what agoodplace. i always have such a great time and there is plenty of food for the kids. the oysters trio is the best. my kids like the endless crackers. but every time we come here it is consistent, a treat and the staff are very friendly but sometimes they are learning.

we were treated like low level customers since we got there, idk why, we've been there several times, we have money to pay. food is reallygoodbut customer service is terrible, i left there crying, we are never going back. i swear had never been treated like that in my whole life.

consistentlygoodseafood. the service is always spectacular as well. it does get crowded and waits can be long, but it's hard to beat the variety of seafood in the dfw area.

this was the second time i’ve been to the restaurant. first time was three years ago. a thursday nite and about 75% filled. got a couple appetizers - a “fondue” dish that was reallygoodand coconut shrimp. dinners were shrimp and grits (mine), cobb seafood salad (waaay too much for one person who just shared appetizers!), and some fish and shrimp dish. all dinners were great and the service was exceptional. during dinner we all remarked how it’s awesome how this restaurant has maintained its high quality for a chain. it’s a testament to a great management team!

the atmosphere here is casual. i had the crab cakes and fried crawfish. the crab cakes had amazing flavor and were cooked well. the crawfish well flavored nicely, but could have used a little something to take them to the next level. overall this is agoodseafood/cajun restaurant to grab dinner at.

pretty dang good!  i'm usually pretty sour on chain restaurants but i was proven wrong this trip!  crab cakes were verygoodand cooked perfectly, alligator was not overly gamy, and my grilled seafood (shrimp, scallops, fish) was very good, very excellently priced as well.  comes with grilled mushrooms, onions, and dirty rice.

loud and expensive but the food is prettygoodand our server david was excellent! four of us braved the late sunday night traffic and even though the parking lot was packed the restaurant had many empty tables. we were seated immediately and gave our drink orders. don't be in a rush to eat here, the service is efficient and friendly but the kitchen very slow even on drinks and salads, a trait of every pappadeaux we have visited. we ordered mixed seafood grill, giant shrimp and grits, wedge salad with crawfish bisque and seafood salad. the waiter brought a loaf of hot bread and butter to start our meal and it is addicting. entrees were excellent though quite pricey, even a simple house side salad costs 4.95. the worst part of the meal was the noisy surroundings; everything is amplified here and you have to use your stadium voice to be heard. a couple of nicer things were the real linen napkins and the upscale silverware. total for four entrees, two salads, a margarita, a beer and two soft drinks was $148.72 including tip.

solid in consistency. gulf oysters superb year round. eating at the bar is great. seating is pretty quick and outside dining isgoodin the spring and fall. fried shrimp aregoodchoice. grilled fish with proper toppings are good. seafood gumbo is above average and excellent for dipping hot bread. trying to get into parking lot from 75 exit is hair raising. exit spring valley and take the service road.

superb service andgoodfood. i live on the gulf coast, so going to a seafood restaurant 70 miles away from the coast seems odd. however, on my infrequent jaunts inland for "city shopping", we seem to wind up having a meal at pappadeaux. the last two times, we had the same server and she was really awesome - personable and attentive but not intrusive. jackie (sp?) is the ultimate server! i'm huge on service - excellent food with bad service will make me never return again. it's great that the items we have chosen have always been good. two of my favorites are their tableside mixed pappa's greek salad with grilled chicken added. i often have to make myself get something else so i don't get in a rut! perfect balance of flavors and fresh ingredients. i like tart dressings and this is just delicious. my second favorite item is the mixed seafood grill - a perfectly cooked combination skewer of shrimp, salmon, white fish (i don't know what kind - very flaky) and scallops interspersed with veggies served over a heaping pile of yummy dirty rice. i am a pappadeaux's fan!

pappadeaux is a seafood restaurant that is part of the pappa's restaurant group (along with pappasito's cantina, pappa's bros. steakhouse, and pappa's bbq). now, i'm not a seafood eater, so my opinion on pappadeax is a little biased. thankfully, lent is over, so i was able to go with my seafood restaurant staple - chicken tenders. these tenders were prettygood- pretty much tasted like your average fried chicken and fries dish. i left happy, but not overly impressed. i was impressed with the large beer glass that my shock top arrived in! this glass required two hands to lift. pappadeaux's was pretty good, and we had fun celebrating nick's birthday, but it's probably not somewhere that i would want to go back to. i'm just not into seafood and we've been to tons of places that i liked better

we like to eat at pappadeaux's for the shrimp bruschetta. it is interesting to talk to people about pappadeaux's who you have never talked to before about it and discover how many times the phrase, " i love the shrimp bruschetta!" comes up.
moving on, the setting and space of the restaurant is roomy and nice and dim. noise level obviously depends upon the crowd and if you are next to the family who brought all 6 kids to eat chicken tenders here. service for us has always been appropriate and considerate. two people do not usually have to wait too long to eat here.
most of the entrees are great and i particularly like the lobster but it does all seem to come back to the shrimp bruschetta for us. many places you eat at will have a few knock your socks off dishes mixed in with many othergooddishes. the dirty rice it comes with, however, is not that great.
our overall review of this place would be you need to get something awesome to justify the price. for us, plate of shrimp bruschetta, cup of crab bisque, dessert of pecan pie (which is mediocre) is okay but would not be for others. most of the time the price of the food here just does not match the amount or quality.
so, if you go here you are going to pay for it so go in knowing that and get something someone has told you is awesome and not something typical. for us, we recommend the shrimp bruschetta. anything less and you will leave complaining of the bill.

jg score of 7 ( +3 for food, +2 atmosphere, 0 for price, 0 for no diet dr pepper, 0 for service, +2 for we will return)

best seafood and cajun in the rio grande valley.. they have a complete menu including oysters, crawfish, frog legs. lobster, clams, crabs, fish, alligator and lots of other things that swim or crawl through the swamp.

i had the sauteed froglegs for an appetizer. they would honest-to-god melt in your mouth and the sautee was sogoodyou didn't want to swallow it; just let it lie there on your tongue. my main course was a cut salad with breaded and fried crawfish tails.

i can't wait to go back. i want to try whole crawfish with potatos and corn and a dozen oysters for an appetizer.

in my opinion, this is the best restaurant in the valley.

food wasgoodas usual. se.... food wasgoodas usual.
service was not what you expect from a high price place. server brought my girlfriend the wrong order.
the most appalling was as i left the bathroom a server came out of the stall and followed me out the door without washing his hands. i stopped with the door half open and turned around giving him a look like "really?" he apparently got my hint and did not follow me out. coming out a minute later.
