opening week for the crew that bought you tipo and we were impressed. thefoodwas lovely with the highlights being the pork liver sausage and the nettle gnocchi. the interiors are sharp, but could honestly still smell the newly painted walls. service was prompt, but it wasn't relaxed and we felt like we couldn't 100% enjoy the experience. we'll be back in a few months.

we were looking for a table at tipo00 (1.5hr waiting time) and saw this restaurant next door and decided to give it a go. the atmosphere is phenomenal. very vibrant, good music, cute fit out. thefoodis exceptional. everything i would rate 10/10. had the pasta and the risotto - al dente perfection. the cocktail i had was very unique and tasted absolutely delicious. the flavours are perfectly balanced. had an amazing experience. would be recommending to all my friends!!

brilliant place for a friday night catch up, fun atmosphere, attentive service, wine selection is varied and interesting.foodwas great with a wide range of enticing sharing plates and a menu that changes regularly. pricing was pretty good.

came here with a couple of friends, after wanting to try thefoodfor so long. we absolutely loved the chefs selection. mushroom croquettes were a standout, as well as the duck pasta and the olive/choc mousse dessert. great modern atmosphere, also appreciated the clean bathrooms! will definitely return.

the $90 chefs menu was well worth the price. such amazing flavours and quality, and really filling which is the one thing some chef’s menus lack.
they catered to my friend’s dietary requirements and the service was friendly and fast.
the duck parpadelle was amazing!!! the coffee dessert was so delicious. loved every bite offoodand will go back for sure.

in general a good place to go our for decent dinner. good value offoodand would be plenty if you order chef selection
service is ok but not so very warm... might be their restaurant culture ??
good experience but wouldn’t be no.1 choice to also go back and revisit

recommended by friends and this is a busy place with a good vibe.foodwas good from the open kitchen with an interesting but a reasonably limited menu with some additional specials. we enjoyed a mixture of starters such as puccini mushroom croquettes, zucchini flowers and house cured pork belly piadina. nicely served and great flavours. main courses were lamb backstrap, pacheri pasta with prawns, baby red snapper and a special pasta of the day. dessert was also a delicious peach orange meringue with aperol granita. all very good and enjoyed by all. we also drank a very nice pinot grigio from the mornington peninsula. overall a good experience and service was good albeit attitudinally not to everyone’s liking. would recommend if you are in melbourne.

a beautiful restaurant that i wouldn’t hesitate to visit again. we ordered the chef’s selection, all the dishes were perfection and it was just the right amount offoodfor us. the wine list is extensive and the staff are very knowledgeable if you need help. service is fantastic and staff are really friendly. can’t wait to visit again soon.

second visit to illaria and thefoodis once again amazing！we ordered the croquettes, scallops, octopus, prawn pasta, spaghetti, lamb and gnocchi. loved the croquettes, great texture and delicious filling. the scallops had an interesting herby flavour a little too green for my liking. loved the chargrilled octopus with a spicy anchovy sauce (highly recommend!). i had the prawn pasta and it was so tasty, generous with the prawns and pasta cooked to perfection. the lamb was cooked so well, very tender and tasty. overall a great meal with perfectly paired drinks recommended by our waiter.

the service is great very friendly staff but thefoodis under expectations. we have ordered the highly recommended small dishes paccheri pasta, mushroom croquette and zucchini flower they were just average. small place which is really noisy during weekends night and we had to yell to talk. this place is little over rated.

been here twice, sat at the bar during dinner had amazing bar service and decided to go back for another visit. however, the second time was seated at a table and compared to my first experience the service just did not deliver. thefooddid make up for the lack of service and was delicious on both occasions.

we had an amazing time at osteria - the staff were super friendly and thefoodwas really good. i thought the flavours in their dishes really stayed true to the ingredient and concentrated on bringing all the flavour already in thefoodout. some of the dishes balanced the natural flavours really delicately, and i really like that. hurray for a wonderful night out.

hands down one of the best italian restaurants in cbd (if not the whole melbourne lol) everything we had was so so so delicious. the pasta was cooked to perfection, sauces were unbelievably good, entrees were served in timely manner and such generous portions (and again so damn tasty!)

i’m used to having only a few bites on a serve in ‘fancy’ places but we had good amount offoodfor each dishes and was so satisfied with everything at the end.

the stand outs for me were the croquettes, calamari, octopus and all of the pastas (we had 3 different ones and i can’t remember what we had hah!)

this place is worth the dollars you throw at them.
