one of the best places in edwardsville. this is my husband's favoriterestaurantand i also like it very much. our top choices are the beef bulgogi and the vegetarian bibimbap. the latter is fresh, healthy, tasty awesomeness in a big bowl. you finish feeling pleasantly satisfied and not stuffed and heavy. i agree with the other reviewers that the staff is consistently very friendly as well. and their kids meals actually have vegetables, gasp! (broccoli as a side, at least they used to...or maybe they stopped because no kids ate it). the ambiance/decor is also classy and well done. we always are happy to see a decent crowd in there because this place really deserves to be appreciated and successful in e'ville.

pleasantly surprised. my wife and i actually were planning on trying the new mexicanrestaurantin the same plaza, however seeing the long line of people waiting outside, we decided to try the oriental spoon instead. we were cautious because we were not really sure what korean cuisine consists of. we were immediately greeted by a very friendly staff who made quick recommendations. we trusted the advice, and were rewarded with some of the best food we have had in a long time. must try the tea! i do not even drink tea, and if i do i pour in tons of sugar. nothing extra is needed in their tea, i was unaware tea could be so good the menu is simple and the portions very filling. the flavors are excellent, and the prices very reasonable.

i had the pleasure of dining at the oriental spoon! first of all, i would like to give a big thumbs up to the wait staff for being attentive and professional! i had the spicy chicken bulgogi with a side of kimchi and tofu. the food was good...but not great! thisrestaurantseems to be a modern take on the traditional korean restaurant...which isn’t a bad thing. if you are expecting to select your entree and be treated to 10 or so korean sides...like a traditional korean restaurant, you nay be disappointed. these items must be ordered separately as appetizers. overall, this is a very nicerestaurantwith decent food...give it a chance and you may grow to love it!

serendipity. decided to have our new year’s diner at our favorite chinese only to discover that it no longer existed. wandered aimlessly down 159 in edwardsville till we saw an orientalrestaurantthat defined hole in the wall. we decided to kiss a frog. the waiter told us that they were korean (which we had never tried) and explained the menu.

it was wonderful. on the waiters advise we had crispy egg rolls, kinchi and split an order of spicy pork bulogogi. delicious and cheap. we have found a new favorite place.

loved it!. this was my first experience with korean food, and i loved it! as a vegan, it's difficult for me to find arestaurantthat has a variety, but this one doesn't lack in variety for anyone's dietary choice.

the food had just the right amount of seasoning and was very flavorful. the arrangement on the plate was aesthetically pleasing as well. i left feeling satisfied without being over-stuffed.

for a nice sit down restaurant, the price is very reasonable. very much worth the food and the excellent service.

oriental spoon--best korean food. the food at thisrestaurantis absolutely delicious! order either the chicken pulgogi or the beef pulgogi, and you will be delighted. the pulgogi is fabulous. and my husband says the kimchi fried rice is the best fried rice he's every eaten.
be aware that this is not a chinese restaurant; it's korean and the food choices will be different.

not for kids!. this a review for families thinking about going to oriental spoon. the menu is not very family friendly! most children like white rice and plain noodles. most items are too spicy for kids and the ramen noodles $5 are comparable to the pack of ramen noodles for 10 cents at the grocery store. i did enjoy the kimchi fried rice. it would be a greatrestaurantto go on a date but does not work well for families with small children!

amazing!. i have been here a handful of times and have tried a few different items on the menu. i can't get enough of the gim rolls and spring rolls! mmmm they are so good and that peanut sauce just tops it all off! the main entrée's that i love would have to be the beef bul go gi and the pork don gatsu. so much amazing flavor! thisrestauranthas a great atmosphere to it and therestaurantpersonnel is more than fantastic! i can't wait to come back for more!

amazing!!!!!. i have never been to arestaurantwith a friendlier staff and tastier menu. from what i could see their was something for everyone, even a picky eater. we started out with the mandu and the springrolls and they were soo good, they tasted fresh not like many places that set them under a heat lamp. i had the bul go gi which is one of the best meals i have ever had. it was strips of marinated sirloin with cabbage, carrotts, onion, green onion, and mushrooms stir fryed together. it was marinated in a sweet soy sauce, which gave they dish a really good taste. the person i was with had the coconut shrimp, which according to them was the best they ever had better than red lobster. i would definatly recommend this restaurant. not only did a get great service and great food but it was a nice atmoshere as well.

good food. i hope the menu continues to expand. we had rice, ramen soup, a beef entree and shrimp. everything was very good and i'd have it again. the dining area is rather small and lacks any real atmosphere or decoration. hopefully this will chane as therestaurantcontinues to grow.
