orchid sushi

as a solo diner, was welcomed and felt comfortable in the space.  the meal, two maki rolls and miso soup, was delicious.  the service was prompt and friendly and the prices were reasonable. i would return.

my previous rating was a 5, i'm retracting my 5 and replacing it with a 1.5.  they are only getting a 1.5 because the sushi is good quality.

food is good quality, delivery takes forever and service is hit or miss. we have ordered for delivery weekly for the past two and a half years, spending a decent amount every week. when ordering, they will quote "45 minutes to 60 minutes maximum" delivery time, orders show up after 80-90 minutes and usually items are forgotten at the restaurant (usually equals every second or third order). they charge an exorbitant amount for replacing a soy sauce for a sesame sauce ($3, it's not like we're getting both sauces). they discourage ordering online even though they offer the service, simply because they do not want to pay the fee to menu.ca (they have said this to us several times). their only saving grace is they have pretty good sushi. unfortunately, that is hard to find in ottawa.

best sushi in ottawa.  best quality, best taste, very fresh.  largest selection of rolls to cater to a lot of different tastes.  the only issues we've had is logistical issues with delivery: forgotten credit card machine, forgotten sauces or rolls.  they are always quick to correct the mistakes and are pleasant to deal with.  we order from them weekly on various days and at varying times of day, the quality is always consistent.

this place is secretly hidden on laurier, but the sushi by this family is very well done. i like my sushi from here cause it's made well and the presentation is amazing too. take out is a good option if you're living in centretown.

delicious sushi in ottawa. i ordered for delivery tonight and me and my roommates all loved it! their chicken roll and their paradise maki are simply delicious and the price is really good too! i finally found great quality sushi in ottawa! will be ordering from them again!

try it!. i went here last week and grabbed some take-out. i live close by but have been hesitant to try this place. i was pleasantly surprised at how good it was, the portion of fish in the rolls was large and price was very reasonable. i will be back!

this place has great sushi both in terms of ingredients and technique. the talented chef makes nice, tight rolls with the thinnest layer of rice around the outside--so more ingredients! i had the 14pc dinner combo and it came with comp edamame. next time i'd like to bring a friend or two along so we can try out some of their speciality rolls which, based on user photos, look downright delicious. i'd definitely go back and i'd send friends here too. looking forward to orchid getting their liquor license so i can have some sake with my sushi. the young staff is friendly and i think the chef even brought my meal out to me. fantastic.

just had the fire house roll and octopus sashimi. one of the tastiest i've ever had. a real hidden gem.

having grown up in toronto and being surrounded by an abundance of japanese restaurants, i was pleasantly surprised and very impressed by the variety and creativity of the rolls here; some rolls are even paired with special chef's sauce and add a little something extra to the flavours! despite the high quality of the food, it was still very reasonably priced. i don't usually like deep fried ice cream but decided to give it a shot anyway, and it was the best i've ever had. i will definitely be back, and probably a regular soon!

best sushi in ottawa hands down.. i have had sushi from orchid sushi since they opened, a few months ago. first i have to qualify my taste and knowledge of quality sushi. i have lived in vancouver where you can find some of the best sushi in canada. for the first time in ottawa i find orchid sushi be as good, if not better than, most high-end vancouver sushi restaurants and the prices are very reasonable. i find orchid sushi's creations fresh and very tasty. i have head many items from their menu and i love each and everyone of them. they use very little rice and lots of seafood. the only use high quality and fresh ingredients. the kitchen is exposed to the restaurant so you can see that everything is made fresh when you order. this is a great place to eat in or takeout. the service is fantastic. i can not say enough good things about this restaurant and i hope you enjoy it as much i do.
