nobu - four seasons hotel

not my first visit but my first review, despite a confirmed reservation and theplacewas almost empty i had an issue with table i have requested, food experience has almost been fantastic , ordered the following:

1- 10 pcs wagyu beef spicy ponzu tacos 4.5/5
2- 10 pcs lobster wasabi tacos 5/5 my all time favourite.
3- rock shrimp tempura with creamy spicy 3.5/5
4- chicken wings
5- wagyu gyoza 4.5/5
6- chicken wings 4/5
7- scallop with spicy wasabi pepper sauce 5/5
8- creamy california suchi 4/5
9- bento box 3.5/5
10- carmelized vanilla cake 4/5

one of the best fine restaurant in doha.
excellent sushi and good variety of drinks, helpful waiters and waitresses. amazing view and architecture make thisplacevery special.
good for special occasions. children under 12 are not allowed except friday brunch.

super fancy place. with very nice location and view at the middle of the sea. however , veryy limited variety of food. it is a japanese restaurant but they have very limited options of sushi, ura maki, sashimi, and salads. with super small portions for high prices .
not recommended if you are willing to go to a fancy japanese dinner.
but very goodplacefor drinks .

first night of 2019 to visit theplacewith friends to catch up.placewas not crowded on a monday night and selection of drinks under happy hour are all amazing but regardless of the food menu the fish and chips it was totally unexpected.. when the food came 2 pcs of tempura strips that’s how the fish and chips looks like when you have a bite you will just taste the potato you can’t even taste the fish seems like the fish was tasteless though food presentation was ok.

had my birthday dinner here. great ambiance, love the decoration, excellent service, generous portion, tasty food came out fast, & serving plates were changed before every dish. theplacewas empty when we reached at 6.30 on a saturday night but the crowd came around 7-8 so better make your reservation to secure good seats. 

ordered:
1) black cod yuzu miso (recommended) - oh my goodness, the cod just melts in your mouth, love the crispy skin too
2) lobster & artichoke salad with dry miso (recommended) - the whole dish is a perfect mixture of soft & crunchy elements. looove the silky smooth noodle underneath (salivating just even thinking about it)
3) new style salmon sashimi (recommended) - not your typical cold sashimi, this style is warm but wow.. we were so closed to order 2nd plate of this, can't get enough of it.
4) miso chocolate sphere - a tad sweet for me, but love the theatrical effect of pouring hot chocolate on the tempered chocolate sphere.
5) chilean sea bass with dashi ponzu
6) soft shell crab sushi roll -can't really taste the crab. i've had better sushi, sorry
7) scallop tempura
8) yuzu pear martini

overall, two thumbs up! will definitely return to try other dishes.

nobu is losing what it started up here as in doha. it has become more of a lounge/dj bar rather than a nobu restaurant. i been to nobu in tokyo, dubai and london. i was at the first brunch in doha and it was very good. nowadays i wouldn't recommend it for dining as it's exceptionally overpriced. this is a okplacefor drinks and sundowners. mondays are very popular and it gets every crowded as it's ladies night.

nobu is a greatplacefor drinks, the cocktails are great and the choice of sake is good. really enjoy the happy hour and s3 night when you can also enjoy some small portion of food.

service can be rude at the bar section especially on monday night (which is the ladies night) where waiters are tracking girls to ensure that no guy have a sip on their drinks.

went there for dinner for the omasaki selection, the food was good although really overpriced (500 riyals tasting menu). on the other side, the brunch is hands down the best in town, amazing quality, nice cocktails, efficient service.

dinner at nobu is quite an experience being the worlds largest nobu located in the private marina of four seasons hotel doha.
the entrance of nobu is separate from the four seasons hotel. the walkway lighting , the interior deco , the ambience is all amazing with a beautiful sea view and the doha skyscrapers.
we were here for our anniversary dinner. as we entered they seated us indoor , though the ambience inside was great with romantic lighting we preferred to be seated outdoor. and they did get us a table outside. we chose to have omakase 5 course meal which consisted of:
-salmon new style sashimi
-shrimp salad with spicy lemon dressing - all the ingredients used were very fresh.
-california roll,sea bass sushi
-chilean sea bass with jalapeno dressing
-coconut castella cake with miso cream and passion fruit.
each course gets heavier than the previous one. so it's really filling. and everything we liked except for the dessert. it was too sweet to have, so we weren't able to finish it.and it was a let down after having such great dishes.
we enjoyed our romantic dinner over looking the sea and the skyline. their service is really good. the staff were friendly and super attentive.

it's pricey but it's a goodplaceto take your loved ones on a special occasion. i would recommend to book a table outdoor in the restaurant or on the rooftop lounge.

visited nobu 3 times and everytime the quality seems to have gone down. is chef nobu not visiting to keep up with the quality of the menu??

i heard it could be an issue with the supply of raw materials for their menu with the blockade and all.

anyway the staff are super friendly when theplaceis not too busy. during the weekend its hard to get great service because it gets very busy with their lounges.

i heard that this is the biggest nobu in the world? i tried nobu in london, dubai, manila and hong kong but this is my least favorite.

nobu! i am a big fan of this place! the ambience is spectacular! finger foods are scrumptious. my all time favorite are edamame, crispy umami chicken with honey anticucho and rock shrimp tempura! the last time i was there i had the ryu punch which was quite nice.

a greatplaceto hang out with your spouse or friends.
can get waaaay crowded!


march 2019 update
we tried the signature 7 course menu - it was just spectacular! the cod fish is the best i have eaten in my life!

it is one hell of a fancy place, good chill music i went early it was kind if a sausage party lol, there is an outdoors but its closed but looks really nice out there.
fancyplacedidnt try the food but nicely decorated the music was a bit chill to get away from the long day.

service: good wait staff in general tho some just chose to ignore you when called out to top up for drinks

ambience: friday brunch can get pretty rowdy due to high spirits and free flow of booze i guess

taste and verdict: every single thing i had there was perfection from the starters right up to the desserts! on point on your taste buds! fresh fresh fresh! awesome food and drinks variety! nothing was bad! i have no complains! i totally love thisplaceand will be coming back!

my tastebuds went for a culinary journey and i couldn't be more happier then i already am!
one of my favourite really has to be the black cod i swear i tasted chocolate in there, i could eat all of it by myself, but unfortunately i had to share😭
my only downfall was the chicken, but i mean i didn't expect any type of meat to be served besides seafood. so if you are a seafood/sushi kinda person then this is hands down theplaceto be! you could tell the fish was fresh and it would just melt in your mouth and the cheesecake i'm in love! and also the location and view of theplaceis breathtaking and so beautiful!
i would recommend thisplaceto anyone!

i have to admit that thisplaceis a must , food is great but what hits the right buttons for me are the staff cesar and all his colleagues will take care of every detail for u , i no longer look at the menu , they take of everything from a-z .

we ended up at nobu spontaneously, this restaurant far exceeded my expectations, ambiance was classy, staff was attentive & servers knew everything that was on offer in their menus, i have been to other michilen star restaurants and this is at par with others..
we ordered a bottle of white wine, lobster salad, egg plant with misu, and dessert was a treat as well, thisplaceis highly recommended for couples or families or even going out on a date...
since i'm not a big fan of sushi, they had other options which was very satisfying to know...
it's worth every single penny, considering the bill can go over 300usd, which is just fine as long as the service, food and ambiance is up to the standards..
