nobu doha beats its siblings when it comes to location, ambience, decor and service. having had the pleasure of eating at three different nobu restaurants now (london, dubai and doha) it was easy to observe the stark differences between them.
with a vast menu and service and waiting staff to match, we were given great recommendations on popular dishes, how certain dishes are cooked and what order to eat them in. the cold aperitifs and salad were fantastic (we tried the lobster salads which was delicious). the trademark black cod followed which was tender to the chop stick and moist. the shrimp was as expected (nothing special) and the sushi was nice. we absolutely loved the desert which was a brilliant take on tiramisu.
what sets nobu apart are the cold starters, salads, alternative main dishes and the amazing dessert, not its sushi...we felt that and something the waitress also confirmed. so if you want to go for a pure sushi dinner, don't waste your time here...you will get a better (yet small) selection in spice market at the w hotel. if you want a special night out, fantastic service, varied japanese menu (that won't disappoint from starters thought to dessert) and brilliant ambience nobu is the top choice in doha.
