nobu - four seasons hotel

we made a last minute booking for friday brunch at the weekend. we wanted to try nobu as the location and view looked amazing. the setting lived up to expectations and the interior decor was lovely and typical of all nobu's.

the brunch is a la carte, with a sharing starter selection. there is also a sushi bar, fried rice bar and foie gras station. there were ample starters with the highlights being the sushi and sashimi, edamame and tacos. there was a selection of about 8 mains to choose from, these were okay, nothing spectacular, the miso cod was pretty tasty though. for dessert we selected the molten chocolate fondant, it was delicious and served in a chest like box which made it a bit more special.

service, which always seems to be a deal breaker was incredible, probably the best we have experienced! we barely had to request drinks, if anything he was a bit to generous with the refills (my glass was never empty). the pace was much more leisurely than other brunches, and we were never rushed to order. the service was attentive without being intrusive and overbearing, so perfect!

i would highly recommend this chilled out brunch for any size group - try to see the view from the roof it's beautiful!

beautiful setting and great architecture . the dining experience was good at first; all dishes were very well presented, though the portions were small. the food was good, but not excellent in my opinion. we decided to have a drink upstairs after our dinner and nobody took our order while we sat down for 15min. we decided to leave and they gave our table immediatly to some other guests. it was a disappointing and rude ending to our evening unfortunatly. in general i expected more from our evening at nobu.

so doha has a nobu!  time to get eating!  mrs b and i booked a table at our local(!) nobu to celebrate a special occasion. we started off with some mocktails - 28 punch 55, and ryu punch.  on to the food, the black cod yozu miso was very nice, as were the spicy tuna sushi rolls.  we had a few other pieces, and a chocolate bomb dessert.

ok, lets be honest, the food was outstanding.  the ambiance, the view, this is a fantastic place, somewhere a bit special to celebrate but.... if it wasn't nobu i wouldn't have paid over 50 qar each for a mocktail.  be warned, its pricey!

i came to nobu on o monday and it was so difficult to order for drinks or food! i waited in the queue for 30 mins to get my drinks and i was told i need to get a table to get food. the service was extremely slow and everywhere in the restaurant was full of empty glasses. i will never come back here again.

lovely atmosphere, very friendly service. try the famous nobu shrimp tempura , it's amazing! we also had the eggplant miso ..it tasted a bit sweeter than expected... sushi was good ..i still did not try the famous black cod ..i'll save it for next visit.

not my first visit but my first review, despite a confirmed reservation and the place was almost empty i had an issue with table i have requested, food experience has almost been fantastic , ordered the following:

3- rock shrimp tempura with creamy spicy 3.5/5

7- scallop with spicy wasabi pepper sauce 5/5
8- creamy california suchi 4/5
9- bento box 3.5/5
10- carmelized vanilla cake 4/5

great place, stylishly designed and lovely ambience. the service was good, the sushi was sublime, and the wine heaven sent. i have no complaints at all.

food is good, drinks are fine, but what's up with the terribly slow service? second time here at the bar/lounge area and reminded of the same issues as the first time - forgotten orders & delays.

excellent sushi and good variety of drinks, helpful waiters and waitresses. amazing view and architecture make this place very special.
good for special occasions. children under 12 are not allowed except friday brunch.

decent food terrible service. first time here and definitely a mistake. not repeating it
only come if you have about 5 hours to wait between the starters and the main course.
would have been more considerate if we ordered a la carte, but we had a set 4 course menu!

this was by far the worse experience and the worse costumer service we ever had in doha or anywhere else actually . we were a group of 4 couples and the manger refused to let us sit on one table and insisted on separating us into two tables with more than 2 meter apart ! ! he argued so much , was disrespectful and unhelpful. honestly i didn’t get the point of the argument when all restaurants in all hotels allows at least 8 people on one table ! we had to leave after 45min of argument as this was going nowhere even though we made the booking in advanced and we made it clear that’s it’s a 40th birthday and we need a table for 8! we also explained to him that we are neighbours and work colleagues so what’s the point of this attitude! never again ...so disappointed we were looking forward for a good friday night ... luckily we made a reservation at another hotel nearby where we all sat together and saved the day :)

the price for the friday brunch at nobu has gone up again. considering that there is no actual buffet and everything is brought to the table, it seems unfair on the price tag. the non alcoholic package costs qrs 345, the alcoholic package costs qrs 525 and the enhanced nobu package costs qrs 650. we were 10 people at the table divided into 2 tables. as you see in the menu, you can just chose one item per category, which is disappointing. your basically paying for a set menu at a very hefty price. don’t get me wrong, the food quality is excellent. however, the price and the food quantity should match. earlier seafood was an open live station, right now it’s just one dish per person. disappointing. nobu has deteriorated in terms of service. we had to keep on calling our server for drinks and food. it wasn’t even that busy comparatively to earlier friday brunches. nobu needs better management for sure. won’t be going back if they do not improve.

was here for the first time for my wife's birthday. first impression you get once you arrive is the level of the service from the valet to the table. everyone is thriving to make you happy. the atmospheres and the music are just comfrting. the food was good. we had the kaiseki set menu which included 1 choice of each of the following:

starter
sushi
main course
desert

lovely experience, looking forward to go again and try thier friday brunch this time.

start off with some sushi, they serve incredibly fresh sashimi. the scallops were delicious!

move over to the seafood bar and get yourselves some fried rice topped with foie gras, salmon, or shrimp. make sure to try the different sauces with the crab legs and oysters!

don't get full just yet! order the black cod and end your meal with a chocolate bento box!

delicious! take some friends with you and have plenty of lychee martinis!

p.s. share your honey-infused black cod with a partner and order the creamy lobster risotto along with it.
