really enjoyed an anniversary meal here on saturday the sashimi and beef and mushroom dish were highlights. a truly memorable occasion. we had thought we were going to get the omakase menu but instead allowed the waiter to choose a selection of dishes to be shared. this was a good way to experience the menu for a celebration but you need not to be too worried about the cost.

yup that will be a 5.0 and no doubt about it! very modern and sophisticated. the moment we enter nobu i can tell that the service will be excellent. they really helped us and recommend amazing food and drinks. first recommendation was the yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño...at first i was very skeptical since i'm not into sashimi, but it was amazing! the combination of the yellowtail, coriander and jalapeño are truly genius. second recommendation, salmon and foie gras gyoza jalapeño dressing. sounds interesting and the taste was outstanding. third recommendation and my favourite dish for that night was the rock shrimp tempura with creamy spicy and butter ponzu sauce. it was one of nobu's most popular signature dishes in doha. its was just simply amazing. fourth recommendation was the flambé wagyu beef (before they serve it one of the staff was making a space and told us something really special will be serve on our table). the presentation was a total fun and exciting to watch. we had 2 desserts that night, the miso chocolate sphere (a dark chocolate sphere with white miso cream and roasted pecans, topped with black orchid tea infused hot chocolate) and  nobu cheesecake with raspberry wasabi sorbet.  didn't get a chance to take photos of all the food so hopefully by my next visit..i can take pictures of every single food i will order and share it here on zomato.

doha's currently most talked about restaurant could also well be the most expensive. nobu has opened to great acclaim, luring diners with promise of a transcendent miso cod, the globally renowned dish from chef nobu matsuhisa himself. the food is all excellent, but the accompanying price tags understandably inspire caution. the building itself is a magnificent site and impressive to drive towards. can't afford it as a weekly destination, but to celebrate a special occasion, it hovers around the top of my list.

this was my first time in a nobu restaurant and it was an absolute pleasure! ever since i last had cod fish in clarke quay, river point in singapore, i have been searching for the same kind of delight, and i found it in the cod fish in nobu. it is quite pricey, but worth every penny! .
i find the way they greet people and guide them to their chairs, enchanting !
it's a great place to have an intimate dinner with your spouse as the view outside is just splendid!

nobu doha beats its siblings when it comes to location, ambience, decor and service. having had the pleasure of eating at three different nobu restaurants now (london, dubai and doha) it was easy to observe the stark differences between them.

with a vast menu and service and waiting staff to match, we were given great recommendations on popular dishes, how certain dishes are cooked and what order to eat them in. the cold aperitifs and salad were fantastic (we tried the lobster salads which was delicious). the trademark black cod followed which was tender to the chop stick and moist. the shrimp was as expected (nothing special) and the sushi was nice. we absolutely loved the desert which was a brilliant take on tiramisu.

what sets nobu apart are the cold starters, salads, alternative main dishes and the amazing dessert, not its sushi...we felt that and something the waitress also confirmed. so if you want to go for a pure sushi dinner, don't waste your time here...you will get a better (yet small) selection in spice market at the w hotel. if you want a special night out, fantastic service, varied japanese menu (that won't disappoint from starters thought to dessert) and brilliant ambience nobu is the top choice in doha.

this has been on my to-do since its opening, after i experienced it in la many years ago. although nobu's signature isn't confined to just food, it also includes the physical establishment and the whole experience encompassing the guests.

just so happened that i dined here with my wife for our wedding anniversary (note: it was her first time). the food didn't disappoint at all, & the wife was happy as well. you would definitely have to try nobu's signature dishes. the whole establishment is a great place (it's a multistorey set-up on a reclaimed land peninsula with a great view), as there's also a rooftop terrace (useful when the desert weather cools down after the hot and humid period).

although some of his dishes do have alcohol content because of the recipe (look for the a next to the dish name), some of them can still be made without it (just ask the waiter about it as they'll know which ones).

the price may be an issue for many people (it's obvious why cause it's also the name attached to it), so expect this place to be a once in a month or every 2 months.

i walked away happy not just because of nobu's signature cuisine, but also due to the whole guest experience.

great environment and good food, especially the black cod miso is something very special, yet portions are small and prices are heavy in the wallet, the second floor terrace is the highlight of the venue
