successful reopening after the fire. we called ahead for seating and while we still had to wait, the delay wasn't too significant compared to those who walked in without a call-ahead.
with 5 diners, we were seated in the main dining room at a 4-top with a fifth chair off to the side. the table was a cramped for 4 and very cramped for 5 with utensils and napkins for everyone in a large stein on the table.
we ordered several appetizers -frieddill pickles, cheese spatzle and potato pancakes. these, along with our beer orders, arrived fairly quickly. thefriedpickles were very hot, fresh out of the fryer. the potato pancakes were very tasty, complimented nicely by the homemade apple sauce.
i ordered pork schnitzel that was accompanied by spatzle and red cabbage. the schnitzel was quite good - wellfriedand nicely complimented by the side dishes. the spatzle was a bit flavorless but the red cabbage was excellent, full of flavor!!
it's good to see the old stein inn has recovered well from their fire - we'll be back in the future!!
