family owned and operated restaurant serving tex-mex. don't fill up on the complimentary tortilla chips and spicy salsa as you'll want to reserve your appetite. we shared an appetiser of chile con queso, beef mince nachos and chicken enchilada. although relatively quiet during the lunchtime we went, theplacehad a nice atmosphere and the food was tasty.

um, no.. the service, for the sunday i went, was pretty good being there were huge crowds. i've heard a lot of good things about thisplacebut i was very disappointed with it afterwards. glad i wasn't paying.

first off, the service is the best. no complaints and the wait staff actually have manners. the food was or is a huge let down. salsa and chips. chips were old and cold, and salsa tasted like hot catsup. it was just unusually sweet. waiting on my food to arrive, because the were busy, i ordered the coronarita. hmm that was another disappointment because the margarita tasted like it had splenda or other artificial sweetener in. i don't like splenda at all and i can tell when something has it. the corona reacted with the bottle cap as well.

one of the things i order at a new tex/mexplaceare fajitas. you really can not screw up fajitas its just meat and seasoning. well my fajitas came and they looked nice and had the sizzle but i felt the chicken had no flavor. beef was pretty good. tortillas, white corn, tasted like mission brand or full of preservatives. it's something i can get over.

overall the food here is below average and some of the menu items made no sense, for instance a breakfast taco, single, for over $3. maybe it's me but i usually pay a buck and a half at the most.

i won't be coming here again, parking is tight by the way and limited for handicap. again the service is very good.

terrible - spend your money somewhere else!. just had an early supper there - we tried the ojeda's platter to sample a little of everything - big mistake - the cheese sauce is just that canned stuff - the guacamole is not fresh - probably the frozen variety and the "puffy" taco is just a greasy mess of oily meat, cheese and lettuce on top. don't even think about the beef enchaladas - very greasy, not much meat and smothered in a dark brown refried "mess" - doubt that my doggy would eat this stuff. additionally there was a customer a couple of tables away who clearly had too many margaritas and was retelling his high school football stories so loudly the wholeplacecould hear and the owner was standing there ""eating it up"" and not trying to quiet the customer - several patrons were giving unapproving glances. i will never go back - and the food is medium to high priced - much better food - fresher food at a better price at other locations.

best tex-mex. i may be biased because i have been going to ojedas since before i was born and i ate my first solid food there (refried beans) 30 yrs ago. my favorite is the night hawk dinner! my mom loves fave is the sour cream chicken enchiladas and my dad's favorite is the puffed taco. there are many tex-mex places in dallas and you may not love thisplaceas much as i do but i am sure you will have to agree it is high quality food!

ojeda's sauce never has time to get old.. after herrera's denton drive thisplaceis the best. brenda should just stay at home and eat tv dinners. the sauce is used so quickly it never gets old and is delicious. drinks are great and the crowd is beautiful.

given that there are multiple locations of ojeda's, it's wise to note the location being reviewed. the maple ave location appears to be the center of the ojeda universe, though there are other locations (none of which i have tried).

a lot of emphasis is given to fast seating and service, spicy salsa and decent margaritas (reportedly strong, but not so special in the taste department). portions are typically large for the money. ojeda's delivers value.

two dishes stand out: the sour cream chicken enchiladas - understated yet rich and creamy, and the brisket tacos - tender and earthy with the taste of good meat.

in many ways theplacereminds me of a road house, reliable and aplaceyou can take guests without fear. but it's also kind of utilitarian --- nothing stands out and rocks your world. it's just darn good and the price can't be beat.

dallas landmark. i've been preaching the good word of ojeda's for several years. it is my absolute favorite tex-mexplacein dallas. i have braved the crowd on countless wednesdays to get a taste of the wednesday special. like most places, they offer an enchilada dinner (beef) with rice and refried beans.

the folks at ojeda's know how to "turn and burn." they can seat a table, provide great service, and get you out the door in record time. i'm sure the staff that survives on tips doesn't mind the quick turnaround. i know that diners at lunch don't mind it at all.

it seems like every time i take someone to ojeda's they are immediate converts. it doesn't take long for a first timer to call me and ask to go back. since most folks don't know their way around that neighborhood, i don't mind being their gateway to such a great stop.

if you like tex-mex, there's no better stop than the original ojeda's. their cheese enchiladas and puffed tacos are worth a try if you miss the special on a wednesday.
