papaya

nothing special. my wife and i were visiting from out of town and saw that papaya was in walking distance of the hotel. we looked at the website and thought it would be a fun place to try. theservicewas slow but the waitress was kind and helpful. the salad my wife ordered looked like someone opened a bag of lettuce from the grocery store and poured a very small amount of dressing on it. nothing special at all. i had sushi which was good but not as tasty as the sushi we had the night before at encore. my dinner was the pad thai with beef. this was disappointing. we had eaten at thai orchid prior to this and they set a bar that papaya fell short of. the meal was rather bland and disappointing. overall for the price we left feeling like we did not get our moneys worth. the dinner felt like something we could have thrown together at home and when you go out to eat you hope that you feel your money was well spent.

amazing food. my fiance and i ate here our first night in buffalo, it was fantastic! i had the lemongrass seafood (amazing, honestly) he had the strip steak. we both raved, he felt his steak was better then what he usually gets at steakhouses (keg, milestones). i honestly felt it was one of the best meals i have had, theservicewas great--no complaints.

i got tofu fiery udon noodle to go. it was very tasty, one of the better tofu dishes i've eaten recently. veggies were plentiful and crisp, sauce was delish. the menu was a bit pricey at first glance, but mine was a reasonable $12. great dinner andserviceafter sitting in a meeting all day.

i went to papaya about two months ago. theservicewas fine but there was nobody in the place and it was a bit chilly. i had a chicken thai curry dish. the food came out hot but it was rather bland. it seems to me that they are trying to do too much fusion. my dish was supposed to be a mix between american, thai and indian cuzine. what i got was flavorless chicken with a side of mushy lentils that also tasted like nothing. go twenty five dollars a plate i think they can do better.

slowservicebut a terrific meal. during a visit in fall 2011, my companion and i found this restaurant to be overbooked and packed. we waited for a while at the bar, and then waited quite a while longer at the table for service. we ordered our beverage and meal choices at the same time and then waited a long time more; we were only seconds away from walking away, when our drinks and appetizer finally made it to the table. the calamari was delicious. hand breaded, perfectly fried and served with an asian flavored dipping sauce. every last bite was enjoyed. a spicy tuna roll was also ordered and enjoyed. my companion raved about his butterfish (escolar). both the presentation and the flavors were fantastic. my fiery udon noodles were terrific. however, i had asked for tofu but was served chicken. no matter, there is little that i don't eat. i have been to this restaurant a few times in the past, and have always enjoyed the food although i do believe the quality of the food was at it's best this past time. i hope to be back soon, but will hope theserviceis better this time.

can't say enough about the impeccableserviceat papaya, and the food was divine as well- the calamari was delish, the spicy tuna roll could have used a bit more heat, but overall...really loved the experience.

customerserviceexcellent. i really love the food here. maybe other places have more choices... i'm not sure. i love everything i've had here and their customerserviceis excellent! they also have some beers you can't get else where. i only thing i can think of saying that might not be good about this place is the dumb cartoon people on the walls, but they don't bug me enough not to keep coming back. i only mention them to give two sides, good & bad. my bad side might be a great side if you have kids.
