a day spent in the lap of nature at ‘aloha on the ganges‘ rishikesh. a b’ful place to be in natural surroundings, lush green grass, mountains 🏔 n greenery all around with fresh air which destresses the mind n body.
the lunch experience was pure food coma - and that too all veg!
from ‘go with the flow’ menu, we started with mojito, pahadi lemon 🍋 coriander soup 🍜 for rs 300/- the clear soup was very refreshing with lots of herbs in it.
from the large variety of starters ‘grills by the ganges’, we chose bhutte mattar ki seekh for rs 450/- , smoked bhuna mushroom 🍄 for rs 450/- with a strong aroma of mustard oil n herbs & palak chana tiki, a soft cheesy, non oily dish which melted in mouth instantly.
from ‘the floating market ‘we tried burmese khowsuey for rs 500/-, one of our favorites, a creamy preparation cooked in coconut 🥥 curry.
pink penne for rs 500/- from ‘penne for your thoughts’ was the kids favorite, while the elders loved the homely flavors of harsil ka no 1 rajma for rs 450/-. from ‘ganga kinare plated mains’ patna express parantha for rs 500/- was a unique preparation of parantha layered with bhuna masala sattu.
from the ‘last course‘ we had aloha special ice cream sundae for rs200/-.
a big shout out to mr.ankit rawat, who showered us with personal attention and care with a smile; and chef manoj who explained the dishes to us and sweetened ourvisiteven more by sending complimentary desserts. this is a mustvisitplace - not only for the large variety of mouth watering dishes, but also for their unparalleled hospitality!

a mustvisitplace when you are in rishikesh !

we went there for a family dinner, this is one of the best fine dining restaurant. everything thing was perfect - view, service, food! we ordered paneer tikka in starter - it was very fresh and well cooked.
in main course we ordered rajma chawla and daal makhni with palak and mirchi parantha. both of the dishes tasted were delicious. even there white butter was very fresh and nice.
in desert we ordered moong dal halwa and gulab jamun. both were awesome.
food quality and taste was too good.

they had live music too which was icing on the cake !

bill for 4 people was around 2700.

we stayed at the place while visiting rishikesh and this was the place where we had our dinners.
the place is beautiful, nestled within the shivalik hills. the breathtaking mountains and flowing ganges provide a sense of serenity.

ambiance of the location is incomparable. and the place is perfect for a romantic getaway and candle lit dinner with live singing :-). an experience that will be remembered for a long time.

pricing wise - the price is on the higher side for the dishes and the quantity. but given the place and services offered the pricing is kind of justified.

the dishes at the place are named after the places that ganges visits/ flows through and the menu comprises of the famous dishes from each of the place respectively.
coming to the food part:
soups:
1. tomato soup: did not leave an impression. seemed a little uncooked to me. the best part were the cut garlic kind of raw that came into the mouth that would lend the much needed flavor to the soup. can be definitely missed. i will rate is as a 2/5
2. lemon coriander: i have had much much better versions of this soup. the lemon had been added so much that the soup had become bitter and i could not taste the coriander that this soup is known for. it was only lemon. the cabbage added was fibrous and not edible. this soup too i would rate it as 2/5

main course:
margarita pizza: safe play. this was thin crust pizza. very tasty perfectly cooked with generous amount of cheese. i rate it as 4/5

garhwali platter: this comprised of dal, rice, pyaaz tamatar ki sabzi, alloo ki sabzi, chutney 1 with salt, jeera, hari mirch and chutney 2 with salt, and red colored (dont know the exact ingredients).
dal and rice were very tasty, the pyaaz-tamatar sabzi lip smacking. the two chutneys with generous amount of salts lended extra flavour to the entire dish.
this dish is a must have.

hirsal platter that comprised of rajma and chawal:
the chillis served with the rajma and rice were amazing. the rajma was average.

ghat ki aloo sabzi: this was standard fare where tamatar ke shorbe ka aloo was served with puri, with hari chutney and tamatar ki meethi chutney. this dish was again average.

overall the place is a mustvisitfor experiencing the ambiance.

we took a stroll to the place and it got us hook to the view. the ambience along with the music makes it very perfect for romantic dates. for food chef manish and server informed that the theme of restaurant is to serve the true food of himalayan village. we toon 2 platings and both were perfect. himalya ke chulhe se is nice dish, the details are so raw that the rice is made in pressure cooker and is sticky as same prepared in himalayan village. the next dish nh7 parantha was pure bliss with a sumptuous dal makhni and white butter. over and all i would recommend you tovisitthe place , very courteous staff too..:)
