osaka happy hour m-thr & saw on the menu they now have a weekend happy hour! woohoo!. just went last monday for sushi happy hour. yum. i got the wonderful rainbow roll & the philadelphia roll (2 for $15 or 3 for $21 also found out they have a weekend happy hour but i don't remember the prices just saw it on the menu) you can't beat that w/a stick & they were wonderful. i love their sushi happy hour. i shared my rolls w/my son since they are so huge. i believe my brother got the broadway roll. i tried a piece of it & will have to give that one another try. i am not sure if i like it or not. all tasted fresh & held together beautifully. had my first sake bomb, it wasgoodbut i like the sake separate better. i enjoy trying different sushi places in sa but i am a repeat customer to this one over & over.

is there a 1/2 star or no star option?? i read some negative reviews prior to our recent dining "experience" at osaka. some warned against doing the hibachi but they were old and i thought surely they've corrected the issues...that would be a big negative! my family and i went this weekend and found this place to be an embarrassment when it comes to hibachi andgoodfood service. where do i begin? our waitress took our drink order then disappeared, only seemed to show up to give us "bad news" (out of sea bass sushi, "do we want to wait on salads?" as they made more). when she would return, she had forgotten to bring what we asked for (chopsticks, salt/pepper, sauces, etc...my bro n law had to get up and get several things himself). once the seemingly disgruntled chef showed up, he basically muttered things and began cooking flavorless food (didn't use butter, seasoning, anything) and basically slung the food on our plates. he actually called a "timeout" at one point to go get dipping sauces (that our waitress wasn't) after asking us who our waitress was (how the hell should we know...and why don't you?!" i kept thinking). very umprofessional. bottom line, service & food we're terrible for any restaurant charging $25+/plate! might wanna step it up guys before u become another 'failed restaurant' statistic! lots of better choices in town...avoid. shoguns actually beats this place hands down imo!

excellent hibachi!!. my wife, kids and i love this place!! we always go during the weekday lunchtime for the hibachi. we are never disappointed, everything is cooked as requested and have the yum yum sauce on demand. i can easily say we've eaten here more than 10 times, and they havent failed. even their new chefs that might be nervous put on agoodshow and great food. prices are standard, and service is great. do not go to the bandera osaka for hibachi. we made that mistake only once. (they suck).

just okay. 30 sep 11. we had a prettygoodmeal here on a friday evening. the restaurant wasn't really busy and we were seated within a few minutes. the osaka chief put on a show that was quite entertaining. the food we ordered included steak, chicken, shrimp, fried rice, and mixed vegetables. overall the food seemed to be about average. the sauces could have been better.

sushi is not that good. i got a ninja roll and they drowned it in the spicy mayo sauce. completely took away from the taste of the sushi. the fish wasn't verygoodquality. i don't think the fish on top of the rainbow roll could have been thinner. no taste.

first time. i ate there for the first time over the weekend and was pretty impressed. i ordered the scallops dynamite and longhorn roll. both weregoodbut the scallops were a bit too spicy for my taste with the sriracha. will come back again.

the food wasgoodbut the service was awful. we were a party of 4 and all we had was the sushi. we each ordered 2 rolls and 2 people got both of their plates right away. they had completely finished their food even after waiting a few minutes to see if ours were coming soon, before we were served. when we did get something, it was only one roll. ten minutes later i got mine. then we had to ask about the last plate only to be told they were out of that one! i guess he wasn't planning on letting us know? who does that?!! and my final disappointment is that they serve an endangered species on their menu (blue fin tuna) not cool. this place isn't worth the trip - if you can even find it because there isn't even a permanent sign with their name on it.

wonderfully hot-succulent grilled meats. the mood of osaka was cool & dark, yet fun & inviting.
my friends and i all asked for a teppanyaki table (we were more intrigued by the "steak" aspect of the restaurant's title.)
after agoodlook at out menus to decide, (we were waited on hand-and-foot during the whole dinner by the friendly waiter) our appetizers came out.
we had the tofu tempura, chicken tempura, and the fried gyoza (two of which you can see in the photos i've uploaded); all of it was simply divine (i especially liked the tofu.) the sauce accompaniments added to the appetizers wonderfully.
our cook came to the table and greeted us warmly, firing up the surface (very literally) to start the show. he performed several tricks such as the classic onion fuji volcano as well as an egg toss. the food is cooked for you in a course-like feel, as it is all skillfully made with care. first, you receive two sauces for your meats or veggies. secondly, you have short-grained japanese fried rice (or steamed, if you'd prefer) tossed and lightly fried, then served in generous bowls. the vegetables are sauteed with a light savory sauce, the chicken and fish items (again, depending on what each individual orders) are prepared (and ofttimes a sample is given to each member of the table); followed by the robust steaks cooked especially to your order.
both the chicken and steak i had were seared and impeccably succulent & juicy. the entire meal was very satisfying and filling, and the atmosphere relaxing. really agoodshow!
