sadly disappointed. what has happened to olympia? when i first visited the location a year ago, the menu and overall appearance of the place was wonderful.

they had a gluten free menu which was varied and easy to fine tune to my preference. fast forward to the present.

restaurant interior is filthy, would it hurt to clean the carpets and actually pick up the remaining "crumbs" and other items that have fallen on the floor and been long forgotten?

the gluten free menu is virtually non-existent and the entire menu itself has taken a dive bomb in selection while prices raise? somehow this does not balance things out.

i used to rave about this place, but after today, i plan to bring my business elsewhere and keep the fond memories of the place a year ago fresh, forgetting the current state of affairs.

it used to be good until they changed the menu. salad and garlic toast used to be included in most meals, they chose to nix that and up their prices. we used to love the big plates for a decent price. on top of that, the service went down the hill as well. after an hour of waiting for our food (with an infant) we were forced to leave because we, as well as our daughter, were tired if waiting.

great food. today was our first time at the olympia diner. maybe first time lucky but i doubt it , considering all the positive reviews i've read. we were there for lunch. the decor may be tacky to some but it reminded us of our greek vacation so it was just fine. bright and cheerful restaurant with cheerful, friendly and efficient serving staff. the food was very good and plentiful and came hot to the table. we had lemon soup with rice, a greek denver sandwich and a fresh turkey sandwich with cranberries. everything was done to perfection!. i highly recommend the olympia diner.

cold (turn up the heat)
and not very appleaing and clean inside. (fix the dirty roof panels)

awesome food & amazing service. very recommended. the staff is very friendly and "homey". love it here!! i live across the city but i'm defiantly coming back

love it here!!!! i always go back the food does take long to come out but everything is always fresh and hot! the open faced turkey sandwhich with half fries, half salad (yes you can do that!!)is the go-to!!! *drools*

best place for greek. this is definitely the best place for greek food in winnipeg. it is a charming little restaurant on portage avenue that serves excellent food at a great price. the meals are served consistently fresh and delicious; service is always polite; value for my dollar has always been outstanding. today we had bruschetta for starters, and for our entrée we each had a gyro with fries and a greek salad. can't wait to dine here again!

pleasant suprise. small quaint restaurant but don't be fooled the food is delicous and fresh not covered in grease and the portions are huge.
i've tried to spankopita and chicken souvlaki as well as the calmari... which was delicious one of th best in the city.
just a note - if your coming on lunch an hour doesn't usually cut it, so call ahead and pre order - give yourself time to sit and enjoy the meal!

great little gem. i met an old friend for lunch. the service was great and the portions generous. i had a pork gyro with half salad half fries. it was very tasty and had nice big pieces of pork. my friend had the slouvaki and said it was tasty as well. we will be going back!

you can find me at olympia diner 2 to 4 days a week. the feta linguine is out of this world, and the fries are always bang on. for those who say the decor is "bland" and "boring", it's classic greek, and lively, so quit your complaining. the food is always good and always fresh. the waitresses are always so friendly and attentive. i don't think people realize that when it gets busy, a friday or saturday night for example, it may take a little longer to get your food. don't complain, because it's worth the wait. i've recommended this place to all of my friends and every one of them have had an amazing experience when they've gone. olympia does it right!

bland, boring. we decided to try olympia for the first time just based on the reviews on urban spoon. it was a huge disappointment. the good was very bland, and expensive. the steak wasn't cooked properly and our chicken was in desperate need of seasoning.
the decor is tired, whoever painted it should take a course in painting. it's a sloppy job. olympia is in dire need of a facelift.

we won't be back.

awesome food! checked it out because of great reviews. service was excellent. made every effort to accommodate dietary concerns. definitely eat here again. an awesome start to date night!

this place is terrible, i took my wife there for valentines day only based on the 92% score on urban spoon, the food tasted like nothing but oil , the bread was hard and the service was bad when three other tables that came after us were served before us. we were very disappointed because this was not good greek food at all.2 thumbs down..

first time visiting, had chicken parmesan. was super tasty but took a long time to get it (half-hour) and didn't come with garlic bread, which you'd figure would be automatic. it was expensive at $17.95. so even tho i liked it, definitely won't mark it down as a place to go back to.

overall ok, long wait for food just ok service. the chicken pita was polo park typical pita and lime juice potatoes had to much oil. other than that don't recommend to bad they had such a great rating and i expected more. please owners you need to pay attention to new people going to your restraint not just the regulars.
