osaka sushi restaurant

every time i eat sushi somewhere else, i think to myself..."i should have gone to osaka!"

great sushi, great prices. the sushi at osaka is great! always fresh, maki/rolls are bigger and better than other places in town. the fish is always fresh and is cut generously. their spicy tuna is perfect, and the yellowtail always melts in your mouth. the service is good too, and the prices are right where they should be.

the sushi chef cares about his customers, and will even ask if he can prepare something that you ordered better for you next time. throw in the fact that he will take a free sake shot with you, and you've got one cool joint to frequent with your friends!

oh, and you get a free freshly cut pineapple for desert!

great sushi for beginners and veterans alike!. this is a great sushi place that combines the quality of lexington's hole-in-the-wall sushi restaurants with the creativity in rolls of the larger hibachi/sushi bar restaurants. i ate here with my girlfriend and was very impressed by the freshness of the sashimi, quickness of service, and creative large roll menu. i had the sashimi combo which was 24 pieces for $28.00. the sashimi plate was 6 pcs. tuna and 3 pieces of red snapper, white tuna, scallop, salmon, flounder, and yellowtail. the sashimi came out quicker than i've ever had that much sushi served to me. even before we were served the salad and soup that came with it! as skeptical as i was by a 'new kid on the block' sushi restaurant i was highly impressed with how all the fish was not the least bit unfresh in taste or texture. my girlfriend ordered a volcano roll that was piled high with a very good mixture of spicy crab on top of it that was well spiced while not overpowering the crab. she also ordered a snow white roll that was very tasty. both rolls were about $10. it lacks the ambiance of school or tomo, but more than makes up for it in excellence of product and service.

a small and very personal sushi place. the owner and chef are wonderful. they have made dishes for us in the past that were not even on the menu. one time they made a nemo out of a shrimp for my daughter reagan for no reason other than they remember us when we go there (even though we don't go nearly as much as we would like. if it were up to me, we could eat here daily. look at the photos to see the nemo.
