this money-grabbing restaurant chain now charges $1.50 for 3 tortillas.  they have become an official money grubber.  they are trying to squeeze every cent they can out of their customers ... thefoodquality and service now reflects this attitude ... indeed this used to be a really great restaurant ... no more.   avoid ojeda's.  don't reward this attitude.  thanks

family owned and operated restaurant serving tex-mex. don't fill up on the complimentary tortilla chips and spicy salsa as you'll want to reserve your appetite. we shared an appetiser of chile con queso, beef mince nachos and chicken enchilada. although relatively quiet during the lunchtime we went, the place had a nice atmosphere and thefoodwas tasty.

um, no.. the service, for the sunday i went, was pretty good being there were huge crowds. i've heard a lot of good things about this place but i was very disappointed with it afterwards. glad i wasn't paying.

first off, the service is the best. no complaints and the wait staff actually have manners. thefoodwas or is a huge let down. salsa and chips. chips were old and cold, and salsa tasted like hot catsup. it was just unusually sweet. waiting on myfoodto arrive, because the were busy, i ordered the coronarita. hmm that was another disappointment because the margarita tasted like it had splenda or other artificial sweetener in. i don't like splenda at all and i can tell when something has it. the corona reacted with the bottle cap as well.

one of the things i order at a new tex/mex place are fajitas. you really can not screw up fajitas its just meat and seasoning. well my fajitas came and they looked nice and had the sizzle but i felt the chicken had no flavor. beef was pretty good. tortillas, white corn, tasted like mission brand or full of preservatives. it's something i can get over.

overall thefoodhere is below average and some of the menu items made no sense, for instance a breakfast taco, single, for over $3. maybe it's me but i usually pay a buck and a half at the most.

i won't be coming here again, parking is tight by the way and limited for handicap. again the service is very good.

i will admit depending on the time you may get different sized portions. i have never left hungry and most time take togo. if someone says the quality is bad then they are lying but they might not like thefoodand that's fine.

i love the guiso, like wela used to make. the drinks can really get you there, where ever that is for you. keep going and you will start to like a waiter or dish and really find yourself there when you least expect. i went to the grand lux for my bday. my wife chose ojeda's, so you make up your mind.

best mex. this is by far the best mexicanfoodyou can get in texas. i am from houston, so i have had my fair share of mexicanfoodand this is unmatched. the chips and hot sauce, yes hot sauce, not salsa, are amazing. the ojeda's dinner is my go to choice every time. nom nom nom. a tostada with queso, followed by a side of guacamole, followed by the grand finale of 2 enchiladas and a puffed taco. can't go wrong.

really good food. i'm not sure why there are some negative reviews here. i suppose everyone has different tastes. i went here for lunch twice last week, and thefoodand service were great. the prices are also modest. all of my co-workers, some mexicanfoodsnobs like me, also liked it. the enchiladas verdes and refried beans are excellent.

wasn't bad food...12-10-11. i'm so glad to know that thefoodwas not as bad as anticipated? after reading the review's i must say i was quite pleased with my meal and especially the service...the guys and the girl were very attentive to our needs given that this was a huge party we were part of! the skinny little waiter with that cute smile wasn't bad looking at all. i just wished i had gotten his name to thank him for the nice service and the cute smiles he would give me & for that i give ya'll double bonuses...lol

i would recommend this restaurant to others and plan on coming back myself again even if to see the cute skinny tall waiter with that kind smile =)

terrible - spend your money somewhere else!. just had an early supper there - we tried the ojeda's platter to sample a little of everything - big mistake - the cheese sauce is just that canned stuff - the guacamole is not fresh - probably the frozen variety and the "puffy" taco is just a greasy mess of oily meat, cheese and lettuce on top. don't even think about the beef enchaladas - very greasy, not much meat and smothered in a dark brown refried "mess" - doubt that my doggy would eat this stuff. additionally there was a customer a couple of tables away who clearly had too many margaritas and was retelling his high school football stories so loudly the whole place could hear and the owner was standing there ""eating it up"" and not trying to quiet the customer - several patrons were giving unapproving glances. i will never go back - and thefoodis medium to high priced - much betterfood- fresherfoodat a better price at other locations.

best tex-mex. i may be biased because i have been going to ojedas since before i was born and i ate my first solidfoodthere (refried beans) 30 yrs ago. my favorite is the night hawk dinner! my mom loves fave is the sour cream chicken enchiladas and my dad's favorite is the puffed taco. there are many tex-mex places in dallas and you may not love this place as much as i do but i am sure you will have to agree it is high quality food!

enjoyed. went to ojeda's (oak lawn) tonight on the recommendation of a friend. was not disappointed.

the salsa was very peppy but flavorful. i can handle a lot of heat in my food, and even for me the salsa brought taste buds to attention. if you don't like a decent amount of spice (heat), you won't be able to handle their salsa. good idea to have your drinks arrive before you eat the salsa.

i had the spinach enchiladas w/ grilled chicken on top (pic uploaded). the combo of flavors works well together. i ate some of the grilled ckn by itself away from everything else: one bite was bland, the other bite had flavor. when combined w/ the tortilla, spinach and tomatillo sauce it was flavorful.

the dinner plate was served w/ rice and beans. the rice was some of the most tasty spanish rice i've had. it was also not the stereotypical dried-out spanish rice common in most tex mex restaurants. it was fresh. don't know if that was luck of the draw, or if they had just made a batch and my plate was one of the firsts, but i can say it was very flavorful and very fresh.

the chips of the chips-n-salsa were also fresh. they were not greasy in the least. crisp, crunchy. the tomatillo sauce on the main dish was very fresh. the refried beans were good: not dried-out either.

i also had a bite of my dinner companion's beef taco. the ground beef was extremely flavorful--some of the better ground beef in a taco i've had anywhere. that was a pleasant surprise, as most ground beef is par-for-the-course predictable.

to finish things off, sopapillas. light, airy, and generous portions of cinnamon and sugar which made them very very good.

our server was ismael. he was attentive and very much on the ball. outstanding service. ourfoodcame out quickly and was hot.

great first experience at ojeda's oak lawn. will definitely put this one on the circuit.
