what a tourist trap!!!. i'm a local and i do nothing but support local independently owned restaurants. a friend was visiting. this was pathetic. are you freaking serious? $3.59 for an order of hash browns that was 1/4 of a potato?
the ham and cheese omelet was probably an egg and a half with a few crumbs of cheese and shreds of ham. $14+ dollars for a meal that cost $2.50? don't bother waiting in a line to waste your time and money if you want to eat a good breakfast and not leave hungry.

friday morning at 6:30. not sure what is the big deal to wait in line but there were only 3 of us that walk in without any problem to be seated. i am not sure why all the wait for simple breakfast meal. my son ordered chocolate pancakes (they were dry and oily) with orange juice to drink. i ordered an burger patty, scramble eggs, toast and pancakes (everything were dry and oily) with orange juice. my daughter ordered hashed brown and raspberry crepes.with melted chocolate and whip cream (this was the only thing that was good maybe). and we did not get very much volume of the food (little over price in the meal). well, my son and i later got an little sick with oily taste of the food. maybe next time, we are not sure that we will be back soon for overrated breakfast. beware!

the pancake pantry is an above average breakfast at a reasonable price. that being said, the line outside can be huge. at my visit the wait was in excess of an hour but i waited because i wanted to see what all of the fuss was about. i'm not sure if it really was worth the wait. the orange walnut pancakes were exactly as described on the menu and delicious. the service is extremely fast owing in part to the need to move customers through to keep up with the long lines. the french toast was much like the many other places around. i'm not sure about the hype but i would return if i noticed the line wasn't so long.

a conditional "like". it's been a long long time since i have eaten @ the pancake pantry, so with friends driving through we decided to meet them there. we arrived @ about 10:00 am, and the line was down 21st avenue about 100 feet. we waited for about an hour to get inside. if you go to pancake pantry, expect it. when we got through and left about 12:30 pm, the line was still about 50 - 75 feet down 21st avenue.

quite frankly, i'm not sure why local people & others crave pancake pantry. the food is ok, it's a decent breakfast, but it's also over priced for the quality and quantity. i've had better & more pancakes, eggs, and meat, etc... at cracker barrel and other restaurants. don't get me wrong, i enjoyed the breakfast. but, the quality and quantity is definitely not up to the hype. the sentiment for the other 3 people was about the same.

the service we received was exceptional. the waitress was on the ball, serving us coffee when we needed it, got our orders properly right, and kept making sure we were being treated properly.

the total bill including tax and tip was $62.00 for 4 people.

it's easy to disregard the pancake pantry because of its designation as a tourist trap, but they legitimately serve a good breakfast. have stopped in a few times and been pleasantly surprised by the food. try the santa fe cornmeal pancakes. they are quite delicious.

good, for gatlinburg. we do not go to gatlinburg for the food, because it's both overpriced and marginal at best. having eaten at the pancake pantry in nashville on several occasions, i have to say that it has much better food than this location. regardless, we ate breakfast here twice during our recent visit and it is good, for gatlinburg. the focus is more on quantity than on quality. the service was very prompt and friendly. it's a bit of a 1960s time warp in there, except for modern day prices.

misses the mark..... the parking is horrible and the food wasn't all that great. locals love here though.

the chocolate chips added a nice mild touch to help balance out the sweetness of the compote, while that homemade whipped cream was to die for! trust me, it's not that overly sweet readi-whip that you're used to, it's creamy, silky whipped cr

food only ok. coffee good. overpriced - meal for 4 $60 (including tip). service good. cash only (while i appreciate their effort to protect my cyber identity, to charge me $3 to draw cash from their onsite teller is a scam - especially for a $60 breakfast).

tradition...like grandma's jello salad. they say this place is a tradition for a lot of folks when they come to gatlinburg. our family decided to try it out for the first time. immediately i was disappointed when i was told i could not get the veggie omelet without mushrooms. that tells me that all the veggies are cooked up in advance, sitting in a steam well. so i ordered the ham & hash brown omelet. i got a cheese omelet, with chopped ham and hash browns on top. that is not an omelet. an omelet is when the eggs are folded around the ingredients. then, the 3 buttermilk pancakes were on the same plate with the omelet. fail. big fail. our bill for the 4 of us was 50.50. way too much for breakfast. i can see this won't be a tradition for us.

love the pecan pancakes! the hash browns were cooked very well. cash only ! no big deal:) the only down side is the western omelette and morning star comes with mushrooms on them. they are not removable from the onion and pepper mix, unless your willing to pick them out :( . otherwise a great spot !

the waiting line at 10:00 am was impressive.. the grill cook's medley was excellent and took me through the remainder of the day.
