absolutely fantastic food. people gripe about the line & ordering at the counter but it is worth it. get the spiced shrimp basket (best in daytona) or the friedfishsandwich. great jalapeño poppers & their hush puppies are fantastic. also great oysters & crab legs.

not happy with the setting. i didn't like the setting of this restaurant. after waiting one hour in line (standing up) to order our food and paying for it up front, you have to find yourself a seat, after another half hour your food arrives, we ordered friedfishand shrimp, thefishwas tasteless, the breading had no seasoning, no salt, didn't taste like fish, shrimp didn't taste like shrimp. key lime pie...publix makes it better. fries were good. coke was good. the view was nice, but not worth $47 and a wait time of 1 1/2 to eat tasteless fish. atmosphere was nice, but i don't go to restaurants for the atmosphere only, i go to eat. never going back! what a waste of my time and money.

i'll be brief--if you are going for the atmosphere and decent blackenedfishthen you won't be too disappointed. if you are going for anything fried, don't waste your time. this place will leave you confused on whether or not you should come back.

nice lunch place. probably very busy on weekends. we had an appointment near daytona and stopped in. sort of afishcamp feel

had a crab cake sandwich and a shrimp-crab cake special wrap. good.

this is a nice place for a group or a meet up. staff is friendly and fast

never again. my wife ordered the fried shrimp. shrimp had no flavor to them and they looked like they had been flattened with a hammer. only 1/8" thick. never seen shrimp served like that before.

my friedfishalso had no flavor.

i should have asked the waiter for the manager but we never saw her again after the food was served so we left most of the food on the table and left.

not my kind of place!

a big disappointment. we used to go there when this place was jc's oyster deck. same placement of order and seating. the similarity stops there. gone were the wonderful grouper sandwiches. they said that they were out of oysters that night, but all prices on oysters of any kind were taped out. so no oysters. we ordered the friedfishand shrimp platter. the only thing that was decent was the slaw and french fries. thefishwas an importedfishwhich is served a lot to save money. it was thin, the breading was flat and tasteless. it looked nothing like their picture; no crunch at all. the shrimp were fixed the same way. the service was fine, but their food sucks. won't ever go back

great location. too bad food and service don't match it.. i have been there 4 times, and have always hoped that the last time that i was there was a fluke. i have been wrong three times, not going for four. 3 out of 4 times we have been there the line was very long, and the wait until you get to place your order at the counter seemed unnecessarily long. while you wait in line, you are subject to people meandering around, trying to get to the poorly placed restrooms, or wanting to check out what’s going on at the front. i don’t mind lines, but they need to control this one. poorly set up.
once you get to the counter and place your order, you find a table and sit. the food will get to you, it’s just a matter f time as to when – there’s no rhyme or reason to this one – food output does not match whether they’re busy or not – it’s more like when they get around to it. but, it will arrive. # out of 4 times it was even hot. that’s another issue – once your food hits, good luck seeing your server again. you pay up front, so they don’t worry about checking their tables. another thing with this type of “service” is that you only have the option of seeing your server bring food out one time – appetizers and mains show up at the same time – i see no reason for that, but they don’t seem to care. i asked about it once, and got a non-answer, so it’s obvious that they don’t care.
now, for the food part. mediocre at best. i have ordered tuna seared rare – came out grey.fishsandwich – typical frozen fish-like fried product that you can get at any fast food joint. crab cake (i knew when i ordered this that it would be a mistake) flat, frozen, bland – possibly some actual crab meat there, but not obvious. onion rings – a mistake. the clam strips were typical frozen waste of time. i’ll save reviewing everything that i have seen here and just get to the point. everything appears to be frozen and fast food caliber.
overall, this place is in a good location, parking is pretty good, and it should be a good place to eat. unfortunately, it is not a great place – and it could be there is no service, and the prices are not in line for the quality of the product served.. it’s a shame that we are here right on the atlantic coast and places like this and the abomination that is called aunt catfish is what you get for sea food. there are better places, but not so many. you have to pick and choose, and avoid the tourist traps.

wonderful place. my husband and i were introduced to this place over 10 years ago. we go here several times a year for the bestfishsandwich and onion rings and oysters. we go here for special occasions, birthdays, anniversaries or just want another taste of deliciousness. the staff is friendly, helpful and the atmosphere it great. no one we brought there has ever complained of the food. the clam chowder is bar none. just wish all these "haters" had some class and taste buds.

worst ever. my godmother celebrated her 92nd birthday on march 31st. i drove down from atlanta to take her for fresh seafood. we stood in line for over an hour to receive the disappointment of my life!! the food is pre-breaded, frozen and not tasty at all. i had the oysters and advertised fresh flounder. my godmother had the oysters. everything was fried hard and thin. when i peeled the breading from my fish, there was vey littlefishexposed. they oysters were the same. we got up and left. how do you you own a restaurant on the halifax river, two blocks from the atlantic ocean and serve frozen seafood? it ruined her birthday weekend. she was there a couple of years ago and the food was great. new management??

not sure if will come back.. i'm not sure what to say about this place, it's pretty unique.

the food was cooked excellently, we had the friedfish& fries. not greasy or over/under cooked. my problem was, it really had no flavor at all, do they not use any seasonings while cooking?

maybe we had the wrong thing, it seemed quite popular.

lost the touch. i have been a customer of our deck down under for many years over 20 and before they moved to the big place on the north side of the bridge...
i know times are hard but you have to maintain the quality of your food, especially when prices keep going up...
i had not been in for a while and last night we went and i have never been more disappointed in the food...
thefishhad absolutely no flavor and paper thin, i spent 60 dollars and that was for 2 dinners a lb of shrimp a coke and a icetea...
i have sent hundreds there but will reconcider and tell them to go to long johns silvers and make a picnic by the water...
i hope the girls know i still love them but they have to stand up against the bad food...

atmosphere was nice average drink prices. the food wasn't very good. we spent $70 for two adults and two kids(including tip) and left a bit disappointed. it's mostly all fried. in our group i got to sample a large part of their menu. all thefishwas very over cooked. crab cakes should of been called crab patties, they were more like salmon patties then good lump cakes. tuna flavor was good, but pretty rough from over cooking. fried shrimp was ok. grilled shrimp was the only food item i really enjoyed. after spending the money i did there, i wasn't to happy with the food. service and atmosphere was good however.

best joint seaside. located on the causeway of the intercoastal waterway, known as the halifax river.this indoor/outdoor dining place has the best seafood in the area.when i come down here every year we eat here at least 5-6 times.thefishcomes from the charter boats docked nearby, and their shellfish is brought in never frozen from la.or texas.the spicey shrimp, steamed oysters, and crab legs are fantastic.but if you want afishthat was swimming in the ocean hours earlier, order afishsando or platter.i have been coming here when they were on the north side of the dunlawton bridge, and named the oyster deck, they moved to this location for more dining space and parking.and in over 30 years their food is still great.
