visited the haberfield outlet to meet up with a friend from perth. the restaurant is divided into a casual and more formal dining area. as it was only 11am we were confined to ordering from the breakfast menu or items in the display cabinet. lunch menu only starts at 1230pm.

we had the veal arancini ($5), chicken arancini ($5) and a slice of the sausage pizza ($5.50). the veal arancini was really delicious! items are heated up for dining in customers. sausage pizza was ok. we then proceeded with the desserts which is one of the draw card into the restaurant.
we had the three mini cannoli, ricotta cheesecake and mini fruit tart. the cheesecake is one of the best sellers but it was average in taste for me. same as the others. coffee was good.

service was quick. the restaurant was full which added to the buzzing atmosphere.

the place is buzzing with people. fridge is lined with different kinds of pastries and dessert, you feel like you want to try every single one of them. we came here specifically for the ricotta cheese cake, which a friend has highly recommended. such an amazing ricotta cheese cake! we bought the small one to take home.

the ricotta part of the cake is creamy and light, whereas the cake is dense and sweet. we loved it and we will definitely come again!

this place makes ok cakes but they’re generally served with a major attitude & its a real turn off. the staff are rude & seem annoyed by your patronage. i’m not coming back, i’d rather frequent an establishment that values my business.

come to this area for business today and find out this spot on street conner. desserts are fabulous, delicious well done, i gonna invite my friends here for sweets. the only thing is the plates and cups are very old style, as you can see from my pics, but i tell you it tastes 10 times better than it looks!! nice street view as well, and the sunset is amazingly beautiful today

like many others, papa first got my attention with their lovely baked ricotta cheesecake (no other baked ricotta cheesecake will compare). to no surprise, i became a regular customer at both of papa's branches in spite of the 45 minute drive. i needed no occasion to buy their delicious cakes - i was always craving them every week. although i will say that i barely ever bought their biscotti, cannoli, gelato etc. as they were quite mediocre compared to other places.

however, for the past few months i have stopped coming to papa altogether. it was only a matter of time before i decided that the appalling customer service would finally push me away from my go-to pasticceria. staff were always rude to me (a lot of sighing, no eye contact whatsoever, and sometimes speak in italian thinking i wouldn't understand at all). often, i would ask for a slice of a cake that i wanted to try. however, more recently they have given me lazy excuses me like "it's 4pm - we're closing soon maybe you should have come at 12". yet, when i come at 12 to ask for a slice they say "sorry, we have no more of that cake left" in spite of it being right in front of me. it's a shame that this level of customer service is pushing a lot of customers away - something that most australians deem crucial in any restaurant/cafe. hoping that papa can fix this soon, otherwise ti mancherò bene.

very good service. wide variety of pastries to choose from. we got cheesecake and some almond biscuits. the cheesecake round- the dough seemed a little soft to me and the inside a little lemony? nothing wrong with appearance or texture. the cookies were okay. not the best i've had but still good and not overly sweet. the crust on the slice was better. i would come back and try something else.

i was really excited to try this place but maybe i was disappointed because it was overhyped?

ordered the ricotta cheesecake (slice), chocolate and vanilla cannoli, individual chocolate cheesecake.

the individual cheesecake was quite dry. cannoli’s were ok - pastry wasn’t that crunchy. ricotta cheesecake filling was decent, but the pastry was dry.

maybe we came at a bad time as it was an hour before closing and so the desserts weren’t that fresh. as is though, desserts were just ok and i probably wouldn’t return in a hurry.

hi, i am writing this review because of the poor service i received. my friends and i went to this place for the first time with high expectations because of the 4.5stars rating. my friend bought the bubblegum flavoured icecream and halfway through discovered a winged bug. horrified, i signalled for assistance and after a few attempts of being ignored by the other staff, i finally got the attention of a young man. we showed him the bug and all he did was enquire the flavour without apologising. he came back with the replacement and placed it down with a ‘no worries’ as if we had asked for a favour. this is poor customer service, he didn’t even apologise to us and we were disregarded a few times before getting help. our table was also not cleaned up for us. i do not recommend this place

for such a great ricotta cheese cakes an other delicious pastry had such a crappy customer service sometimes. is a hit and miss, i like the authenticity of the place, but me working in italian places my self an having great opportunity to travel there and have friends from different places gave me the opportunity to understand that customer service is always determined by what they think about the customer and how u address them in the first place, if u r a bit bossy and demanding or just a bit rude or arrogant they could b 10 times worst, and this is normal. i love a lot of things of this culture but this i definitely love, if u have something to say, say it. customer service is not like a general understanding, u can b having what we call here in australia an awful customer service, unprofessional and for them is pretty normal. so i do understand the discomfort i red in other reviewers. yes the arty quality had drop a bit, was better before. i always take away service nothing could go wrong. in any event of birthday party i don't think let's get a cake i always think papas always. bread is not as good as before but pastry most of all r great. i love this italian yammi taste sweets. is terrible if u r on a diet, don't go there if u r in a diet, u will ruin it, once u start u can't stop

this place became famous for their ricotta cake which we would travel across town to buy often -  well you have become so commercial and factory like now with focus on turnover and not quality, that it is probably one of the worst cakes we have ever had.  thick pizza dough-like pastry which is now all over the cake with  some floury tasteless ricotta inside, absolutely disgusting. we will never buy another one.

this place is famous for the ricotta cheesecake. the cheesecake is light and different with the normal cheesecake. i prefer the one with nutella to add extra sweetness. i also love their ricotta cannoli💕. recently, i came here and tried the apple crumble and i really love it! definitely will come back for more

there is nothing more poetic than to celebrate father's day at papa. as you can see in the pictures taken calling them pretty delicious desserts is an understatement. they are in fact heavenly yummy.

the cannoli is devine. my favourite is the chocolate one. beautifully made with love and not too sweet. the highlight of today's celebration is papa's black forrest cake. i can't believe it took us this long to find out about this piece of heaven. there are seriously no boring bits. let's start with the macarons. those who think adriano zumbo's version is the best should definitely try this one. it is not too sweet and perfectly portioned. the chocolate crown as i called it are not only superlative in its relative size but also also in taste. if they can choose the cherry which is little more sour it would be 100 pct perfect for me.

if you want to try various italian sweets then papa is the best place to go! there are way to many choices at the counter so get ready! the pizzas are also divine too! you can take away or eat in. it's very busy on the weekend by the way...
