osaka sushi restaurant

my favorite sushi restaurant. my husband and i found this restaurant by chance, i love sushi and we actually travel around with our chopsticks in our glove compartment. we went in and immediately liked the decor. we were greeted by thechefand the wait staff. we were relieved to see no hibachi grill. the key here is freshly flown in ingredients, and a real japanese chef. there is an extensive choice of sushi plus many other choices. i ordered the first sushi i ate there by accident. the columns of choices are side by side and i marked on the wrong side of the column. i got rosanna which is a tempura shrimp sushi. i fell in love. thechefis friendly and very kind, the wait staff are nice and attentive and i look forward to going there at least once a week.

best sushi in town. not only is their sushi the best in town, but they have a very diverse menu. if you don't like raw fish, they have plenty of rolls that feature cooked fish, chicken, and beef. the sushichefis very friendly, likeable, and talented. the prices aren't the cheapest, but they are not over priced either. you definitely get what you pay for here.

the atmosphere is very relaxed. no tacky wall displays or obnoxious top 40 music playing. very clean. the staff is knowledgeable about everything on the menu.

i plan on this restaurant being a bi-weekly ritual for me.

love it!. osaka is the best place to have sushi in lexington! thechefis so nice! the second time we went he had my create my own roll! i like how small and intimate it is.

had the best kentcky roll and vegetable tempura tonight!!! tan is the best sushichefin town!

best sushi / best sushi chef. by far our favorite place in lexington for sushi, and the service is outstanding. the owner/sushichefgoes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome, and we actually are greeted and made to feel like family the second we walk in the door. it has the feel of a local, familiar, neighborhood gathering place. my favorite dinner is the osaka dinner special "a" with the grilled salmon... delicious! but our favorite over-all are the rolls... first of all, they are beautiful and very well presented. secondly, they are mouth-watering and absolutely to die for... our very favorites are the rockin' tuna roll with tempura crunch, and the derby roll, topped with mounds and mounds of shredded "crab" meat... the best part, is the chef/owner's huge smile and enthusiastic personality... all this, and more, makes osaka our place to go for delicious and authentic japanese food in a wonderful setting and amazing service, time and time again, and we don't go anywhere else. love it!!!

wonderful restaurant. we have eaten here many times and are always pleased. the couple who own/run this restaurant are very nice and work hard to make sure everything is just perfect. we like the sushi--it always seems very fresh and tastes delicious. thechefis extremely accomodating and like others said, is open and capable to do whatever you are looking for.

wish i'd brought some home..... totally loved this place!! welcomed immediately upon entering and treated to a delightful conversation with the most wonderful sushi chef! started with uni sashimi and beef tataki.... both done very well! thechefthen asked me how i liked the spiciness of my sushi rolls and proceeded to deliver perfectly prepared sushi with a personalized touch. we had an osaka express, rock n roll tuna, fantasy dream (think that was the name), and a baked eel roll of some kind. the last couple rolls were entirely left to the chef's discretion --- winning plan! he'd also suggested that i try the fire scallop appetizer since it was our first time there! it was super yummy and not something i'd probably have known to order! can't wait to go back............ very soon!!

every time i eat sushi somewhere else, i think to myself..."i should have gone to osaka!"

great sushi, great prices. the sushi at osaka is great! always fresh, maki/rolls are bigger and better than other places in town. the fish is always fresh and is cut generously. their spicy tuna is perfect, and the yellowtail always melts in your mouth. the service is good too, and the prices are right where they should be.

the sushichefcares about his customers, and will even ask if he can prepare something that you ordered better for you next time. throw in the fact that he will take a free sake shot with you, and you've got one cool joint to frequent with your friends!

oh, and you get a free freshly cut pineapple for desert!

a small and very personal sushi place. the owner andchefare wonderful. they have made dishes for us in the past that were not even on the menu. one time they made a nemo out of a shrimp for my daughter reagan for no reason other than they remember us when we go there (even though we don't go nearly as much as we would like. if it were up to me, we could eat here daily. look at the photos to see the nemo.
