i absolutely loved it...although i letched after my partner's gumbo, my fried catfish was wonderful. my entire dallas stay i tried to figure out how to getbackone more time. my only caveat is that it is quite busy and noisy, so you probably don't want to use this place for an interview or a romantic outing.

worst dining experience. for a so called upper scale restaurant, this location is a blight on the pappadeux reputation. the service staff is extremely neglectful and slow. our waiter came to our table only to take our order, promise our beverage (tea) that never came and then to bring a check. we had to flag down a passing server in our attempt to get red sauce and they never camebackeither. the food was the 2nd part of our evening. husband ordered a shrimp and pasta entree. the shrimp was very over cooked and rubbery. the garlic bread, cold and rock hard. i ordered a seafood platter that had several types of shrimp, cat fish, crab cakes and a couple of other unidentifiable pieces. it all tasted the same, flavorless the crusts were soggy, and the fish was as mushy as mashed potatoes. in fact, the baked potatoes that came at an extra charge, was the only thing that had any taste at all! for a tab in excess of 80.00, a customer should get better service and food that tastes better than a fish tv dinner. we will not waste our time and money at this location again. i doubt seriously that we will try another pappdeux location, since obviously, they exercise no quality control over the restaurants using their name.

whenever there's a pappadeaux's in town, i'm going to find it and have my awesome meal. however, this is the first pappadeaux's where i was disappointed. the waiter couldn't answer my questions or seem to be making up answers instead of saying...let me find out. my salmon yvette was horrible. it was doused in a overpowering sauce. i should've followed my 1st mind and asked for the sauce on the side. the red beans and rice were bland. the beans were hard as if they didn't soak or cook long enough. the 3 shrimp on top were the best thing about the meal. i tasted my friends crawfish and nearly spit them out. i bleed black & gold so i know how true crawfish is suppose to taste. well, let me say this...the crawfish wasn't horrible, it was different. it wasn't cooked nola style. it definitely wasn't boiled probably stemmed. maybe this was tx style crawfish. my friend really enjoyed them. all and all, i won't bebackto this location.

my husband and i ate at the pappadeaux's in duncanville and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of seafood ! we live on the gulf coad in alabama and are very spoiled with an abundance of fresh local seafood. this was very fresh and good! service was excellent and fast. our waitress could not have been anymore helpful, constantly refilling our drinks and checking to see if we needed anything . prices were a little higher than usual , but well worth it! we will certainly comeback!

pappas dont. ha what a joke folks.

we showed up at 1050 the day after valentines days.
the entire restaurant was empty except for one table, the brainless hostess puts us in a tight spot right next to the only other table being occupied in a completely empty restaurant.
we where a group of 6 and the entire place was still empty and the dunce puts us right next to a occupied table... hello ummm hello.

the waiter made a big deal about how the chicken would take 12 to 14 mins to cook.

the friggin appetizer took nearly 40 mins forget the f-ing chicken they couldn't even get the app out in under 40 mins.
my wife asked 3 times before she ordered to please bring out cocktail sauce with the shrimp, yeah the cock tail sauce came with the desert.

our entire group ran out of drinks and no body would ever come over so i went to the drink station and loaded up 6 drinks and put them on a tray and brought itbackto the table and not one person said anything to me.

the silver ware was filthy, plates with water stains, i had to sendbackmy knife because it had a huge glob of white hard goo on the handle.
not even sure what that could have been.

the women at the table said there was zero toilet paper in the womens bathroom.

the manager dunce lady came over and all bubbly so how is everything, we where like ummmmmmm where do you want us to start, could we please get some toilet paper in the bathrooms for starters, maybe perhaps some clean silverware an not have to get our own drinks.

that place is a joke folks.
not sure what to say about the other reviews that are on here.

they comped the entire meal but come on get real this place is supposed to be a high end seafood joint.

you get a million times better service at a dollar burger joint.

lmao
what a joke

they should have a guy that punches you in the stomach and another guy who kicks you in the rear as you leave. at least then one might feel as if they actually got something from the experience.

pappadeaux is a seafood restaurant that is part of the pappa's restaurant group (along with pappasito's cantina, pappa's bros. steakhouse, and pappa's bbq). now, i'm not a seafood eater, so my opinion on pappadeax is a little biased. thankfully, lent is over, so i was able to go with my seafood restaurant staple - chicken tenders. these tenders were pretty good - pretty much tasted like your average fried chicken and fries dish. i left happy, but not overly impressed. i was impressed with the large beer glass that my shock top arrived in! this glass required two hands to lift. pappadeaux's was pretty good, and we had fun celebrating nick's birthday, but it's probably not somewhere that i would want to gobackto. i'm just not into seafood and we've been to tons of places that i liked better

we like to eat at pappadeaux's for the shrimp bruschetta. it is interesting to talk to people about pappadeaux's who you have never talked to before about it and discover how many times the phrase, " i love the shrimp bruschetta!" comes up.
moving on, the setting and space of the restaurant is roomy and nice and dim. noise level obviously depends upon the crowd and if you are next to the family who brought all 6 kids to eat chicken tenders here. service for us has always been appropriate and considerate. two people do not usually have to wait too long to eat here.
most of the entrees are great and i particularly like the lobster but it does all seem to comebackto the shrimp bruschetta for us. many places you eat at will have a few knock your socks off dishes mixed in with many other good dishes. the dirty rice it comes with, however, is not that great.
our overall review of this place would be you need to get something awesome to justify the price. for us, plate of shrimp bruschetta, cup of crab bisque, dessert of pecan pie (which is mediocre) is okay but would not be for others. most of the time the price of the food here just does not match the amount or quality.
so, if you go here you are going to pay for it so go in knowing that and get something someone has told you is awesome and not something typical. for us, we recommend the shrimp bruschetta. anything less and you will leave complaining of the bill.

jg score of 7 ( +3 for food, +2 atmosphere, 0 for price, 0 for no diet dr pepper, 0 for service, +2 for we will return)

update. i use to really like this place but the last few times i went there the service was horrible and the food not so great just ok. i think it has gone way down hill and probably won't be goingbackmuch. it is pricy but they give you enough food for two people so if you split a plate its reasonably better anyway.

love the deaux's. pappadeaux is the mcdonald's of cajun food and is constantly awesome. the wife and i love to go regularly and have for years. what i love most about it is we like to order salads and sometimes an appetizer then split a plate which is way more then anyone should eat on their own anyway. if you tell them your spitting an order they separate it and bring it out on two plates for you so you will feel like you both ordered our own you just have to eat the same thing. its plenty of food and either lowers your cost or lets you spend the difference on drinks or dessert. bravo pappadeaux's!

mmmmm!!. yesterday was our one year annv. and my fiance and i had quite the dinner. we arrived at the ftwth location at about nine o'clock and were sat within minutes. our server was punctual, pleasant and very attentive throughout the evening. we started the night with the largest gulf coast oysters i've ever eaten. clean, fresh and ridiculously tasty. once we had the taste, we had to have more. i'm not sure what they were called but they were delish! oysters with ricotta, spinach and an amazing hollandaise...perfection in a bite. we also had the oysters with copious amounts of warm gooey baked cheese atop (mm, yes please). then we graduated to the shrimps. starting with a fresh cleanse of shrimp cocktail, we then moved on to the almighty superfood of the shrimp brochette with dirty rice. my fiance says "what's not to like about shrimp, cheese, bacon, and butter"... well said. after our shrimp adventure, we took a stepbackinto oyster land... ordering another dozen of those gulf coast delights. after we completely turned into two little otters, we were surprised with a double fudge brownie praline explosion that was smothered in maybe a caramel or chocolate sauce... not real sure, it was inhaled in record time. this dessert shouldn't be allowed to the public for it's only fit for royalty. and yet, our bill was less than $75. over all, stupendous! if you love delicious reasonable seafood topped off with bomb desserts and great service---> then make it a papadeaux's night!

oysters!!!. while i was on 75n driving past pappadeaux's i saw a sign that i knew would make me eat there that night. 6 dollars for a dozen oysters!

when i camebacklater on that night with my date the place was packed! luckily we found a space at the bar. the bartenders were quite attentive. serving our drinks in about 5 mins after we sat down. the oysters came out in about 10 mins. and were very sweet tasting. usually i like to order some salmon when i'm there. but this time we opted for the appetizer trio. the gator was very good. the cajun seasoning made it perfect. the cheese, shrimp, crawdad bowl was quite tasty and went well with the french bread. calamari was good not not rubbery. seasoned just right and was filling. i look forward to goingbackto pappadeaux's. and i can't wait for the one to open in grapevine.
