papaya

i went to papaya about two months ago. the service was fine but there was nobody in the place and it was a bit chilly. i had a chicken thai curry dish. the food came out hot but it was rather bland. it seems to me that they are trying to do too much fusion. my dish was supposed to be a mix between american, thai and indian cuzine. what i got was flavorless chicken with a side of mushy lentils that also tasted like nothing. go twenty five dollars a plate i think they can do better.

love/hate relationship. never fails, every other time i am here- amazing or disappointing. needs consistency. overall really like!

i don't like it. i'm not really a fan of thai food, but i decided to try papaya anyway because i heard so many good things about it. i didn't like the food and i thought it was over priced.

overrated. not a whole lot to choose from on this [pricy] menu. on the plus side, they have a few really good dishes and the place is usually pretty clean.

slow service but a terrific meal. during a visit in fall 2011, my companion and i found this restaurant to be overbooked and packed. we waited for a while at the bar, and then waited quite a while longer at the table for service. we ordered our beverage and meal choices at the same time and then waited a long time more; we were only seconds away from walking away, when our drinks and appetizer finally made it to the table. the calamari was delicious. hand breaded, perfectly fried and served with an asian flavored dipping sauce. every last bite was enjoyed. a spicy tuna roll was also ordered and enjoyed. my companion raved about his butterfish (escolar). both the presentation and the flavors were fantastic. my fiery udon noodles were terrific. however, i had asked for tofu but was served chicken. no matter, there is little that i don't eat. i have been to this restaurant a few times in the past, and have always enjoyed the food although i do believe the quality of the food was at it's best this past time. i hope to be back soon, but will hope the service is better this time.

rude, rude service. when traveling to buffalo, we used urban spoon to pick papaya for a late lunch. the menu looked interesting but we never got the chance to try it. at 2pm, we were the only people in the restaurant other than a few people in the bar area. i guess the waitress couldn't be bothered. she was absolutely rude and made it clear that she didn't want the bother of serving us. very sarcastic and unwilling to answer questions about the menu or even to get us another, more detailed, dinner menu to get a better idea of what to order. we left and and went next door to the chocolate factory. much better service.

delicious food! great service! although water refills were very redundant. felt my dinner convo with date got interrupted by it. other than that great place!!

pretends to be something they are not. sort of upscale atmosphere and presentation with very average food.

papaya was the only restaurant we had a chance to visit this past restaurant week, you received two courses as well as a glass of wine for $20.10. they offered many great choices for appetizer's and dinner. the steamed shrimp wonton's and the tom yon goon

can't say enough about the impeccable service at papaya, and the food was divine as well- the calamari was delish, the spicy tuna roll could have used a bit more heat, but overall...really loved the experience.

offered sample and then charged us. we had been regulars at papaya. this food is good and the prices higher than most. one night we were offered a sample of a special dessert. we didn't like it at all, told them so, they continued to tell us that we should like it and they still billed us for it. we haven't been back since.

excellent, friendly staff. very welcoming. prices just a tad high, but it's the landing. the pho was above average. my wife had a really good marinated beef dish. would like to see a little bit bigger menu, but will come back for what they have. goes out of their way to cater to the boeing crowd with a bunch of little plane models - nice touch.
