. ribs were great, fried chicken was awesome and the brisket was marvelous. i wasn’t a fan of themacn cheese but that was just me. others with me liked it. so go and have your experience!

wanted to try pecan lodge a second time on a calmer day before i gave a detailed review.

atmosphere, design, & service: 4.0/5.0
we went wednesday around 2pm, upon walking in the line was already about 45-50 people deep (the line moved fairly fast). the aesthetic of the restaurant was fairly nice, nothing special. but i wasn't concerned because i knew with bbq in texas, its never about the experience it's about the food.

food: 4.0/5.0
i ordered the "two meat plate", you can either pick between brisket, beef ribs (always sold out), pork ribs, pulled pork, & hand-made sausage. since the beef ribs were sold out, i chose the brisket & pork ribs. my side wasmac& cheese with bacon, this totalled up to about $15 without a drink (i got a water cup). the food was good, the marbled fat off the brisket melted in my mouth, the porks ribs were juicy & well seasoned without the bbq sauce, & themac& cheese was nothing special even with the bacon sprinkled on top.

final thoughts: 4.4/5.0
pecan lodge is good, i definitely recommend it to anybody that has been wanting to try it. as of dec 2017, it still ranks #1 for bbq in dallas only. the wait isn't as long as franklin bbq in austin and the line moves fairly fast so it's not that bad. hopefully, my review helped!

if the beef ribs are ever in stock, go for it, they never have enough in stock due to popular demand. one of these days, i'll eventually stop by and grab some.

love everything this place has going on. it’s about as low maintenance as you can get when it comes to a good sit-down restaurant, and the quality of the food is just above and beyond. the atmosphere is bustling, it’s really fun with everyone piling in within a 4-hour window. you order before you sit down, and the food is ready super quick. pick your own table, each table has an entire roll of thick paper towel, because you’re gonna need it. you get a lot of food for a really good price. the ribs and pulled pork will just melt and fall apart in your hands. the fried okra is good, and sidemacand cheese is so, so, so creamy. try the banana pudding for dessert, delicious way to wrap it all up. amazing food, i wish we could’ve hit it everyday we were in dallas.

so glad i found this place. i read about this from an article off the net stating this is a must try for real texas bbq. they were spot on. i arrived here a bit before 11am (their opening time) and a small queue had formed. by the time the doors actually opened this small queue turned into a large queue. this shows how popular this place is as it was a weekday and before lunch!

once you enter the restaurants, make sure to join the queue on the left to place your order and make payment. once you have your receipt in hand, find a table and they will call out the check number and your name. the staff are cheery and handle the crowds efficiently and politely. collect your delicious meal at the counter. sodas are also refillable and self serve.

i had a combo plate of 3 meat + 1 side. i went with brisket, pulled pork, and handmade regular pork sausage. the side wasmacn cheese with bacon. i also decided to try the banana pudding. the meats were awesome! it doesn't look that big at first but it fills you up. the brisket was tender, the pork was juicy, and the sausage had a great flavour. all smothered in some bbq sauce and you're in texas bbq heaven. themacn cheese was creamy and the bacon added a great crunch. the pudding was nice with cookies on top and chunks of banana and cake too.

definitely seek this place out if visiting dallas. it's located just outside downtown so just hop on a train to deep ellum. it's worth it!

this was our 6th trip to dallas to visit family. we make a point of visiting pecan lodge every time. if you are heading to dallas and want to experience some of the best barbecue in texas, get here. if you are a barbecue aficionado and you haven't been here, put it on your bucket list. the brisket is out of this world, the ribs juicy and tender, perfect bite. themacn cheese is out of this world, staff are fantastic. there is always a line but it moves well, some great conversations to be had in line! don't panic when you see the line and are worried about a table. they move people through efficiently so when you do get to order your food, after you pick up your drink, generally always space to sit. don't try to have someone save a table, you just screw up the process. after you order, the anticipation for that brisket is hard to explain, well worth the wait. great to see how they are supporting respect life, unite dallas, great community partner and happy to support them on every trip. can't wait to get back in october!

got there about 10:50 or so and we were about 10th in line. opened promptly at 11 and got right in and got to all the good food! this is good ole bbq! had brisket, ribs, fried chick, pinto beans andmacand cheese! all the meats were great. brisket was may favorite. i thought the pinto beans were really good with a nice smokey flavor.macand cheese was just ok. overall the service and food were great and i had a great first experience at pecan lodge.

worth the hour long wait! the brisket and pulled pork were perfectly cooked. sausage was good as well, but the beef ribs were definitely the star of the show---fell right off the bone. we decided to try themac'n cheese, fried okra, and the slaw and we were not disappointed. don't miss out on the peach cobbler!

we're on a 45 day road trip with an emphasis on finding some great bbq. i looked at the texas monthly mag ratings and am eager to get started. went to pecan landing today (nov 5, '15) and was not disappointed. pl is some of the very best q i've ever tasted - awesome!!! i had my first ever beef rib and was blown away. the meat was melt in your mouth, smoky, with a great sweet peppery bark. the brisket was smoked perfectly, cut in thick, pull apart moist slices with a peppery bark. amazing!!! a new benchmark for my palate. the pork ribs a weren't quite as flavorful as i had hoped for but had good smoke and cooked until tender without falling off the bone. the slaw was made of purple cabbage and was too spicy hot for my taste. themacand cheese also had jalapeño for some zip. i totally concur with the tm rating of 4.75 out of 5. tomorrow we're off to taylor, tx and louis muellers. stay tuned.

there's so much to say about this place, yet nothing i say will matter until you try it. it is the best barbecue you'll ever taste--seriously--not hyperbole. my favorite thing here is the pulled pork--it's truly unbelievable. having eaten at all the places in dallas that people consider the best, this is just so far better you'll be amazed. the brisket, and ribs are also great, and they make their own sausage which is smokey and rich. the sides are great too--i recommend themacand cheese with bacon--it's so creamy and rich, and the bacon adds a nice salty and crunchy texture to it. however, plan your trip well--the hours are minimal and they run out of meat every day. it's so good, though, that i planned my trip to dallas around a time that this place would be open, and i even extended my stay so i could eat here before returning to the airport. i'm just sayin'!

if you're looking for real bbq, this is the place.  we got there early evening and the line was already forming.  unfortunately, the beef ribs were already sold out.  ordered a number of sample/combo meals.  included was, brisket, ribs, sausage and pulled pork.   side dish was themacn cheese.  the brisket was out of this world.  words do not do the brisket justice.  the bark, the flavor, tenderness were fantastic.    the ribs (pork) were good flavor and pulled pork had excellent smoke and bark mixed in.   those three were excellent.   the sausage...... heh  was ok just not on the same par as the others and certainly nowhere close to the brisket.    next time in dallas, we will try to get there earlier to order the beef rib and just get more brisket...... it was that good!      almost forgot about themacn cheese.   it was excellent.    the only way to go wrong if you're looking for real bbq in dallas is to not go here.   this is a must!!!!!!

we sampled most of the offerings. the line was very long but amazingly quick. we almost left but ended up getting our food, eating it and leaving in 30 minutes! the brisket was good. the sausage was ok. great collard greens! themacand cheese was creamy and tasty with green chiles. the cole slaw was ok. the fried okra was ok. the pulled pork was really good.

this place is great! i have only been a couple of times but i will definitely be back. the brisket sandwich andmacand cheese are the way to go! i wish i could eat every bite but sometimes you have to throw the in towel when you're so stuffed! i'm considering investing in an elastic banded pair of pants to wear when i go here in winter time and can't wear a dress.

this is definitely not somewhere i could eat everyday, but it's so worth waiting in line to hit up every few weeks. easily some of the best bbq in dallas. grab the brisket,mac+ cheese, and collard greens, and you're good to go.

p.s. prepare for a food-induced coma afterwards. seriously.

brisket andmacn cheese with bacon - wow! loved it! cant eat this often, but it was so good. have it when you are feeling generous on a cheat day. its heavy but yum! be prepared to wait in line if you go there anytime between 11.45 and 1.30, but once you place the order, they are really quick.
