pancake pantry

this place is always busy. still one of the best breakfasts too. it's a tradition that we always go here one morning. grab some coffee and pancakes and you won't be disappointed.

decent food but nothing to write home about. they only take cash but do not bother to let you know until it’s time to pay. the cashier was very rude when i handed her my card and just pointed towards the atm. definitely a tourist trap.

out of this world crepes and extremely filling portion size. i was able to skip lunch after eating here. friendly and attentive service. if you are visiting the smokies, a good full up before a morning hike.

with great expectations, i went to the pancake pantry and was prepared to be impressed.  the first impression was the parking.  it was a grease-fire, at best.  it too almost as long to park as it did to eat.  luckily, there was not a wait, as it was a weekday.

the service was advertised and very nice and professional.  as for the food, the pancakes were light, fluffy and good, but i have had better at many other places.  the sausage was not good at all and the eggs/toast were average.

the coffee was good and the atmosphere was nice.  they had a nice gift area, but as everything else in nashville, it was overpriced.

if i could do it again, i would not.

while always crowded for breakfast with a line wrapping around into "the village", the food and service are both wonderful. if you would like a shorter wait and less crowd try eating here for brunch or lunch instead of breakfast. pancake pantry offers both sweet and savory options from crepes to breakfast fare, sandwiches, and specialty items. eating here is a delightfully, tasty tradition for many.

we went their again recently in support of the town after the great fire.  the good news is that we got into the pancake pantry for breakfast with no wait line (about 2/3s full).  all 4 of us ordered the crepes which we knew were very good.  we had raspberry, mixed berry, apple and pineapple.  the berry ones were the top rated by the group with mixed berry being the favorite.  they were all good but that was the conclusion of our group.  the place is always clean with good service and we were happy to see the place doing well even though the owners/workers had suffered due to the fire.  best pancake place in east tn, bar none!  keep up the tradition!

i will never go back here again! the waitress we had was awful. besides being rude and throwing silverware on the table she kept touching the backs of everyone in my party. like "do you know what you want yet?" and then tapped my back twice!! the food at a waffle house or bob evans is better. way overpriced! so disappointed i chose this as my brunch destination while in nashville.

can't come to gatlinburg without going to the pancake pantry at least once per stay. i'm a good ol' breakfast kind of guy, but my wife loves their crepes. good service, fast service and very reasonable prices. highly recommend!!!!

terrible - go anywhere else crepes are rubbery - no taste. service was - take it or leave it. not recommended. only thing good - location!!!

absolutely my favorite pancake place in gatlinburg! but remember to bring cash or you'll have to use their atm. today i feasted on blueberry pancakes. yum!

glorious pancakes!  i have died and gone to pancake heaven.  

so about the experience...i was torn between the sweet potato pancakes and the santa fe pancakes made with cornmeal. little-known fact and not on the menu, but they will do split orders for the same price. so what would normally have been five sweet potato pancakes, became two glorious cinnamony sweet potato and two hearty cornmeal pancakes w/ bacon in it. and oh so good!!

great atmosphere and service.  what else is there to say?  5 stars!

pancake pantry - in addition for being known to have nashville's best pancakes - is notorious for long lines wrapping around the restaurant and out to the street corner. i fully expected no less than an hour wait.but, when we arrived, i was pleased to see just a couple folks in front of us. we were seated within five minutes. score! we were seated along the wall - close quarters with the folks nearby.this restaurant has been around for more than 50 years, making fresh breakfast delights every day. it's not a huge space, and all the tables were just out in an open room. the servers were busy running back and forth and tending to the busy tables - every single one of them full.the menu has everything from classic pancakes to ones with fruit to potato pancakes to santa fe cornmeal pancakes. plus, if you're a heathen, you could get something that isn't a pancake - like omelettes, hash browns, etc.so, i went for: georgia peach pancakes

the crepes are to die for!! i love the whoe menu---will come back soon to try more--the service was very good and the decor was cute

my friends and i ate here with visiting nashville for the weekend and it was absolutely amazing. we waited over an hour in the snow and freezing cold and it was so so so worth it! our server was so polite and fast. we got our food quickly and everything was hot and delicious! there wasn't a single complaint throughout our whole table, everything was cooked perfectly! i'm willing to wait in the cold and rain again for a meal like that again.

went back again this week, and had one of the top 5 meals of my entire life. i ordered the french toast, and added bananas and pecans, with peanut butter syrup. it was amazing. i also had half of a polynesian delight sandwich with french onion soup and half of a continental sandwich, which my wife ordered. incredible. see my photo above.
