nonna's pasta & pizzeria

now i did not wonder why or how nonna's earned its high rating here on zomato. everything weorderedfor our late valentine's date was so delicious. it is also obvious that their pizza dough is fresh and made from scratch because of its taste. up until now, my boyfriend still can't get over with their seafood aglio olio. ❤️

it is not just a hype! the rating is real! all food that weorderedare superb! pizzas were cooked perfect. soft and chewy dough with savory flavours and sauces. we love the mushroom chicharon, truffle pasta and the nonna’s pizza!!! ask for the chili oil and your dining experience will be perfect. we had a great birthday dinner with my family! it is difinitely a good find here in zomato!

came here for lunch with my sibs, been wanting to try this resto for a long time now, because of good reviews, my first order was their famous mushroom chicharon which was not available, staff said its monday, it got out of stock during the weekends bec there were more customers during weekends, i was very disappointed so they found a way to contact their sister mama lou’s and found its available there, so they got it immediately and it took them 35 mins to serve it. my next order was the payday pizza, which was also not available, so i had to settle with margherita, it was good though, esp if paired with the hot honey, it was really good. we alsoorderedthe ciao-viche which was also not available, it was quite disappointing really, it was only 12:30, they opened at 11, all my orders were mostly not available, i didn’t want to get mad or something but i was hungry and i came from a 24hrs duty. we then decided to order the salted egg pasta, couldn’t pronouce the last name, dunno a lot about italian, but well, it wasn’t good, no salted egg after taste. we had the truffle pasta, i liked it, esp the pasta, the three cheese ravioli was the savior of the day, it was really really good, in the end, i got 300pesos discount coz of some app, price was ok, service was good also, its not entirely their fault all my initial orders were not available. oh btw, i love the wild arugula with burrata

we were curious with the very high rating of this place and wow, this did not disappoint!

staff was very attentive and courteous. the food was really delicious and the serving size was big. there were 7 of us and weordered3 appetizers, 2 pizzas, and 7 pastas (1 per person). we were overwhelmed when our orders came in because the pasta can actually be shared by 2 people as we had other food for sharing. 😂

my favorites here are: mozzarella sticks, mushroom chicharon, all meat pizza, nonna's special pizza, classic lasagna, and truffle mushroom ravioli (ahhhh the cream sauce was soooooo good).

if you're in nuvali, definitely eat here!!! they don't scrimp on the ingredients and they really know how to serve good italian food.

roast beef pizza for the win! the arugula blended well with the ribeye slices.

salted egg tagliatelle was the most palatable among all the pasta we'veordered(probably because i also prefer white sauce over tomato sauce). nevertheless, the spaghetti bolognese and truffle pasta were equally delicious.

i also enjoyed the mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers but didn't like the sauce that came with it.

this is a vegan friendly restaurant. weorderedtheir margharita pizza, 4-formaggi pizza, pasta all' arrabiatta, truffle mushroom pasta and vengole olio pasta. the two pizzas weorderedwere basically the same. my friend didn't like the truffle mushroom pasta that much because of the strong taste. pasta all' arrabiatta was my favorite among the pastas we ordered.

they had large servings for pasta and the pizzas were larger than i expected so i think it was worth the price. the restaurant was very cute and insta worthy 👌

before we go into the food menu, let me just say, nonna's has got to be one of the best in this region when it comes to customer service. they were accommodating, the team is professional, and our requests were provided. 

now, let's go to the menu: 

when ordering at nonna's make sure to order any of their appetizers. i recommend the mozzarella sticks, but everything on the list tastes great. 

they have a wide variety of pizza items, and they have a good reason for it. pizza is probably nonna's best suit. nonna's special, four formaggi, spinach, and goat cheese were terrific! espanyola is so-so. the other thing i loved about their pizza is the crust. i don't think you'll find anything similar to their crust in laguna. pizzas definitely give you a reminiscent vibe of italy, and the ingredients taste fresh. tomato paste is bitter (for traditional filipino tasters), but it was perfect for me. the right blend of tomato, basil, and high-quality cheese takes this to the top!

the reasons why i didn't give it a 5-star rating were because of two things: the pasta and the wine. 

since it's an italian place, don't come here expecting a sweet filipino spaghetti. go to jollibee for that (not that there's anything wrong with jolibee. this is not a snobbish comment). however, even if we came there seeking italian tastes, almost all of our pasta menu was bland. the biggest disappointment was the mac n' cheese. as the name implies, the cheese should've been the highlight of the dish, but as soon as i tasted the first bite, it felt like macaroni baked in an oven. no cheese taste, no seasoning. just plain macaroni in a hot plate. yes, the ravioli and the lasagna were bearable; they're okay, but most of the pasta dishes weorderedwere bland (and weorderedquite a variety). 

i'm quite hopeful to see nonna's improve since there are not many high-quality restos in the area. yes, they are expensive ones, but none that really matches the value of their price. i would love to go here every fridays for an intimate dinner with family, but i don't think we'd be ordering pasta or other mains anytime soon.

had dinner here with my friends last sunday. the place was busy, but the staff were still able to prepare us a table inside. the place has really great ambiance, inside and even with the tables outside the restaurant. our attending server immediately served us with water and the menu.weorderedmozzarella sticks, aglio olio, spaghetti amatriciana, and all meat pizza. the food was great, i only have some minor issues. the mozzarella sticks were served right away, but were not hot enough for them to be elastic and have that wow cheese-pull factor. also, the crust of the pizza was inconsistent, there were parts that were crispy, but there were also parts that were soggy. but, the attentiveness of the staff made the experience better. for most of the time, we didn't have to ask them to refill our water, they are constantly going around the tables making sure everyone's served right. the pasta dishes have good amount of serving and the noodles were cooked perfectly al dente. also, they have this condiment availble on the table which is a combination of honey and chili flakes. that condiment plus the all meat pizza was heaven. if you like waffles and chicken plus maple syrup, then you'll also like this combination of sweet, spicy, and savory. overall, the experience was great and we'll surely come back with more friends.

the food is fine but the experience is not. weorderedlucca pizza which is so salty because of its added ingredient, bagoong...i don't prefer to visit here again.

went here on a sunday afternoon to celebrate my sister's birthday. weordereda selection of pasta (red,white,olio based), some appetizers (asparagus, chicharon mushroom) and pizzas.

the staff were very accommodating and friendly. they even sang a birthday song for my ate 😂😂.

worth the price. will definitely come back here.

visited last november 29. weorderedmushroom chicharon, truffle pasta, spaghetti arrabiata, and two pizzas with four flavours. yasss. more flavours, more fun.! we combined margherita and tutti formaggi, and all meat(which is kinda salty but still good) and pizza bianco. the pasta serving is good for two persons. i tried the nonna's lemonade and i love the minty taste of it. overall, the food was great, the service is fast and the ambiance is beautiful. will be back again.

all the food items weorderedwere good! eggplant parmigiana has excellent cheese, margherita pizza has non-greasy crust, and mushroom chicharon is a funny mix of healthy and sinful goodness.

service was beyond excellent! they were very observant and offered bag hooks when we couldn't fit our things on the chair. everyone was friendly and quick at serving!

interior and exterior of the restaurant are both beautiful and definitely photo-worthy. the christmas decoration added an extra touch of jolly vibes! next time, we're gonna try eating outside.

if you happen to be in sta. rosa looking for a unique place to eat that you can't find elsewhere, nonna's nuvali is a good choice. this easily became an addition to the few notable establishments that serves decent pizza and pasta.

it is located at the al fresco dining hubs in solenad 3. the outdoor seating area is surrounded by garden plants and beautiful string lights at night. the interiors is an appealing sight of modern industrial design. ideal for intimate family dinners and date nights.

i often select the classic dishes on my first visit. tried the margherita (p295), truffle pasta (p295), and mushroom chicharon (p160). the latter is the only thing i dislike. the chicharon appears to be oily and mushy. wished iorderedthe mozarela sticks instead.

i must commend the efficient service. food is served fast and also observed that each guest is attended with grace. strongly recommends nonna's for south dwellers, shoppers, and visitors of nuvali magical field of lights. it is worth a try 🍕

the restaurant features warm lighting and wood accents. in our last visit, weorderedinsalata crepe, pizzas (spinach goat cheese, tutti formaggi) and pasta (vesuvio).
their best seller and our favorite, the vesuvio was a blast! it just explodes with flavors with a generous serving of sauce, meet and cheese. you have to try it!

i'm about to go to tagaytay and stopped by nuvali to have some lunch. someone recommended me this restaurant, my friend says it's like mama lou's so definitely a go for me. iordereduni caviar pasta, anything with caviar is definitely the one i'm gonna order. and it's so good and creamy! the pasta was nice, i thought uni and caviar will not be a dynamic combo but it is! the service was amazing and the ambiance was very homey.
