come and enjoy filipino food downtown!. my wife and i are moving to the philippines soon and when we heard a filipino restaurant had opened downtown we decided to try it. the owner lorena, greeted us warmly and helped us decide on an order of pork adobo with spring rolls on rice and pancit bihon (noodles). theplacewas clean and brightly decorated with lots of posters and pictures of the philippines. the food came quickly and it was delicious and comforting on a cold winters day. the price is very reasonable and i got a nice large plate of rice covered with pork adobo, tomato, egg and green onions. i especially enjoyed the cut up pieces of spring roll. my wife also enjoyed the simple and savory taste of the pancit bihon. later lorena came to our table and was very happy to talk to us about the philippines and answer any questions we had. we were touched by how incredibly open and friendly she was. i look forward to coming back soon and trying new dishes and maybe enjoying some karaoke and a red horse (or two!).

good eats. greatplacefor a quick and tasty lunch just off 97 st in downtown. the room is simple yet well-kept, looks far nicer than in the 'noodle maker' days!
the friendly owner greets and helps your way through the filipino menu. basically there are 3 kinds of meals: pancit or noodle dishes, and two kinds of rice -based meals which come with your choice of meat/fish as well as salad and a fried egg!
overall, a great addition to a not-so-great part of downtown. hope to see this littleplacesucceed and thrive!

excellent asian filipino food. got intrigue with the good comment regarding this restaurant. my friend and i went there to check. but we were totally blown away by the place. they have totally renovate it. have nice colors with an eccentric wall. theplacefocuses / promotes their country the philippines, the food was excellent especially the tapsilog (forgive me if i spelled wrong) with good vinegar sauce. great price, affordable for anybody. but most of all the warm welcome by the owners.
they should be given a commendation by the consulate for promoting their country.
i recommend also the halu-halu, great cold dessert.
we highly recommend this place.

i never heard about thisplacetil my cousin told me. i was excited to go because the name panciteria de manila sounds very aunthentic filipino cuisine. she sent a photo of what she ordered and i couldn't clue in what kind of dish/menu. it was fried rice, chicken, egg, onions and tomato. she said it's "chicken adobo". well, the chicken looks like skillet, and clearly the rice is the adobo, too much color/soy sauce, doesn't look appealing at all! photo says it all... not going to try and waste money for a garb. and i heard customer service is the worst.

very nice staff with affordable food price.. i passed by thisplacea while ago when i was looking for the noodle maker. well noodle maker shut its doors down. the owner retired. that's sad! but for my surprise there is this new restaurant that serves filipino food. i went there with my friend jaycee to try it. the staff was very nice to us. for my surprise when i was paying the bill with my credit card. they don't get tips in their credit card machine. so funny! but my friend tip them in cash though. fair enough! ok. the food. hah! i had c2 that is a rice topping with sliced pork on it, some eggs and vegetables. i ordered that one because i asked for something very authentic from the philippines. the girl told me it is a national dish from their country. ah! they are from the philippines. my friend had the b1 that is like a traditional breakfast in the philippines. it was rice with eggs, vegetables and some meat in sauce. she really liked. i liked mine too. the best thing i liked was the service. people were very nice to us. theplacewas totally renovated. it does not look like noodle maker at all. tks god it looks very clean now. ah! they also have pictures from the philippines on the walls and videos showing things of their culture. i like that because you always learn things. right? at the end the price of the food was very affordable. i paid $16 for these two meals and one can of coke. it looks like a filipino fast-food in my opinion because the food was made very fast and served on disposable plates with also disposable knife and fork like any other fast-food. but the difference is that they serve real food instead of fatty burgers. lol i still like good hamburgers though. lol i will come back soon.

filipino restaurant in the heart of edmonton!. last week when i was looking for aplaceto eat for lunch i happened to pass by this new filipino restaurant. it is just 2 blocks east of the citadel theater, very near the entrance to chinatown. i just checked the prices and they are reasonable in my opinion. if i'm not mistaken, they charged 7 bucks for pancit/pancit canton and you can add 1 dollar for pop. next time i will bring along a friend to try. just happy to know that a filipino restaurant opened close to my office :)
